California football has NOTHING to do with public/private...you guys need to stop adopting outta town perspectives of football..that is THEIR weakness..Corona Centennial was named the 2nd most dominant team of th edecade in 2019...they are a publicschool who appeared in 6 State title games before Mater Dei appeared in their FIRST in 2017 a d Bosco in 2014..
and Long Beach Poly..the public school has the most NFL players in history and leads nearly EVERY year in local teams with NFL players...even as Mater Dei and Bosco have been on top the past 6 years...in 2000 De La Salle and Long Beach Poly shared the National Championship...public.private doesnt matter in California

Things have changed brotha. Yes starting players for Centennial, Mission Viejo, or Los Al can compete...but the depth on the bench is where the Boscos and Mater Dei's dominate. Private schools have players on the bench with Power 4 D1 offers. Not to mention parents of star players dont always want their kid going to inner-city schools. That's why your Dorseys and Crenshaws fell off...and kids mindset is different too. No excuses in football....but I gave you *general* reasons why things are different.

It’s a lot easier to keep a high level program at a private school over a public school

@@Ballinbmac is that why Corona Centennial (the public school) dominated SoCal football for 15 years before Mater Dei even played in its FIRST State title game in 2017..an St john Bosco in 2014??
In 2019, Corona Centennial (the public school) was named the 2nd most dominant California team of t e decade..and were beating BOTH Bosco and Mater Dei...
The dominant teams before Mater Dei and Bosco started their run 5 years ago were Corona Centennial, Crenshaw and Long Beach Poly...all PUBLIC SCHOOLS....public/private doesnt matter in Califnornia

@@Ballinbmac SoCal has HUNDREDS of schools in the same areas that share the same talent in th esame neighborhoods ...
St John Bosco is 15 minutes from Long Beach Poly, which is 20 minutes from Gardena Serra , which is minutes from Inglewood high....
pub;ic/private does n t MATTER in California...yall gone have to just accept that

@@HuChing-ob4kk Do you really think you're making a strong argument? Yes, there was a time when public schools were as good or better but those days are over. You keep talking about what Centennial did 5 years ago. What about now? Mission Viejo has a great program too, but they ain't beating Bosco or Mater Dei. @warnpeace1992 explained it perfectly. That's not to say there won't occasionally be a public school who can hang with the top private schools. Sometimes the stars align and you get a good group of kids for a year or two. However the days where public schools were the best of the best year in and year out are over and they ain't coming back

Long Beach Poly was 10-2 and were ranked as high as the Top 30 NATIONALLY last year...finishing in the Top 100 (98) Nationally I would say that makes them a Top school
