  • This is the view from seat 10F onboard an Airbus A321NX flown by IndiGo. Notice how the thrust changes affect the engine noise as soon as the thrust transitions to climb. The loud LEAP1A growl which is unique to the A321 series becomes noticeable soon after. It becomes apparent at 1:37
    Departure Airport: Mumbai
    Seat: 10F

Enjoy the distinct LEAP1A buzzsaw for 3 minutes!

Leap engines sound like mini GE90s. Partly developed by GE so makes sense

Why did thrust increase during climb and not during takeoff? I knew that take off phase rquires the max thrust

Not necessary, many takeoffs these days are derated, also denoted by FLEX thrust on the Airbuses.
Initial climb thrust is lower or equal to the takeoff thrust setting, but at higher altitudes you need a thrust increase to maintain climb and compensate for air parameter changes.
Hence the climb thrust will slowly increase to reach a max value at around the Mach transition altitude which is roughly from 28000 - 31000 ft, then gradually decrease a bit.
