Exactly. However african mums especially in the village tend not to be overly gentle with babies. Its just the way it is. And the babies are NOT harmed and grow up gritty. This is of course different from Asian culture where a baby remains in a cocoon untill they are a teen:) so this is just a culture difference too. It will just be interesting to find out if she eventually adapts to the Chinese way of life

As a Southern African myself, I think she needs to help her inlaws more on the farm and learn new skills, also she needs to be more gentle on how she carries the baby.
