People in the other parts of India have a misconception that Northeast Indians don't really like India but they are terribly mistaken here......They just Love India the way the rest of India does......We like them all and We respect them sincerely!!!!!!! Rectification needed to overcome your preconceived notions about Bodoland movement.
1)5:23
It was people's movement against imposition of Assamese language and culture on Bodos. It was led by student organisations and other social organisations who protested against government in a peaceful and nonviolent way but several civilians lost their lives due to government suppression.

Bodo youths were targeted by security forces causing several human rights violation. To escape torture and killings by government, people had to run to Manas and depend on the resources in the forest for their survival.

Bodoland movement was never funded by "foreign". Poaching has nothing to do with this movement. Bodo people were very much against exploitation of forest resources. Poaching was done by a limited number of misguided youths who were poor neglected by government and in desperate need of money for livelihood.

Bodo youths themselves took the initiative to protect the Manas.

Killings were committed by security forces and terrorists against civilians.

Bodoland movement has nothing to do with targeting of Hindi speakers. It was terrorists groups responsible for such activities. They don't represent people's movement which was non violent protests and agitation. Bodo organisations have always been against killing of any civilians be it by government or terrorist groups.

Almost all the tribal states or region have same or similar stories. Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Orissa, Assam, Arunachal, Nagaland, Mizoram. Also, all of these regions have abundance of natural resources yet after extracting the natural resources from these regions these states got left behind in socio-economic upliftment while the states which are mainstream and don't have natural resources like these states. They all prosperred. I wonder who was/is wrong here.
