I’m only at 1:06 but having raised my family in Austin, this mother’s story so closely resembles my own, I am hooked. It all sounds so familiar… Sadly, your words describing how their family bond was gradually disintegrating (older daughter using marijuana, younger son drinking beer, TV’s in every room, meals eaten separately, kids spending too much time with gadgets and “friends” on the wrong path, and too little time connecting as a family) struck a chord. I loved it when the mother realized early on that for her kids’ sake, she needed to move her family away from the Austin lifestyle and “friends”, which were a contributing factor to her family’s downward spiral. I am cheering her on as she makes the decision to make drastic changes to “right the ship”, comes up with a plan on how to go about it, and has the fortitude to follow through on difficult decisions despite protestations from her kids for the good of her family. I am hoping this family’s story has a much happier ending than my own… I unfortunately didn’t realize what was happening right under my nose until it was too late. Had I realized it wasn’t just a phase, our family’s story might have turned out very differently. Thank you for this story…🙏🥰
I absolutely love this story. It had everything, moments of crying, laughter( the school fight was so hilarious). A simply wonderful story ❤. Thanks for sharing
Bravo superb book I absolutely love it, this book bring forward so many good memories of how things used to be and how somethings should still be thank you sooooo much for sharing it
I enjoyed this. I usually read heavier lit, but this was great to listen to at night. And i thought there were some wonderful parts, like the conversations between Lily and her mom or the journal passages. It's got more than just romance.
Not going to finish. Made it like halfway, but it just feels like a lot of filler. Like how they're ALWAYS talking about dessert for no reason?? Cookies, cake, cobbler, brownies, ice cream... On and on and on... It does nothing for the story. It's not like it's a story about a bakery or something. All of the characters are just obsessed with dessert.
@@denisevalentino8917 Unless the Big Plot Twist in the end is that they all get diabetes, there's no reason for a whole paragraph in every chapter to be devoted to talking about dessert. 😂 Felt like a student trying to reach the word count requirement of an essay by rambling on about nonsense. Lol
Thanks for not having ads every 5 minutes! Great story + great narrator!
Another great story with perfect narration! Thank you!

Hahahaha. It adds ambience to the story , that is all. Maybe this type of book is not your preferred genre.

Southerners are always about the food that brings the family together. It may not be necessary but life wouldn’t be the same without it. 😊
