    Love your videos! Particularly like your style of separate commentary over the video. Means you can concentrate well on each rather than trying to do the work and remember what you need to say at the same time. Have learnt a lot so will be tuning in regularly.

      Thanks for your kind feedback. I did try to record one video while explaining, but I had people knocking at the door, deliveries etc. It was an absolute mission. So stuck with this format. But without the music like earlier videos.
      Please do stay tuned. 👍🏼

      Nice. Another little tip, that I should have included in the video, is it would have looked a little better if I'd pre polished inside the collet.

      100%. Takes some getting used to. I do so much from muscle memory and sound, that a lot of the work I do, is at the same time as watching a bit of Netflix and not even looking at the piece.

    I really enjoyed your video, your explaining instructions are great. I do have a swiss valarie Files square, but it a #2 10 inch file, I think that one would be to large to use…but I don’t have one in the needle file regarding that brand. I actually do have some small needle files that are square but they’re not nearly as good as my Swiss Valarebe files. Would triangle needle file work? I do have a needle files that’s a Swiss Valarbe brand. Ever since I started using Swiss Valerbe files it was a huge game changer for me and my work.
    The bezel that you made before you start filing on it how thick or what is the millimeter of the thickness ?
    It also sterling silver and fine silvel? I can always melt down whatever Silver I need and make my bezel as thick as I need them to be.. Thanks so much for your work. 🤗, Michelle

    • @metalofhonour
      @metalofhonour  6 месяцев назад +1

      The triangle needle file would work fine too. 10 inch is a bit aggressive. The German brand (d i c k) are also very good. Had to be careful how I type that one 🤣The mm is based on the other video, so about .8mm thickness.
      Sterling silver is the more robust choice. I only use fine silver when I alloy my own gold.

    If you don’t mind me asking what gauge metal is the bezel made out of and is it a tapered bezel?

    • @metalofhonour
      @metalofhonour  3 месяца назад

      In the video I refer to my "how to make a stone setting" video. It's all the same measurements as in this video. For rings I always use a tapered bezel. Tube style setting always look like Etsy style jewellery to me in rings.

    This is one of the BEST ideas for a setting I've EVER seen! You mention a "Roman Setting" I've noted that you don't have a video on how to make one.... I've seen them, but haven't been able to get a hit on a "how to" video when I search on RUclips. Can you PLEASE do this for us? I think they are quite unique! Thanks so much for sharing your talent.❤❤🤍🤍💙💙
