- In this video I am reviewing the T&G TG 166 Wireless Bluetooth speaker. It's rated at 5W. The price on this speaker as of June 2020 is almost $4USD. If it looks familiar that is because it looks like the JBL GO or JBL GO2 Bluetooth speaker from JBL.
It's small, compact but also very loud. The bass is nothing compared to the JBL GO but it's understandable because its a low cost speaker.

I just realized that the USB port on the TG 166 that I got doesn't really work. I used like 4 different flash drives and it doesn't even read the files. Maybe my one is defective or did this happen to anyone else?

Nothing is wrong with the USB port, the files I was trying to play were m4a which is not supported, I converted them to mp3 now I can listen to music.

or you can change the file extension by editing the name of file from .m4a to .mp3

there's a new compact speaker from t&g. its tg196. hopefully you can do a soundtest.

This speaker isn't for everyone, it's loud but the bass is not that great. You can always use the built-in equalizer from your music player to make it sound better. What you guys think?

sir! can you do a battery upgrade.. it would be nice to upgrade it because mine was suck... playtime is only 1 hour on full volume.

Yes it has a passive radiator but it's not splashproof

Hard to say because I don't have the TG 505 anymore.
How do you know if the charge is full ? Is there a button,sound, notification or something who tells you that the charge it's already done full and complete ✅ ?

Yes, was using it at 50% volume. Could go more than that, it just depends on what your playing really and the volume level.
i own 1 of these. sound quality is ok considering its size but almost no bass at all
Yeah true, I usually just use an equalizer app on my phone to make speakers like these sound a bit better.

Well... I have Fake JBL GO2 For roughly same price
The thing is... THEY literally deliberately make this speaker have no bass, before goes to amplifer, they add a capasitor, witch as we know, remove the low frequency.
Bypass the capasitor if you want a bit more bass
Also... Try use cheap amplifer like PAM... Whatever the number is... Its 15W amplifer and good enough for this speaker.
Also yes... I tried to power its driver with TPA3116d2 and it almost died...
You my friend are one step ahead of me, I'll try and see if i can bypass that capacitor you mentioned, IF I can find it. 😂
I think The TG 166 Is the cheapest bluetooth speaker Of T&G
cheap with really bad quality battery, this thing already dead and I haven't used it a lot.
