kids this days are very fortunate, back then you need to buy a book or go to a library, no opensource software, all are proprietary, no youtube tutorial videos on tech, no free coupons for courses no free courses.. but now you can learn everything you want with a click of a button, but most kids are just taking it for granted.

Doing open source projects and unpaid internships both are different. Open source is basically like you want to contribute in something that everyone is using it and even you to make it more perfect. While internship is you are working for someone why you do it for free if you have good skills remember everyone has value of their time.

Just giving my 2 cents here. Free advise. Dude get in a good college life will be much easier. In the end, the harsh reality is that companies will still prefer 1-2 tier vs 3tier for anything. Unless you are very lucky, getting into 3 tier clg, 95% of the time youll follow the average path. Looking at the competetion right now, the more you shine, the better your chances will be. This is actually happening to me rn, so I'm not making any of this up. Yes, you can do open source and stuff full on during all your clg time but when you sit down and do the actual math and find out the probability of getting a good return of investment from doing all this from a 3tier clg vs getting in a better college, it's like day and night. Good luck in life!
@@_DashingAdi_ ok its been a while and i did the same thing actually, did some internships (most were online due to covid), enough to build a resume. Still, i wish i had done them in big corps like amazon, gs etc. Eventually i got placed through dumb luck in my college placements with a good starting package, I'd say that the exp from internships acts as a primer, you still to be very good with dsa. The exp will highlight you, the dsa will help you get the offer. That is, if you get the interview. Keep yourself humble and keep grinding. It'll pay off sooner or later And yeah, ppl from better colleges get better offers in the same company.
