hey i was just wondering: how does the gatorade reflect blue light if it absorbs orange light bc isnt blue light higher in energy? it makes sense for an object that absorbs the color blue reflect it as orange bc orange is lower in energy but not the other way around.
Great question! The energy of absorption has to be "just right" to hit a difference in quantum energy levels-it can neither be too high nor too low. Light that is too high in energy can just pass right through a substance if it isn't absorbed.
Thank you so much for your help!!!
