    I did not agree with her about much, but by God she was possessed of a greatness few will be blessed to know. Lord Powell said it best, "she was a dreadnaut amongst a fishing fleet." To borrow from Churchill, she was an English Worthy. Rest eternal, Maggie!

    As an American, please accept my most sincere respect and condolences to your nation and British peoples for the loss of the Great PM Margaret Thatcher. We, Americans, hold within our hearts as much love and respect for Prime Ministers Thatcher and Sir Winston Churchill as we do with our Great American President Ronald Reagan.
    We are “brother” nations, England, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, This American understands this as do most of the white American people, and we will always stand with Britain.
    Forgive America for our current pathetic “president obama” for the disgusting, embarrassing, insulting and disrespectful treatment that he showed England at PM Thatcher loss and funeral… he may just as well have sent a white house janitor to attend… “president obama” is an embarrassment to America, he doesn’t speak for us, he isn’t one of us…

      not all brits are so rude. please ignore the bitter comments.... yet again the thatcher haters show their nasty side. its not even an argument or political point to swear or celebrate death.
      as much as i hate the nasty words, her haters use, i am also so very happy that they still exist. it shows how weak her greatest enemies actually are in logic and it proves just how right she was to squash these type of idiots.
      believe it or not.... i was at one time a thatcher hater myself. it was only once i was challenged on my reasons that i then learned about her. i went from calling her a bitch to then having some sympathy and eventually becoming a fan.
      she would have been very pleased to know that so many people in the usa remember her and take the time to say nice things..... even if the current president cant be bothered.
      ronald reagan was the last great president.... in my view the greatest ever.

      LOL, these idiotic conservatives at it again. Glasnost and Perestroika ( These are russian terms, mind you, not english ones. ) and the successive fall of the Berlin wall are entirely the feat of Mikhail Gorbatchev, despite the bullshit conservative History rewriting. Looks like the conservatives are about as good at History as they are at Science.
      According to Wikipedia, "Gorbachev's policies of glasnost ("openness") and perestroika ("restructuring") and his reorientation of Soviet strategic aims contributed to the end of the Cold War. He removed the constitutional role of the Communist Party in governing the state, and inadvertently led to the dissolution of the Soviet Union. He was awarded the Otto Hahn Peace Medal in 1989, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1990 and the Harvey Prize in 1992, as well as honorary doctorates from various universities."
      There is a reason why none of these prizes went to Thatcher and Reagan. There is a reason it was written on the Berlin wall "Danke Gorbi !" (Thank you Gorbi) and not "Danke Maggie" or "Danke Ronnie": they didn't deserve any of these praises, he did.

    I am American and a great admirer of M.T. Her firm stand against socialism and communism are attributes to cherish. Reviewing her funeral video in 2016 has renewed my vision for the future as we here in America are facing the threat of big government and its legacy --- in which the left in our nation now wishes to shred our Constitution and usher in socialism. RIP dear lady, you are a great example of statesmanship!

      Yeah, she was great at other peoples expense. The non-militant workers of industry paid a heavy price because of her policies. Smashing industries left right & centre who weren't even militant or indeed loss-makers. If she had just smashed in all the Commies & left the rest alone, I'd say yes she was a great lady,but she wasn't. Old-school unions were piss-taking bastards that needed to be killed off as they were a cancer, not wiping out an entire industry based upon paranoia of workers & The Labour Party or The Militant movement who did need to be shot with live ammo.

      the mines were making a loss at that time and that if they were open today, then you would wish they would have closed ages ago because of how the taxes would rise and that means we would have had to pay more money and that she saved Britain from falling down the red line and I say GOD BLESS HER

      Ryan Brown Sadly, not so. The devastation her crazed actions brought to the mining communities alone, resulted in a massive burden in welfare for the tax-payer; unemployment trebled during her reign, remember. The massive costs incurred to save a few thousand sheep and penguins also had to be met by the tax payer (i could go on..........) In short, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer and I say MAY SHE ROT IN HELL

    • @ECLKWRIG
      @ECLKWRIG 8 лет назад +5

      Yep, UK's manufacturing industry on the verge of being non-existent, UK's coal-mining industry wiped out, the Belgrano, GCHQ disgrace, Toxteth riots, St. Paul's riots, sold off the utility companies, sold off the rail industry, Sterling de-regulated which lead to massive investment overseas rather than in the UK (so much for waving the flag patriotism, eh ?), NHS wrecked etc.. et.c. So true, history has indeed Judged the evil cow well.

    • @ECLKWRIG
      @ECLKWRIG 8 лет назад +1

      Better to have the opportunity to work than not to work at all ! Thanks to the evil Thatcher's monumental destruction of the UK's manufacturing base, the former option is no longer available to millions of people. It might surprise you to learn that even 21st century economies require fossil fuels, society still needs manufactured goods produced in factories; you want to go back to the Stone Age and have us all living off the land, living in cold dark caves, do you ? The fact that you find the Belgrano tragedy to be funny is hugely revealing as well as distasteful; FYI, the Belgrano posed no threat to the UK when it was shamefully torpedoed. And as for the Falkland Islands...................yeah right.....do you have any idea who they now trade and engage so happily with ?

    • @ECLKWRIG
      @ECLKWRIG 8 лет назад

      Even Douglas Hurd, John Nott and the Evil One have come to accept that the Belgrano was sailing away from the British 'task force' and that the Belgrano was actually outside of the UK imposed (not recognised by the UN) 'Exclusion Zone'. Your dismissive use of the term "socialists" is hugely revealing and naïve; I would suggest you utilise the term 'moralists' in future. Sickening also is your revelation that the Evil One was deliberately hell-bent on an armed conflict with Argentina as this would assure her of future electoral victory; certainly an abuse of power, an abuse of ethical standards of democracy. Again, your naivete comes to the fore with your flawed understanding of Mr. Scargill; I will ask you a simple question...........who told the truth about the number of coal pits that would close ????????As for your flawed economic analysis of UK industrial potential, I would advise you that the Evil One is entirely to blame for the fact that the UK has "very little industry left"; one of the first things the Evil One did when she lied her way into office was to abolish the controls on the amount of Sterling that could exit the country; in her next dog breath she announced that the top rate of income tax would be slashed. The Evil One assured critics and economists alike that this would not lead to a mass exodus of UK funds, of a transfer of major investment outside of the UK, to competitors abroad.........and guess what happened ? That is the real reason the UK manufacturing base was allowed to collapse; certainly nothing to do with "the unions" ! I suggest you take a more empirical view of domestic economics and politics over the last 50 years rather than confining your 'research' to the grubby pages of the Daily Mail.

    • @ECLKWRIG
      @ECLKWRIG 8 лет назад +1

      I am tempted to laugh myself, but, frankly, the tone of your support for evil, death and destruction disgusts me and renders levity obscene. It is you who actually miss the point.....................as recently as 2012, the Argentine president confirmed the sinking of the Belgrano as a "war crime"; by unilaterally declaring a 200-mile exclusion zone and then ignoring their own parameters to kill over 300 Argentine servicemen who were actually outside of that zone, does not covet the Royal Navy with glory, quite the opposite. As for my "hate" of the Evil One (and yes, she must be held responsible for the deaths of so many new-born babies as her actions cost the necessary funding for countless life-saving medical interventions - see 'baby Holly' for example, from the 80's) I regard hate as a juvenile concept; I prefer to say I informedly despise everything (except for making the wearing of seatbelts mandatory, the only decent thing she ever, ever did) attributable to the Evil One. You, however hate "socialists, hate "Scargill" and hate what you naively term "militant unions". And, I'm not surprised (LOL) , but you are so so wrong about Scargill and his prediction about the number of pits that would close; he was way off ! The number of closures actually far exceeded even his worst beliefs....so yet again, you need to develop and enhance your limited powers of research; still, at least you have to agree that the Evil One lied about the number of closures herself. The real "downside" is that "32 years later", there are still gullible onlookers/commentators who blame the unions for everything, ignoring the Evil One's lies, HER disastrous dismantling of the UK's industrial base, HER freeing up of the banks and financiers, HER selling off of all our precious utility companies to overseas concerns et.c.. And, as for your, childish aside about my working status, I can assure you that I do still work (no thanks to the Evil One); when I choose to take annual leave and what I do during same, has ziddly-squat to do with you.
