Thank you Carolyn, for a brief reprieve from all the flooding. It was nice to sit back and enjoy Alaska with you instead of the news. Love to you and Capone!
Carolyn I have to say.... you can tell you enjoyed Alaska.....Your smile is huge in all of those video's.... lol... I am so glad you enjoyed yourself! Thanks for sharing :-)
From Australia, thank you Carolyn for what you are doing. I look forward to every video you upload. We are similar in age and you satisfy my wanderlust even though I am sick and will probably never get to Alaska in this lifetime. I think you are doing such a great job, I am ever so grateful you 'take us along' with you! I love Alaska like Heaven from afar.....thank you for taking us with you. Keep doing everything you do! You're on the right track.xxxxxxx
My most favorite videos are of you and Capone finding your boondocking spots. I get all excited right along with you when you discover a gem of a location!
As I have said many times before - thank you for all that you share. I love watching your northern adventures. I just returned home from a 4000 mile round trip adventure of my own. I am tired and so grateful I got to see and do all that I did - have to say that when I pulled up into my own drive way all I could think of was that I did not want this life style anymore. I needed to do different. Still every chance I got I looked you up to see how you and Captain Capone was doing. Thanks again., Hawk.
when I first moved to Yellowknife NWT I thought everyone was soooo friendly, everyone was waving. It wasn't until I went for a walk I realized they weren't waving they were trying to keep the black flies away. What a fantastic shot of the rainbow.
I used to be a day sleeper and I just used cheap old foil on the windows and taped it on with duct tape. Easy easy and no light showing through. Happy Camping.
I know this video was a few yrs ago, but the Denali hwy is where we ALWAYS boondock. We've been up here in Alaska since 1985 and are within a yr of selling and going full tie RVing. The Denali is our most favorite place for camping. But you can camp almost anywhere in ALASKA.
So happy for you Carolyn that you are getting an amazing Alaska adventure. The Cilitna river spot was so cool as always thanks for sharing and God Bless You and Capone in your travels.
you need an old fashion `d smudge pot going , you can make a good one by gathering up some old dried out moose droopings and crumble them up and lite them they work fairly good as a smudge. thats what we would do on the home stead many years ago.
What beautiful scenery we have seen as you've traveled thru' Denali and other areas of Alaska! It's a love/hate relationship with that state. I had neighbors who moved there years ago and one by one all the siblings and their families moved there, too. They love it! On the other side of the coin, I hired a young gal who just came back from living there with her husband and children and absolutely hated it! She lived where it was dark 6 months of the year and told how terrible that is with children as the crime rate is so high then that the children have to be kept in the house those 6 months of the year. She mentioned how that was enough to drive any mother to a breakdown trying to find things to entertain the kids, especially since everything is so expensive up there and many things had to be ordered from the lower states. However, it's been fun seeing the beautiful side of Alaska. Denali was especially wonderful and I appreciated your sharing it with us! We didn't have to worry about bears attacking from behind us, yet was able to enjoy the splendor of the area! (I was shaking with fear for you even tho' I knew you were okay or we wouldn't have gotten the video.) Anyhow, thanks so much for sharing it all with us! (BTW, have you wondered why gas is so expensive up there when the pipeline is right there in Alaska? You would think gas would be dirt cheap, but maybe they don't have the refineries to process the oil. Any knowledge about that? Will you see the pipeline before heading back? Even that must be a wonder, I think!)
Lucky lady, mosquitos tear me up, big welts, that will get infected when I can't stop scratching them (which happened a lot as a child)... I'm enjoying your Alaska trip videos... thanks for all the work you put into them.
OMG that was big bug... What beauty your getting to see and enjoy... looks like we may be home for the winter...I just don't know hubby has not said... hmmm... Have fun you Capone!!!
We used to have plenty of people come up to work just in the summers... then they would go south to the "lesser 48" to work the rest of the year. One of the nurses I worked with in Barrow did that. In the winter she worked on cruise ships! I could see you spending at least a few summers exploring Alaska.
Lol, that's funny, headlights. Thank u for the trip this summer! I have enjoyed every video, couldn't get out fishing this year but.....went travelling with u, awesome! Thank u 😁
There's a few videos on youtube that show a cheap and easy way to add a lights on alarm for when your ignition is off. The part is only about 5 or 6 bucks.
I so appreciate your videos. Learning much from your travels, enjoy your laughter, and spirit. If this were the early 1800's, you would most definitely be touring America in a Conestoga.
My goodness the mosquitoes are always horrible there. There is a little mixture I use for myself and my dogs: 1 Tablespoon of witch Hazel || 40 drops of rose geranium essential oil || 1/3 cup distilled water! Shake the spray bottle beforehand and spritz when needed. It repels ticks, flies, and mosquitoes.(Oh my!) SERIOUSLY, it is the best and non-toxic. Each batch will lose its potency with time and before long you've to mix anew. However, it it is such a small amount that you usually use it up.
Hey Carolyn THANKS!!! I appreciate the *Mid-June graphic you put up while you were talking about how many hours of daylight you had. (don't know if you just decided to do it, others commented, or just for my comment but I appreciate it either way! :) Definitely helps with planning our Alaska Trip) Also seems like a great idea using blankets for window blackout. Instead of just blocking the light it must help a lot as insulation also.
I'm binge watching these videos and my cheeks are honestly hurting from smiling so much! I think I said on another video that happiness looks so good on you, but it really does! Since Alaska is #1 on my bucket list, I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to binge watch these in order, but I am so enjoying them! And yes, you ARE a pro! And oh my gosh, did Capone have a superb life or what?!
heroine of solo women fulltime RV'ers. you are fearless! the bear episode had me on the edge of my seat. I kept telling hubby we will take the bus! keep trucking, be safe and God speed.
I can't say enough, just love it! Keep up good vlogging! Safe travels wherever you are now. I guess this video was recorded in JUNE??? You said in one before so guess this one still is June. It's amazing the cold in June. I so hope I can go up there to camp and experience the beautiful countryside after my property sells.
You knocked it out of the park with your cinematography in this one! I loved it. Not only could I feel the mood of the locations but I could feel the glee of your emotion. I wonder if you'll be sad to return to the lower 48. Hope you are having fun wherever you are at now. :)
Thank you once again for a gorgeous view of Alaska. Otter, rainbow giant mosquitoes. Wow! Just Wow! Capone appears to be enjoying himself. I think he looks younger! Bfbhbk!
lol love the video , by the way that " the cave " is what I call my trailer :) laughed so hard when you said that .Some day I may just get up and go and meet you at the RTR . It would be fun meeting you even for a few seconds. have a blessed day . Love your videos ,been watching the older ones as well as the new ones you post. I had lots of dark curtains hung in here with blankets over them -until my husband moved in with me again -now there is blinds hung and his cats have torn the tar out of them . :/
Wow that rainbow was amazing! I could see the mosquitoes flying past your camera...geez they looked huge! Great video! Thank you...oh btw yes you are a professional! Great job, Chicky!

I know I'm late watching this, but I just started looking into RV living. This Alaska trip is amazing. Thank you for taking me with you.
Thank you Carolyn, for a brief reprieve from all the flooding. It was nice to sit back and enjoy Alaska with you instead of the news. Love to you and Capone!

Chilly chilly. Lots of places and time to reflect on whatever life is offering you. Great scenery. It would be weird not having dark.
I used to be a day sleeper and I just used cheap old foil on the windows and taped it on with duct tape. Easy easy and no light showing through. Happy Camping.

You look so happy, Carolyn. Love, cat.
Have you tried a sleep mask to block the light when sleeping? I use one every night. Works great!
The night mask is probably a little too traditional, but it sounds like a good idea, to me, too...
Even the blindfold mask used in planes, seemed a bit simpler.
Beautiful, thanks. :)
All so wonderful.
Funny also 🙂
You bring me joy & Capone look at the ole boy, hugs to you both
lol love the video , by the way that " the cave " is what I call my trailer :) laughed so hard when you said that .Some day I may just get up and go and meet you at the RTR . I loved this video, you have a certain inner glow now that you didn't have before & it's very noticeable.
That was a good video, thank you.
Hi to you and Capone. He is a real gem. Maybe time to follow the sun ?
Thanks for sharing.
