Demon form being heavily nerfed hurt my feelings about my platelock builds. Magic resist perk not reducing cleric divine spells is kinda sad. I recommend running Dark Cuirass and Greathelm for more base MR while not losing much armor/knowledge. Also you can consider running Dark Reflection since there is not many mages or warlocks around. Dark Reflection is buffed, as well as Soul Collector, so you can get 5 souls from mobs and hit like 50-60 damage back to your attacker, mind you, you should not get hit by mobs or you lose the stacks. Soul stacking is not a comfy build imo but Cactuslock is an option for pure melee countering. Hydrain was the correct option :) I have seen some other people doing BoC/Phantomise builds but the way you build it more flexible and useful. Dude SOLID PvP montage, i would love to see more, sick parries :P
@@urbangent253 Np dude i saw the video, this company sucks at balancing sadly, it got nerfed -%200: 1%>1.5%>3% hp loss per second. Funny how people hated MS warlock the most but still whined about demonlock, and now MS is the only viable way to play it. Guess the normies didnt know how to disengage from a statcheck fight and wanted to W key anything with fighter or barb. Now they will face 320MS warlocks only.
I love how you show SQUIRE gears. That's the real challenge for me. If you use higher tier gear you can do pretty much anything by patching your weaknesses with the stats you need.
I think this is the beginner-friendly dnd content i was looking for, most build videos skip over stuff they think is obvious but which i havent figured out yet. shame the algorithm didnt bring me this sooner, keep up the good work
I feel Curse of Weakness has only been underrated because of 2 factors, 1 a lot of the other full caster Warlock options have been kind of set in stone with how good Torture Mastery was (and still kind of is), 2 there is no feedback while your other spells do damage or give a healing feedback with Torture Mastery. Curse of Weakness is strong and I say definitely works best on a PlateLock, it's just underrated because the other options for fullcasting are stronger or give some sort of positive feedback on a class that is about the biggest form of a negative feedback, losing health.
Cool music at the end, my baby started dancing. I think Will perk Malice might also increase the Life Drain amount a similar amount to Vampirism perk, i know this old video but it just came up for me and i was interested haha, gonna try some Plate Lock today with spellbook, but use Dark Leather leggins for more Magic Reduction. Ill try a few perk setups
I haven't played that much, and played more right when the game was taken off steam. I was wanted to see if what I wanted to do was viable. Well made video, thank you.
I like rolling sphere and falchion. Blood stained blade + BOC on a falchion with the mana sphere buffs all work so well together. You're slow but you're hydra and dark bolts give good range pressure and closing on you means taking shots and trading into a bad day, especially if you decide to use dark reflection. Curse of weakness is good, eldritch shield if you can afford it. Secondary flex between staff/book or any melee/shield. Remember, you're not a real Warlock until you lifedrain a player to death.
This is a solid build as well the add weapon with crystal ball also makes falch hit hard. True if only Lifedrain did more danage you could drain someone to death haha
@@urbangent253 Just gotta make the moment happen. That moment he starts panicking about the curse damage and turns to run. That's when you drain them down.
A lot of inaccuracies, but I still like the video. Great to see someone else playing platelock. :) Antimagic doesn't work against divine magic, so 2 out of 3 examples you mentioned will not be affected. Also, apparently there is a bug and antimagic doesn't work against curses (warlock) and poison (rogue) as well. So kinda of sucks balls. Curse of weakness is pretty bad. It reduces the movement speed by like 2-3, and you need to cast the spell and hit it. The rest of stats reduction is almost insignificant. Especially when you play with gear. Not worth it. Debuff duration does not affect the debuffs you apply on others. It reduces the debuffs applied on you. ;) I like playing plate lock in duos and trios. Never solo. Why? Because your movement speed is so low you are basically a sitting duck. You will not run away and will not chase. Not even cleric or fighter. The only potential use for this build, for me, is to be a deterrent for your duo friend. Being the front liner with pdr, mdr ( stack will), and easy hydra drain surge kit plus boc blocking their healing. Situational, but pretty cool. I appreciate your video and you. :)
really high quality guide! just started playing warlock and i really enjoy it but i suck at it lol. I wanna play it more melee so im practicing longsword but keep getting w keyed by fighters/barbs. excited to try your build
Thanks for the guide! Which stats will you recommend to focus on? More knowledge, strength, will? Sorry if I missed it in the video. Thanks in advance!
I play platelock exclusively, whether it's strong or not, because the "dark leech knight" class is by far my favorite in all RPGs. But I hate the movement speed meta for obvious reasons.
I just started a warlock and this is such a good guide, a well deserved sub, I appreciate you explaining everything and quick question would you recommend swapping out shadow touch with dark reflection or should I stick with shadow touch and swap something else?
Thanks bro I appreciate it! It depends on your weapon Kris Dagger shadow touch is good because of quick swings, longsword it's probably better to go dark reflection since it's slow
bro as a new-ish player, this video was insanely good, especially because it covered everything. i was about to comment about how to get more squire gear and bam you mentioned it. what would you recommend now that demon form/torture mastery was nerfed?
Torture master is still good I just wouldn't recommend using Hydra with it because 3x Cost on Hydra is 24 hp cost. As far as Demon form I am experimenting right now stay tuned for tomorrow's video 😁
I tried something very similar, I really want to like this build but facing range classes or classes like rogue who can easily run away very quickly is kinda annoying, I died twice from a rogues who were using the hand crossbow and got hits on me before my sword animation even started.
Yeah it can be frustrating tbh tho rogues are just toxic in general same with rangers this is why Hydra and bolt of darkness are decent, you can use Hydra to reveal invisible rogues from around the corner. As far as fighting them you have to bait them for the most part nothing else you can really do. Even Caster locks are countered by rangers and rogues
My main issue with this (besides your single raid testing it and how you basically played like normal warlock which brings the question of why you'd go platelock without demon form) Is that you're taking probably the wrong spells for this, you could go a bit up on your knowledge from squire and go for a flamewalk spell to aid in melee, or a hellfire to zone out people better. Interesting idea, but I think maybe playtest your ideas a bit more and polish the choices before presenting them to new players ^^
The reason I didn't go Demon was because demon got a huge Nerf and the 3% per second you deal to yourself isn't worth it. Especially without more gear. This is an introduction new player video for Demon armor.

Yeah you could swap it out but fine cuirass I believe has negative MR. Also if you are running hydrating you should probably get as much knowledge as you can since the ticks are faster the higher your knoledge/spellcasting speed is
