Your next step: write a book. I'm totally serious, please think about it. You are a cogent thinker, articulate spokesman, and I believe you are, in essence, a teacher. Among the many things I appreciate about this video, I love that you pull out old-school vinyl. You're an old soul, and that's part of your appeal. But dude, no cellophane should remain on your vinyl albums! I learned the hard way, back in the 80s (yes, I'm ancient) that the plastic continues to shrink, and will warp your records. Sadly, I have some hopelessly wonky Springsteen and Eurythmics albums to prove it. Please learn from my mistake! I love your content, Frank; for me, you're the most relatable RUclips creator out there. And I'll add this: Your VEDA videos are among my all-time favorites of yours. You have, I think, a new-found confidence and comfort-level in front of the camera that shines through.
The thinking vs feeling is so tricky in relationships, and hard to get just right. You can be super intellectually compatible with someone and even find them attractive, but there just isn’t that extra feeling of magic to it, but you can have these strong irresistible feelings for someone that doesn’t make any rational sense to be with. It seems that psychology often explains this through childhood attachments. But this doesn’t get us any closer to understanding what’s right for us. Though if we are heavy on the F, probably a relationship won’t feel satisfying if those strong feelings aren’t there.
This is a random comment that I’m leaving here. When I finally let my guard down (wish that guard would just go the f away) I finally reach out to people. And you know what? That’s what we’re supposed to be doing as human beings. Talking to each other, working and laughing together, helping each other. You are doing all that with your channel, and I thank you for that inspiration.
I enjoyed your Beatles idea. So I paused your video. I started thinking of classical music. Sure enough a whole slue of classical musical writers popped up. I have to tell you it was amazing to listen to all the different styles. I enjoyed them all. Some would drive me insane if I wasn’t in the mood. Others I could really sense their vibe. Not that I understand all MBTI yet. I’m only in the learning phase. I did find the INFJ more relaxing for me. I think I’m an INFJ still exploring. Sometimes I get lost and have to find my way out. What a hoot 🦉! Hooty Hoo! I don’t know if that means anything but certainly gives me another way of checking things out. I first thought of Mozart and found that much more aggressive than others. Thank you! 😊 it makes me smile. You’re a genius!
I loved it. I like to think as an infj I'm pretty balanced on this one. I'm heavier on the thinking in business and heavier on the feeling in social life. The thinkers can be a bit more emotionally out of touch in relationships but be more grounded to the external facts of everyday life responsibilities like taking care of finances Etc. They collect data from the five senses predominantly. Feelers are more in tune with the soul Realm and are grounded by the unseen World of intangible values. The answer to the why questions are a huge motivation to them.
I always struggle when it comes to thinking and feeling, like for example, I start thinking about something and suddenly it turns to feelings if that makes any sense. Great video man.
Could you possibly talk more about The Beatles and maybe even other music? You have a way of explaining things in such an emotional way and without losing sensibility. Would love to see you review records ❤️
the beatles rock my heart and soul...grew up as a teen in the 80s in THIS is what i listened to...no cyndi lauper, janet jackson, metallica....beatles. hits my heart
"Bring the man to me." The songs at the end make my day. Sometimes it's difficult to understand whether I'm thinking about something and being super rational or if it's just my feelings towards something. I think the way you explain it. As always great video FJ.
I'm finding this hilariously mindblowing. I'm an F (in theory) and referencing "When I'm 64" as practical and thinking from Sir Paul is fascinating to me. My absolute shot in the dark guess based off this video and my own thoughts and feelings on McCartney and Lennon is that Sir Paul is a T and Lennon an F.....and I've always preferred the simplicity with which Sir Paul has sung about love. In addition to the one you used as an example, my personal favorite love song of his is "I Will." This is so fascinating. I love that you've used the Beatles to illustrate and educate. It only I'd stumbled across you and this sooner.
Thank you, FJ! I love this type of explanation. That song...oh the feels. It's the 50th anniversary of The Beatles: Yellow Submarine film. They're having a screening of it here at the end of the month. No list of reasons needed to go.
Yeah, I had to write down some of those lyrics. I don't always know names and artists of songs, just know what I like. I really should pay more attention. I remember being in elementary school and everyone wanting to grow their hair longer because of the Beatles. I'm a girl but had to fight my mom to let my hair grow. Ever notice how short haired mothers have short haired children and vice versa? Making mini-me's? Once at the dinner table she told me if I didn't have clean washed and combed hair for dinner, she would cut off an inch of hair each time. The first time she hacked off at least SIX inches "I have to make it even" she said. Arghhhh!! Traumatizing. Dang woman if you don't know how to cut hair even then don't do it. But I had clean hair after that, you betcha. Maybe she felt bad. Even at expensive hair salons, when I agree to let someone trim an inch, they always take more. So I started taking a little ruler with me, asking them ahead of time what their definition of an inch was. they'd show me their fingers spread apart, and it was usually 2-3 inches. Nope, takes a year to grow out 6 inches of hair. If I went every 2 months my hair would get shorter and shorter.
Another cool vid for this morning, Frank. Today, I'm celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary with my wife that I met online, and we're both Beatles fans who were getting married for our second time. One of the funny coincidences we found out about each other before we met each other in person is that we both picked "In My Life" as our father-daughter/mother-son song to dance to at our wedding receptions for our first weddings. And we both joke from time to time about the "When I'm 64" song. Anyway, the combination of your mentions of those two songs and online dating in addition to the timing of my anniversary was totally worth dropping a comment on here. Usually, I just hit the like button and/or type a long comment that I end up deleting before sending. Keep on keeping on.
I´d generally say that Feelers tend to interpret more meaning into their emotions, they can´t stand the fact there might be the possibility this heavy reaction they´re experiencing is not of much or sufficient value.
I met once with my financial guy, and he asked how things were going, and I gave an honest answer. He told me to take all that emotional stuff and ignore it and put it under the table, he actually made gestures while saying "Let's put all of that stuff over here" and then he only wanted to talk pure logic. I understand he's doing his job, but I am a whole person and my emotions affect things like decisions. It was actually very invalidating.
Recovering Soul Yeah reminds me of those people where I always get the feeling they don't know how to deal with emotions very well so they try to belittle them and make you think they aren't worth much or anything at all ignoring the fact they are a part of you and you can't just switch them off. Sucks
A year late but hey ho I’m more of a thinking type and I read so deep into emotions. I guess it’s partly the analytical side of me or whatever. I don’t “feel” very frequently but when I do it tends to be as a result of something super complex and “deep” and I’ll literally sit there and take it apart like why am I feeling this was what’s causing it how is it manifesting. Though I’m more thinking I never suppress emotions Cos well what’s the point 🤷♀️
@@mauve9266 I think there is a difference. Feelers will try to interpret some meaning or value in the emotion. Thinkers tend to think of reasons and analyse their emotions. We all go deep lol
Kafaya Adebayo I didn’t really mean deep 😂 just didn’t have another word at the time hence the “” but Yh I think there’s a difference in how they deal with emotions
Have you seen the channel I think called 12 Tone? I'm not a musician so not sure I'm saying this correctly. But he analyzes different songs and chords and music theory maybe??? on what feelings they cause. He doesn't show his face, just doodles music notes and little pictures while playing the notes and talking about them. It's pretty interesting. For FJ too if he hasn't seen it.
Rubber Soul is my favorite. I'm going to tell you a beautiful story and then ask a stupid question. I played "In My Life" at my wedding. The wedding party had already walked down the aisle, and my dad and I stood at a balcony that was sheltered by a wall of ivy. The saxophone quartet started playing and I played the first verse on my flugelhorn. I could only see a few faces. The flugelhorn for me is such an instrument that I don't ever have to try - the sound just pulls out of me. When I turned around my dad had tears streaming down his face. I had been so calm until that point. He walked me down the stairs and I got married. My husband didn't know I was planning on doing that. (Kind of made it awkward when he asked if he could do the mother/son dance to "In My Life.") I think I was confused by something in another video, so could you please clarify if you have time - T/F are the judging functions? It makes sense, BUT why is Ni the dominant function of INFJ? I think I missed something. For some reason I had it in my mind like the J meant that a judging function was the dominant function, so I thought N/S were the judging functions. Your channel is inspiring me a lot in these last few days. :) Take care.
That is a beautiful story :) J or P in the 4-letter type means what is the first extraverted function. So INFJ's first extraverted function is Judging, Fe, but since we are introverts, it is our second function. An ENFJ on the other hand has Fe first because they are extraverts.
Frank James Somehow I knew that part...interesting system indeed. (Edit) Nope, I was backwards. I thought ENFJ first function was Extroverted Intuition. I guess that does make more sense.
Perfect outtro for this vid. I think the scales symbolize Feeling. Its weighing/evaluating what's more important and may be what a person likes. I don't think its about emotions per say. Although, people can have strong emotions on the things they value. More often than not, the best decisions coming from combining Thinking & Feeling. The brain and the heart are both satisfied.
I love that you used The Beatles to explain this concept in a very simple yet effective way. Also like you, I can't help getting choked up when i listen to or even think about 'In My Life'. Guess that's my INFJ traits kicking in. Also thanks for talking about George. He's my favorite.
You know that one teacher you had in school that was way too excited about the subject she was teaching? And it made you laugh at her and how rambunctious she got over telling you things? And then you realized that you retain the information so much better because she put it in a way that almost drew you in? That's the feeling I get when you discuss music on your Channel. I've been neglecting learning things musically for maybe a decade I've just been kind of stuck. I just listen to things because they sounded good to my ears and didn't put much thought into the meaning behind it. I thought maybe it was just because I was getting older and had different priorities but now I realize this spark was still there for how much I love music and how much I want to know about music. So thank you very much for that! And now I've got a question for you. In relation to Myers-Briggs do you think that there is a band that encompasses a healthy balance for infj specifically?
Wing &Waves thank you for being you, the world needs more of it! And I'm sure you impacted many growing minds to push themselves to achieve their dreams with passion :)
Awwwww Thank you so much for your kind thoughts. You made me tear up, In a good way of course. And yes, that was the goal no matter the emotional uniqueness of my students. And we all learn or retain info in our own ways. I feel Blessed to have worked my dream job and the longest time at the school of my dreams.Back in the days before that Disgusting, No Child Left Behind BS! When we had the freedom to teach using all kinds of cool learning tricks. Many of them have gone on to do amazing things. One student sent me a photo last year of him hanging out in South Africa with Mos Deff and Cadandra Wilson!!!!! Sadly nobody hipped me to the fact that after so many years of jumping on top of kids desks to sing bad, very bad fake opera with an oversized red, plastic wiffleball bat as a makeshift mic or having to often restrain ones before they hurt themselves or other students, that I'd get so ill and had to leave that place. And i only left kicking and screaming :( Now many of them are grown with kids and even Grandkids of their own!!!!! I think my FB has more exstudents than family lol And I hope you have a great day wherever you be on this tiny blue dot of a planet screaming through space :)
Manifest Destiny Dear Andrea Grace! It's your life, go for it :) Even if it takes many slow steps until you fly! Spend that quality time with yourself, and very cool tunes too lol, and jot down your goals and a viable action plan to achieve them :)
When you ended the video the rhythm made me think of, "Hey! You've got to hide your love away." Thinking & feeling? I believe it is on one of the anthology albums. I truly enjoyed this, and as a INFJ music can help me to recharge.
My daughter lifted all my Beatles records and I let her have them. She is a profound Beatles fan. Millenials are wonderful and I feel more in touch with them than my own generation. Maybe Beatles songs are etched in my heart or I took them for granted as I released my records to her. But were old yard sale scratchy records. This makes me want to start a new pristine collection, and play the lovelies on my record player. Will cost a pretty penny me thinks. I did obsessively listen to Beatles and Elvis in Junior High, a bit retro then even, saving up all my allowance to order an album called History of British Rock. Phases of two obsessions at a time with music, a pattern. And I ramble.
As a huge Beatles I've been digging the MBTI/Beatles vids. I'd love it if you could type the other Beatles besides John. I think it'd be especially interesting to see George typed as he's often considered an INFJ. I'd love to see if you agree with that assessment. I also really appreciate Only a Northern Song. Jamie Hoover did a pretty cool cover of it. If you haven't heard it, you should check it out. It's not as weird as the original, but I find it interesting as it's a totally different take on the song...much more upbeat.
You absolutely glow when talking about the Beatles. RESPECT!! Also dawned on me how perfect an example of how double deciding works when you read GHs lyrics to a Northern Song. You can almost feel the Fe Ti talking to each other. Thanks FJ!
Great post this morning FJ. Of course In My Life can rip our hearts right out of our throats!! I'm not sure if it's just me or my synesthesia but for me all of your examples leave me Both thinking and feeling :) Not many years back I had a house full of 25-30ish folks visiting and Not a One of them had ever seen nor heard of Yellow Submarine!!!! Can you even imagine such a thing?!?! So I put it on for them and sat back to watch their reactions :) Priceless is all I can say, absolutely priceless! Who raised these kids that they'd never even heard of or seen Yellow Submarine!!! Blasphemous!!!! Fyi, my Yellow Submarine lamp and some first edition Beatles LP's for sale in pristine condition and kept in heavy plastic sleeves for sale or trade. From some things you've said in other RUclips's in think you're only a couple hours south of me or less. I'll gladly trade you those for doing my very, very easy taxes :D And it's very pretty up here for a fun day adventure. There's even a Drive-in :)
Anise Except for cigarette.... Cigars seem cooler. My freshman year of college had a suitemate, female, told me she once dared someone that she would get all dressed up, go to an opera and sit down in the lobby and smoke a cigar. And she did!! She was one of those who insisted on being called Catherine not Cathy, and I'm pretty sure she was saving herself for marriage. Just imagining her in the full length gown smoking a cigar still cracks me up. This was before they outlawed smoking in buildings.
Revolution 9: deconstructing music and culture while still adhering to rhythmic and semiotic motifs and progressions while evoking a perhaps not always pleasant emotional response. (Beatles thinkers song example; Ne/Ti imo) Great video. Your humor is fucking lovely.
Well, I guess we can add yoga to your ever-lengthening list of skills, because that stretching was top-notch. :) It's interesting to note that T types seem to be able to use their more developed logic and reason to make an emotional appeal. In "When I'm Sixty-Four," the imagery of a cottage, grandchildren, etc, evoke emotions such as well-being, security, and contentment. And perhaps F types can sometimes use their feelings to reach more sound conclusions than someone who aims for objectivity alone. The first example that comes to mind is how Winnie the Pooh will often say something very wise and thoughtful, while Rabbit can't see what's right under his nose because he has too many pre-conceived notions that he assumes are fact.
I wonder if that white rabbit has anything to do with Grace Slick's white rabbit or the Matrix's white rabbit? What does the White Rabbit mean? I'll have to look it up in Gematria.... Hey I put my ex husband's name in there and got the matching phrase of Satan's Seed. Nothing I didn't already know.
Dunno ....Thinking or feeling songs are ultimately all “feeling” songs to me ..... they either trigger or nurture emotions that very little else can. Music either helps to make sense of some abstract thoughts or deep set feelings or I’ll use music to communicate and influence my own thoughts/feelings ....neurologically, in the neurosciences there’s some great evidence for how music influences neurotransmitters, grey matter and cognition. Great book to read is Daniel Levitin’s ‘This is your Brain on Music’ ........now why did I say all this again?
Andrea Gordon, YES!!!! Neurotransmitters can MOVE and reattach to far more healthy receptors that kick in a better balanced us with waaay less anxiety and sadness and Healthier release of natural euphoric, positive and Confidante responses to situations without kicking in the scarier brain chemistry of Adrenaline and Cortisol. Then we can be the river not the leaf. Although that's often a way cool way to great fun it doesn't always get the job done at times we need to focus more on responses not reactions and become solution oriented not problem oriented. So anyway, speaking of the river...one day a couple of bananas were chilling out in the sun on a lovely day just hanging on the river bank when all of a sudden doesn't a little turn come floating along in the tide. Seeing the bananas he calls out to them shouting," Hey there fellas, jump on in, it's a great day to be in the water, Come on in!!!!" The first banana looks at the second and asks," Ya believe that sh*t?" Heeeheeeeeeeee :)
I think the intent of the song tends to provoke feelings for others. But how a type goes about that is the difference. T & F can come to the same conclusion but different ways to get there.
Thinking type songs: In the Time of Our Lives-Iron Butterfly (prob Ne-Ti) Once in a Lifetime-Talking Heads (def Ti--Ne) Constantly Changing-Young Marble Giants (Ti-Ne) Prove it-Television (Te-Si) London Calling-The Clash (Ti-Se) In the Gallery-Dire Straights (Ti-Se) Helpless Automation-Men at Work (Ti-Ne)
FJ-I enjoy and learn so much from you that this INTP is actually taking 10 seconds to tell you. You can say "cool" but of course, don't expect a follow-up comment... just know that I am still here....watching....analyzing....planning...accomplishing very little of course....
I am a T person (INTP) and The Beatles are my favourite band in Universe. My favourite Beatles' song is "In my Life", it's so amazing how John described that sense of nostalgia. I can feel it. I love feelers singers songwriters, as John Lennon, Leonard Cohen, James Blunt, because they make me connect me with my inner feelings. It is so good cry listening a great song.
Thank you, FJ! For me personally, it's harder to understand than Sensing vs. Intuition. But you gave us a great explanation. Please do more of these videos. Extremely appreciated)
I dont really understand it all about the mbti, but it seems to me that intuition and feeling really get along, while sensing and thinking get together pretty well too. It all sounds kind of the same to me. If a person preceive the world by intuiting, he gets everything in his mind via abstract ideas, it sounds to me like he feels everything. Nothing has an actual reason, its just feels right or feels wrong. And the same goes for sensing and thinking- if you precive the world by your five senses, if you view it all in a concrete way, doesnt it mean that you will probably also make decitions the same way? By stating actuall reasons for something? Objective reasons, based on facts, facts that you know because you used your senses? How can it be anyway different? Again, theres a lot I dont quite understand about it, Im not sure everything I wrote here made sense...
Intuition and Feeling are not related in the MBTI - you can read more about the various functions here: www.careerplanner.com/8CognitiveFunctions/Cognitive-Functions-Simply-Explained.cfm I won't go into deeper detail as you can read about it in the link, but basically Intuition revolves around how a person generally gathers information while Feeling is about how a person generally makes decisions. These are two vastly different cognitive activities.
Nope I don't get on with feelings dominants very well at all and I'm an INFJ (so an intuition dom). It doesn't work how out how you're thinking it does - it's all far more complex than that. Actually INFJs get on very well with other intuitive doms and also we get on with many thinkers just fine due to our Ti tertiary.
Hey Frank! Could you please do these videos for all the types? I vs E and J vs P? These videos are really helpful to me, since I don't know myself very well anymore, but I want to. And the way you explain it... just makes so much sense.
Do you mean he's done videos on each of the 4 letter positions? Or each of the 16 personality types? I think I need (I FEEL I need) a chart listing all 16 types on the X and Y axis and which combinations would be best for friendships, and romantic relationships, and maybe even business dealings.
Thank you, FJ, for explaining the differences between the functions. One of my primary grievances with the MB test is you take it, it gives you insight into how you think, but no one else. And that's a problem for introverts cus 70% of the pop are extroverts. And that's a problem for INFJs because we often smell when something is amiss, but can't really explain why, and then that thing turns out to be bigger than we imagined. And I'm sorry for feeding into paranoia
Not a big Beatles fan but I think I got your point about Feeling and Thinking. I had a drink in a yellow submarine once. It was a bar in Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia. It was an actual WW2 submarine painted yellow.
Interesting interpretation...10 Years and TOOL have some pretty good thinking vs feeling songs. You should check em’ out if you haven’t ;) Have a good one, Frank.
I love your channel because of you and your personality. You make me laugh, going over Myers Briggs and that is quite a feat. Maybe take that Rubber Soul out of the plastic! If it gets hot that’s insulation and you could warp your vinyl, man! 😱
Who needs to go to the gym to work out when you can do yoga with FJ ;) lol! The explanation of T vs. F is hilariously stretched , but it actually makes a lot of sense! I’m really digging those songs at the end of the videos (:
Sam Ira Ya just a slight bit of verbal yoga going on with the T/F thing ;) But was an interesting take on when I'm 64 because I'd myself not think of it in that way.
Sam Ira I analyse lyrics all the time for thier meaning, but it wasn't until I began studying MBTI last year that I started to go oh I think this person is an SF or this person is an NF and so on. With that particular song I kindof thought it was perhaps the person's personal feeling that such and such should happen in the future. It seemed kindof self directed like will you still need me will you still feed me..which kindof made me think of Fi but who knows :)
Feelers generally ask for example their child what colour shoes they want out of a and b (even if its same shoes) whereas thinkers don't see logic in asking for preference if it's same shoe or any point in asking since they're just a child.
Super helpful. Frick... Thank you so much!! Edit: The part where James compared thinking to a resume and feeling to a dating profile. You wouldn't normally put your resume on a dating profile. I got confused with the music. They both sound like Thinking to me or atleast based on how they were described
Judging functions Feeler thinks, still intelligent Thinking feels, still cries Thinking based on objectivity Feeling based on subjectivity Resume - Reasons Tinder - Likable? When I’m 64 - Why I will be useful In my life - I just like you. I like you more than all.
On the other hand, extroverted feeling bases its value system on others rather than itself. It is not satisfied until it has been able to make itself useful to others. As long as others are okay, the Fe-user is okay. If others are sad, the Fe-user will be sad too.” They love to carry everyone along in terms of feelings and Fe is very sensitive to an external emotional atmosphere. That's why it is known as a mirror function. So feelers are generally compassionate, but the most compassionate would be the Fe-doms and Fe-aux. Fe-doms = ENFJ and ESFJ Fe-aux = ISFJ and INFJ.
Sometimes wish I were not this way. Far too easy for others to use me and hurt me. Took the online tests for Empath and Highly Sensitive Person HSP, yes to both. When I fall in love it is deeply and forever. Even if the relationship ends I always love that person. I just CANNOT turn it off even if they were evil to me. Only really happened twice. One died, and the other was evil. I'm done. Except my children, god I miss them.
If you want a song that deals with facts and cause/ effect then "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel or "Honesty" are good choices. All of the beatles songs are reflective and feeler type songs.
I connected with quite a bit, actually. I'm probably close to your mom's age, so I have a lot of affinity for the 60' and 70s. I don't mind sharing music I like with others, but I take it a little personal when they don't like it, or aren't as enthralled by it as I am. My husband is a bit younger, so sometimes he doesn't get the context of a song. But we're both INFJs, so other songs we really love in almost the same way, like lots of Alternative! Anyway, I know this was a couple or so years ago, but it's still relevant.
You brought up internet dating, which brought to mind my friend who now claims, just two weeks after meeting a guy on the dating app pof, she has "fallen in love". We'll see about that. I may be meeting him next week. Ugh.
Well you can "fall in love" in two weeks depending on how much time you spend with someone, but it's generally just a butt-headed infatuation caused by a pair of rose-colored glasses. Or your friend might have fallen into the claws of someone with NPD. I'd definitely keep an eye out for that kind of behavior if I were you, so you can help point out any red flags to your friend.
Kristian Jensen I will try to be the voice of reason if I see any NPD earmarks. She does not have the best track record in relationships, so I would think she would take things more slowly and guard her heart a bit more.
I value objectivity but maybe I do because I feel like it’s the right thing to do. I remember learning about the scientific method in the third grade I still have that text book, if only I thought more. Thanks for the videos.
Your next step: write a book. I'm totally serious, please think about it. You are a cogent thinker, articulate spokesman, and I believe you are, in essence, a teacher. Reading this in 2020...What do you think about your boy FJ these days?
@@TheAngiepangie424 what do you mean?
I'm from the future, he didn't. He's too much of a perfectionist to write one

He already has.
Motive = Feeling
Reason = Thinking
OMG YOHANE !!! yoshiko is an INFP i think
I love you frank. your charm chokes me up like a beatles song.
Been listening to "In my Life" all day today. I got so teary when hearing it for the first time. Just beautiful! Thanks FJ
Hauntingly beautiful song
Though I'm not an INFJ, you're becoming one of my favourite RUclipsrs. I was literally looking forward for today's video. #BeatlesForever
YES! I'm loving the Beatles analogies!
FJ! Is that you singing and strumming at the end?
I looove examples with music and lyrics, I grew up listening and analyzing lyrics on my own all the time, and I love when other people do it too!
I love the Beatles, so I was excited when I woke up to this video on my birthday
happy birthday yo
Whoa, thanks!
Would love to see you review records ❤️
i'm glad to hear you say so, i would love to talk more about music! maybe i'll do it tomorrow...
It’s so inspirational seeing how far you’ve come Frank. I’ve watched you for almost 4 years.❤❤❤
Frank! You’ve done! Your channel is my Favorite cuz I’ve been a huge Beatles Fan forever. Great video Mate!
the beatles rock my heart and soul...grew up as a teen in the 80s in THIS is what i listened to...no cyndi lauper, janet jackson, metallica....beatles. hits my heart
"Bring the man to me." The songs at the end make my day. Sometimes it's difficult to understand whether I'm thinking about something and being super rational or if it's just my feelings towards something. I think the way you explain it. As always great video FJ.
I'm really enjoying all you're sharing with us this month 😁
This is the best video I could ask for. My 2 favourite things, MBTI and the Beatles.
I love that song. That song ALWAYS makes me cry. "There are places I remember......
Robert Brewer, That was a beautiful post!! Happy Anniversary and Thank You for sharing your beautiful story with us :)
Happy aniversary from thr future

I'll add my favorite quote, just because: "Only connect." - EM Forster, Howards End
I think I feel good about this video you made. Really like your outro songs because honestly it's such a delight to laugh at 6AM.
Sucks
A year late but hey ho
I’m more of a thinking type and I read so deep into emotions.
Thanks for including George. I love George
Loved the beatles analogy,
Shoehorn it right in as it works 😊
Just the fact you actually have the old school vinyls...oh man, that’s just beautiful. Now I’m choked up...
I’m really enjoying listening to you talk about music history/lyric meaning. 💛
(Kind of made it awkward when he asked if he could do the mother/son dance to "In My Life.")
I think I was confused by something in another video, so could you please clarify if you have time - T/F are the judging functions? It makes sense, BUT why is Ni the dominant function of INFJ? I think I missed something. For some reason I had it in my mind like the J meant that a judging function was the dominant function, so I thought N/S were the judging functions.
Your channel is inspiring me a lot in these last few days. :) Take care.
That is a beautiful story :)
J or P in the 4-letter type means what is the first extraverted function.
Right in the feefees Stephanie, what a wonderful story :)
Anise ;D
So, Paul is more sensing and thinking, and john is intuition and feeling. This is great. A very interesting angle on Beatles, man!! I love it
Perfect outtro for this vid. I think the scales symbolize Feeling. Its weighing/evaluating what's more important and may be what a person likes. I don't think its about emotions per say. Although, people can have strong emotions on the things they value. More often than not, the best decisions coming from combining Thinking & Feeling. The brain and the heart are both satisfied.
u r the one who got me into the bugs so ty
I am loving your outro music lately.
You’re so deep and I absolutely love your Beatles analogies! Keep up the great work.
Yessss another beatles video
Thank you Frank for this great video!!! "In my life, I love you more...." brought me a tear ....
Andrea Grace, were you one of my exstudents? lol I'm joking of course but oh yes do i get your post :)
And i only left kicking and screaming :(
Now many of them are grown with kids and even Grandkids of their own!!!!! I think my FB has more exstudents than family lol And I hope you have a great day wherever you be on this tiny blue dot of a planet screaming through space :)
Wing &Waves I hope to have a profound impact like you one day too. Thanks for the inspiration, and your welcome for the tears ;)
Manifest Destiny Dear Andrea Grace! It's your life, go for it :) Even if it takes many slow steps until you fly! Spend that quality time with yourself, and very cool tunes too lol, and jot down your goals and a viable action plan to achieve them :)
Man, you're really enjoying video editing. I love it.
It chokes me up to think of you getting choked up over a song, typical INFJ
I love the way you express your thoughts and feelings: "Profound Beatles fan," "Released my records to her."
Great Morning stretch from our man FJ! More Beatles yay! 👨🎤✌ and love!
Thanks for including George this time. He's a possible fellow INFJ ;)
George is my favorite. Not sure if he was an INFJ but if he was then that's just another reason, among many, to love him.
Thanks FJ!
Good Morning, Professor James.
Thank you from Annie in Oregon
Great post this morning FJ. Of course In My Life can rip our hearts right out of our throats!!
I'm not sure if it's just me or my synesthesia but for me all of your examples leave me Both thinking and feeling :)
Not many years back I had a house full of 25-30ish folks visiting and Not a One of them had ever seen nor heard of Yellow Submarine!!!!
Awwwww Thank you Anise, so very sweet of you to say. Although I'm a dudette instead of a dude hahahaha :) Have a Wonderful day!!!!
I know and no worries honey. I just like saying Dudette lol :)
P.s. FJ, you've got the coolest commenters of most every channel on the Tubes!!!!!
Anisette :) Yep that is way cooler hahahahah. My nickname for my youngest is Harriette lol
(Beatles thinkers song example; Ne/Ti imo)
Great video. Your humor is fucking lovely.
Well, I guess we can add yoga to your ever-lengthening list of skills, because that stretching was top-notch. :)
It's interesting to note that T types seem to be able to use their more developed logic and reason to make an emotional appeal.
Seeing the bananas he calls out to them shouting," Hey there fellas, jump on in, it's a great day to be in the water, Come on in!!!!"
The first banana looks at the second and asks," Ya believe that sh*t?"
Heeeheeeeeeeee :)
I think the intent of the song tends to provoke feelings for others. But how a type goes about that is the difference. T & F can come to the same conclusion but different ways to get there.
I know I'm late to this but SAME. If you haven't yet, you should read Oliver Sachs book Musicophilia. It's fascinating.
What an original way to interpret these functions! This has made me see these lyrics in a whole new light : )
I love that you made a vid talking about the Beatles. I was gonna suggest that yesterday, and here you did it. ☺️
Thinking type songs:
In the Time of Our Lives-Iron Butterfly (prob Ne-Ti)
Once in a Lifetime-Talking Heads (def Ti--Ne)
Constantly Changing-Young Marble Giants (Ti-Ne)
Prove it-Television (Te-Si)
London Calling-The Clash (Ti-Se)
In the Gallery-Dire Straights (Ti-Se)
Helpless Automation-Men at Work (Ti-Ne)
I know very few songs of the Beatles, but you squeezed me with In My Life. and I can't go to bed now.
Cool jingles at the end of your videos. I experience the world with feelingy sort of feelings.
FJ-I enjoy and learn so much from you that this INTP is actually taking 10 seconds to tell you. You can say "cool" but of course, don't expect a follow-up comment... just know that I am still here....watching....analyzing....planning...accomplishing very little of course....
In this video you combined my love for mbti and the Beatles. This is it bro. You have reached the top 😊.
I loved this...thank you.
Intuition and Feeling are not related in the MBTI - you can read more about the various functions here: www.careerplanner.com/8CognitiveFunctions/Cognitive-Functions-Simply-Explained.cfm
I won't go into deeper detail as you can read about it in the link, but basically Intuition revolves around how a person generally gathers information while Feeling is about how a person generally makes decisions.
I feel a super deep connection to the Beatles too. Always have
Yes!
Uncaging my mind here
Another smart cookie assessment. Thanks for clarity & discernment. These points actually make a BIG DIFFERENCE in how we communicate. 💘📘🤫
Hey Frank! Could you please do these videos for all the types? I vs E and J vs P? These videos are really helpful to me, since I don't know myself very well anymore, but I want to. And the way you explain it... just makes so much sense.
He has them all already, this was the last one missing. Go to the playlists, there you can find the MBTI playlist.
Réka Lévai Oh I thought this was the second one, thank you very much.
I'm an INFP watching this channel. This is cool
YES! ANOTHER BEATLES VIDEO!
I love your channel because of you and your personality. You make me laugh, going over Myers Briggs and that is quite a feat. Maybe take that Rubber Soul out of the plastic! If it gets hot that’s insulation and you could warp your vinyl, man! 😱
"you and your personality"it's the same thing smzkxlxkxkx
Depeche mode: Policy of Truth. The ramifications of of your actions-thinking.
Depeche Mode: Condemnation Feeling of persecution:-feeling
Who needs to go to the gym to work out when you can do yoga with FJ ;) lol! The explanation of T vs. F is hilariously stretched , but it actually makes a lot of sense! I’m really digging those songs at the end of the videos (:
Sam Ira Ya just a slight bit of verbal yoga going on with the T/F thing ;) But was an interesting take on when I'm 64 because I'd myself not think of it in that way.
Melanie Elizabeth I also didn’t think of it! I actually never think of lyrics in that way , so it really was an interesting take on it! :D
When I'm 64. Thinking...with feeling not far behind. Great song choice.
Feeling and thinking is in the back...I think!: )
Feelers generally ask for example their child what colour shoes they want out of a and b (even if its same shoes) whereas thinkers don't see logic in asking for preference if it's same shoe or any point in asking since they're just a child.
in my life always makes me feel some type of way too. john’s keyboard solo too!!!
Fraaank, My boyfriend is now watching your videos with me. :) He really appreciated you talking about Northern Song! Hope you are well. :)
Super helpful. Frick... Thank you so much!!
Edit: The part where James compared thinking to a resume and feeling to a dating profile. You wouldn't normally put your resume on a dating profile. I got confused with the music. They both sound like Thinking to me or atleast based on how they were described
I love him. So much. Thinking 💚 Feeling
Thanks for helping explain though Beatles' songs. This really helps me understand how this concept works. 😊👍
Cage free channel 🙌🏻💯
Judging functions
Feeler thinks, still intelligent
Thinking feels, still cries
Thinking based on objectivity
Feeling based on subjectivity
Resume - Reasons
Tinder - Likable?
When I’m 64 - Why I will be useful
In my life - I just like you.
Fe-doms = ENFJ and ESFJ
Fe-aux = ISFJ and INFJ.
Someone actually gave this video a thumbs-down?!... inconceivable.
I'm a feeler first, then think. Also quite sensitive. Very.
I would like to see more of these comparisons using Beatles songs, especially P/J
I’ve been an INTP for most of my life, but I think I’m becoming an INFP. Thanks for this explanation!
I saw the Beatles album cover in the thumbnail, I clicked subscription.
If you want a song that deals with facts and cause/ effect then "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel or "Honesty" are good choices. All of the beatles songs are reflective and feeler type songs.
Rocky Raccoon is one of my (INFP) faves because it's so weird so I totally get your reasoning.
Love this!
You brought up internet dating, which brought to mind my friend who now claims, just two weeks after meeting a guy on the dating app pof, she has "fallen in love". We'll see about that. I may be meeting him next week. Ugh.
BurgundyandBlue1111 Oh, no... 🙄🙄 Good luck! Lol.
Sincere condolences and please let us know how it goes :)
female person Thank you and I will. :)
Echo👏🏻Voice👏🏻Edits👏🏻
I value objectivity but maybe I do because I feel like it’s the right thing to do. I remember learning about the scientific method in the third grade I still have that text book, if only I thought more. Thanks for the videos.
I finally get! Thanks!
