@@jml5227 I'm still stuck on Stage 9 Sol. That one fight took me from a button mashing noob to being actually competent at a fighting game for the first time outside Soul Calibur 3. I actually learned to play defense well because he forced me to lol. Playing GGX Advance in GG1 mode for the only other Missing Link style game lately and it's astonishing how good I got by repeatedly beating my head against the original Daisuke wall for a few days. I can do 50 rounds in GG1 mode survival easy enough but I still can't quite beat Arcade Sol in the real thing lmao. Also holy shit GGXA has no business being that damn good as both GGX and a pseudo Missing Link 2 with three versions of every character and an extensive custom recolor option for every one of them, on the GBA. That's as impressive as the anime come to life visuals of Fighterz and Strive in its own insanely ambitious way imo.

And the fact that a lot of them had consistency in what happened with each character (Zato/Millia/Venom stories as an example) was the cherry on top.

This game is so raw. Even the goofier endings like Millia's and May's carry legitimate emotional weight and pathos, this game is underrated for creating characters with struggles, pain and a real humanity to them.
+R is my personal favorite in the series, but as rough around the edges Missing Link may be there's a real refreshing honesty and passion put into it. I think that's why the game managed to spawn a franchise
The Justice intro may well be one of the greatest moments in fighting game history. I LOVE how well it's synced to the music! But wow actually seeing all the endings, these are surprisingly well done and fit into Guilty Gear's future lore much better than I expected. AND now I finally realize Ky's ending here is quoted in that Guilty Gear X anime clip! Neat!

That means i wouldn't completly blame him for his actions if he was out of it, Poor guy. It's much easier to redeem him than someone like Zato who killed people on purpose. And Testament was being mind controlled and forced against their will, its not their fault too. Very redeemable.

But Zato totally deserved what happened in his ending. And if you look at the bigger picture, Faust (Funny how nobody calls him "dr baldhead) did get a good ending... better than remaining a schizophrenic serial killer forever.

I applaud your efforts to make this video. I could barely beat Justice with only 3 characters. You did the whole roster. I takes me beyond 30 tries or I give up on the others since Justice's instant kill always gets me or her violent chest death beam.
Thanks! Usually, in fighting games, I tend to practice mostly every character and try to get all of their endings as much as possible. But man, it's not like I'm good with every character. Kinda like Axl, it took me like 2 hours of non-stop retries just to beat Justice, I know how it feels trying to beat Justice. Justice's spammable special chest death beam of hers (can do 3x in a row, it's crazy) was an insane boss fight to deal with. One of the hardest fighting game boss I've ever dealt with believe me. This is just an extra, but umm... If you like to know more about the first Guilty Gear game, I made a full review out of it, that covers every bit of the game possible :) you could try checking it out on my channel if you wanna
I managed to beat the game with all characters and it was extremely hard with some of them. Justice gets more aggressive as life goes down and there's this "hidden" mechanic that gives characters infinite overdrives, when they start flashing a red aura. Justice abused of this and loved to spam the overdrive.
If you get a knockdown with any character, you can keep walking up as they're knocked down, walk just out of range right as they get up, and then throw them. Loop forever, works with every character.
my favorites are sol, ky and kliff. like, all 3 feel so connected to this whole fight, Kliff even more than Sol. Zato is sad, and so kinda is Faust, altough i feel bad for Zato more.
@@A_B_1917, unfortunately, yeah, The GGX Plus version even has a gallery, mission mode, and even both Justice and Kliff there. Not sure why some games in JP have more content into it compared to the translated versions.
@@exterminator6935 If I remember it correctly... You gotta set in the "Guilty Gear Mode" on the options to have their black and gold characters, then press a specific button or something. The Guilty Gear mode is really difficult to pull off though. Gotta have to beat that 100 level survival mode, I only got lucky beating it with Faust. His spam attack can really confuse the AI that badly

whoever makes the PAL versions did a horrible thing to this game. when I played it, the "heaven or hell" intro had different letter format and the only existing cutscenes were the endings. all other dialogs and the Justice intro were removed.
Nah, I think not all of the endings here are canon. As far as I could remember... Sol was the one who's able to finish off Justice in the end. Some of the other endings like Ky Kiske, May, and Kliff are kinda like a half-canon thing. Except they weren't the ones who've beaten Justice in the end of course. But some of the parts of their ending did happened, like when Ky Kiske ends up questioning his own beliefs
The manga on the strive website had both sol and ky's endings happen with them both being present, and then it showed the last shots of the other endings happened
Sol canonically killed Justice, but Ky was able to get some words in with Justice, where her speech causes Ky to question her beliefs. Most of the other endings happen regardless, like Johnny busting out of jail, Eddie possessing Zato, or Millia gaining a fan. The only ending that's not even remotely canon is Kliff's, but that's because Justice just flat out killed him during the tournament.

If someone read me I have a question about the scenario : If I understand correctly, Testament organized the tournament, pretending it was an initiative from the United Nations to select the best fighters for the second Sacred Order. But the real reason behind was to sacrifice strong people in order to give their blood to "ressurect" Justice. Eventually the Testament's plan succeeded and Justice is back. But the fighters wasn't killed? I don't know the other games of the series but I imagine the most of the cast are alive and will go back in the next games? So how is the ressurection of Justice possible?
it's either : A) he probably needed a sample of blood, not a literal sacrifice, so he used the fights between everyone to his own advantage. B) fighting games are wildly criticized whenever huge roster changes are made (i.e soulcalibur v, sf3 new generation, tekken 4 etc.) so they can't really allow the death of most of the cast, especially not when only a handful of characters were introduced in TML, which is why retcons were made in the following games in order to prevent such an outrageous plot.
Pretty sure Baiken was supposed to but the game had development issues so she got converted into a vague secret character. They actually made that into canon, where she didn't take part in the tourney and was off to the side investigating it for connections to That Man.

Daisuke stated in an interview he had certain plot points planned all along while others he came up with retroactively. I think he definitely had the general idea of Sol's backstory down early, though he has also stated he didn't start thinking about Aria until Overture
Justice had gender neutral pronouns at the time in the Japanese version, which is why they translated it as a "he", as they didn't really have much of an idea about where to take Justice except for she knew Sol at the time.

Testament identifying as agender as of Strive isn't contradicting previous information (said info being based off of the Japanese version, since that's the most accurate to what Daisuke had in mind for the story.)

What changed? Fast forward to the 2020s, and suddenly that matters to a whole bunch of people for some reason, and the devs saw them as a group they could pander to. Strive can make the cast into whatever they want for all the P.R. it'll get them, its faults as a game on general combined with these redesigns have ensured I've long since left it behind. I prefer to remember GG as it was, when it was still metal.

TBF their voice sounded female in X2, so even though it was a retcon, it was one going farther back than Overture/Xrd.
