What made KRP special was how all the characters came together into an amazing cast. Each had their role in making the show what it was.
Would it have been WKRP without Herb? Les? Jennifer? Bailey? Andy? Venus? Johnny? Mr. Carlson? Mr. Carlson's mother? Or even Hirsch?
That ensemble was magic. It was in perfect balance. Very rare to be able to catch that lightning in a bottle. Unfortunately it was before its time. But everytime I stumble upon an episode, I can't put it down and end up watching for the who knows how many-ith time.
RIP KRP. You'll be wondered about as long as the late Boomers and Xers are still living on the air somewhere.

And I would re-watch this show and have a greater appreciation for it. In fact, I would have loved loved to have worked for a Program Director like Andy Travis, who actually went to bat for his crew. Most of the PDs I worked for weren't so great. Many of them were just glorified Operations Managers, who were just junkyard dogs for corporate.

I loved WKRP. At the same time, it’s interesting to note the vein of liberal scumbaggery that runs through the show’s character. In this episode Fever takes a principled stand against the OTC pill craze that was huge at the time and largely targeted teens. But still the pro-drug culture of Hugh Wilson and the rest of the writers along with Hessman’s Fever character shines through brightly (note how charmed and impressed Fever is when Nessman demonstrates a knowledge of drug street names). Then the thing about switching to downers after the republicans got in, and then the slam against the second amendment.
Hollywood libs - they’ve always been scum.

Not really. Today’s cinema and TV is so poor, don’t even watch. By far, the best fiction that Hollywood creates these days is the false narrative they create to prop up the leftist, Marxist regime. I’ve completely lost interest in them, as have many others. Think about that.
