Somewhere there is a true cowboy that rides a production or factory made saddle but we’ve never run across them. True hands ride shop made or individually crafted saddles. Padded seats, rough out leather and synthetic fleece are true markers of cheap saddles.
it does not matter what saddle anybody rides in. what makes a cowboy a cowboy is the fact that he works on a ranch with cattle everyday. Saddles dont have a say in what you are. Clearly you dont know that. Any cowboy can ride in any saddle he chooses. BTW factories seem to make some really high quality saddles.
@@banjoboy1337 Disagree. Having ridden hundreds of different saddles, i do recognize some some high quality factory saddles, like Bobs, Blue Ribbon, Leddy, etc, but if you are going spend that much why not go the extra mile and get the personal touch? Production saddles are forced to monitor cost and use trees that warp or will sore a horse’s back. A shop made saddle will only use the heart of several hides from aged cattle with dense tissue fiber. Production saddles frequently use more of the hide thus thinner belly or flank leather get into the finished product. The leather on production saddles frequently varies from side to side, shop made never. Production saddles many times will use artificial fleece, pot metal hardware, and many, many nails to secure flimsy rigging. That’s my observation over the past 60 years of making a living from the back of a horse but everybody has a right to their opinion.

The last saddle is a barrel saddle, no one ranches in a barrel saddle the horn would snap off the first couple cows you rope

@banjoboy1337 well we know you buy into tv definition of a cowboy.
Padded seats are NOT for true Riders doing ranch work. Ride the Horse and not the saddle.
Like she’s ever owned a saddle
This channel has no idea about saddles.
