That the real deal. Great guy. His stuff is definitely the best. I'm a big cooker. I have been cooking my whole life for the family not by choice, but by them. His stuff was my goto for years on BBQ now it's chicken and seafood with his wide selection of seasoning and baths. WOW
@@HeathRilesBBQ I love it! HAHA Keep up the great work…Just bought/used a pile of your rubs (still have a bunch of rubs/sauce/injections left). I love experimenting on different meats. Keep on smokin’!
Healths seasoning, rubs and bbq sauces have taken over my kitchen. Have not disappointed. Food is reborn again at my house and the taste is just amazing.
I started using a traeger since moving to TN. And I haven't been able to get pork butts to turn out like they did on my WSM. Going to give your method a try next time for sure, thanks!
doing a pork butt for the first time today. I got baby back and spare ribs down to a science. I'm always nervous about messing up a decently priced cut of meat. thanks for the tips my dude.
Heath you're stuff looks amazing as always I'm wondering about hitting rub back on them at the end of the cook like you did here Everytime I do that run never breaks down in enough time and leaves me with a sand type texture in each bite
I have a question for you Heath. In a previous video, you cooked your butt by trimming down most of the fat and wrapping it with a combo of your sweet sauce and vinegar sauce. In this one, you score the fat cap and then wrap it with your butter bath. Which version gives you the result that you prefer? Does the fat render down enough in this version? Thanks for all the great grilliin' videos!
Looks incredible. Just bought all your injections, bath and rub. Can I follow this exact recipe on the big green egg and just use charcoal? Or should I add a certain wood also?
When is it best to eat? I would like to make this at home and bring it to a holiday party. Should I refrigerate after or try to time it where it’s warm for the ride
has anyone ever experienced pulled pork having an odd taste the next day? it tastes great the day of, but i can taste something in the meat thats always there when its leftover
Everything just tastes better fresh out of the oven. Make sure to package your leftovers correctly so the food does not end up with a bad taste is my best advice.
Can anyone suggest an alternative to the butter bath to put in the wrap? Wasn't able to get it in time for my cook. Would plain old melted butter work or would it burn and get nasty?
I understand you are trying to sell products, particularly your own. However, you have not made an "infomercial" about how to smoke and use your products, but rather a 'commercial' for your products instead. This will cause me, and others I'm sure, to delete or send to spam your emails in the future. I love making BBQ and smoking product. I'm a certified BBQ judge with the KCBS. But I will not waste my time watching a commercial. Please change your approach.
Hopefully you're not a certified judge anymore with that attitude, of course he's gonna try to sell his products he also tells people to use their favorite rubs if they don't want to use his.. he's a world renowned pitmaster who has the trophies to prove his products are good
Never had a bad cook following your videos, thanks Heath!

Perfect timing! Just picked up a pork butt for the weekend.
Awesome!!
@@HeathRilesBBQ Also just ordered some Heath Riles injection and some more Honey Chipotle Rub. Was getting low on inventory. 😬
Sounds like you are about ready to cook this recipe!!
By far the best pork injection and honey chipotle rub ever made. The Butter Bath is the 💣! ❤️🐖🔥
Agreed!!
Low and slow baby 🔥🔥🐷
Best way to do it
"The ol' 1-handed bone pull..." HAHAHA

Followed this video and cooked our best pork butt yet! So tender and flavorful!
That is fantastic! I am glad you enjoyed.
Hell yeh brother, I’m doing a maple/bourbon glazed butt on Sunday, will post a vid on it too
Sounds great!
Trapped a wild hog, fattened him up and bought your rubs and I'm smoking it now. Can't wait.
Hope it turned out great!
I made this it was awesome 👍👍👍👍👍
Awesome!
Picking up 2 butts tomorrow, have to see if my local shop has butter bath.
I gotta stop watching these videos at night now I’m starving and trying to go to sleep
At least now you can dream about it too

@@MrDaoJones I moved to TN and had to leave the WSM in CA. I'm using my father in laws traeger now. But hoping to pick up an offset soon!

I would like to see a cooking brined porkchops video, since yo spoke of using the pork injection in a brine.
I will keep that in mind!
Looks great. The royal oak pellets don’t seem to be available anywhere at least in nj
I live in Jersey also and I saw that the Royal oak charcoal pellets he’s using can be shipped for free to your local Home Depot and picked up.
Just get lumberjack pellets, they're the best.
You can get them on Amazon as well
Heath you're stuff looks amazing as always I'm wondering about hitting rub back on them at the end of the cook like you did here Everytime I do that run never breaks down in enough time and leaves me with a sand type texture in each bite
You want to make sure that bark is set before you wrap
Gotta get me some of that pork injection!
Give it a try!!

Just different cooking methods. I'd recommend scoring the fat cap and wrapping with butter bath

Yes you can
Looks great. I love a good smoked pork butt. I have a 9 lb in the freezer and want to smoke it soon. Keep smoking!
Thank you!
Looks awesome! For comp, would you mix the injection up a few days in advance?
I do not mix mine before hand for comps but you can as long as you keep it refrigerated.
So, you have had any issues with those pellets on the Traeger?? Traeger make it sound like their pellets are the only ones that should be used.
No I have not had any kind of issues with Traeger
One thing I’ve learned over the years with smoking is that, there’s really no need to do anything other than just smoking the meat.
When is it best to eat? I would like to make this at home and bring it to a holiday party. Should I refrigerate after or try to time it where it’s warm for the ride
I'd suggest warm for the ride.
When you take the wrapped butt off of the smoker to rest, do you just set it on the countertop or do you put it in a cooler like a Yeti? New to this.
I let it rest in my YETI cooler!
A fun drinking game is to take a drink every time you make an unintentional butt joke in this video. Pro tip: don't play this game with hard alcohol.
It would end poorly 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂
Do you use Super Smoke mode on the Traeger?
Royal Oak Pellets
Heath, reckon where I could git some of them pellets ole son?
Can find them here: amzn.to/3sawwTq
Chilpotay
We all say things a little different lol
Can the butter bath be used as a thinning agent for bbq sauce and still do the job it was intended for?
I use it to wrap meats

@@HeathRilesBBQ that would be vaccuum sealing, correct?
@@justinreynaud1598 Yes. I vacuum seal it and freeze it

How do you do your comp butts
We have a couple other pork butt videos if you want to check those out
What temp did he wrap it?
Our butt was approximately 160º.
@@HeathRilesBBQ thank u sir
Can anyone suggest an alternative to the butter bath to put in the wrap? Wasn't able to get it in time for my cook. Would plain old melted butter work or would it burn and get nasty?
I would not recommend melted butter, this will more than likely put an oil consistency on your ribs.
Send me some samples of your products
Sorry we do not send samples but all products are in stock and available on our website.
I am starting to wonder how much of those products are paying him... that Royal Oak mention seemed way too staged/paid-for...
Just enjoy promoting products that I use and like and inform people about them in videos.
