  • Here is a video to show that there is no such things as impossible material. Sometimes when you look at what you have you might think it's impossible to bonsai. In this video Peter takes a Chinese Juniper that has been left to grow wild for a number of years and turns it into a Raft Bonsai.

You mention saving sick trees with sphagnum moss, can you teach us how that is done? Aftercare environment and whatnot.

I learned a lot from this video! I would never have thought to cut a branch halfway as you did and bend it upward leaving the cut end in the sphagnum moss like that. Brilliant!

I couldn’t look when you snapped that branch. You certainly know how to push the material to its limits but I know it comes from years of experience. Will the original rootball not dry out without any covering?

I've seen pictures of raft bonsai where the former trunk was protruding from the soil to create a kind of wooden ground or bridge for the little trees. Do you ever make raft bonsai like that? It was so visually interesting!

Very impressive. Have you any suggestion for root hormone. Products i have used in the past brought unfortunately not the effect, i was looking for. Thanks a lot for the interessting videos on your channel. Keep on your nice work. Greetings from Germany

All rooting hormones are basically synthetic auxin. All the same. They will only give a small help. You still need to get everything else right.
