It's so common if you have good positioning! I sometimes spend 90% of the game without a single shot being fired at me I think this LW would have too if they didn't switch to sombra
I find it fairly easy to pressure a LW. Just go around the choke, get in their face and follow them up the petal. Easier said than done and I definitely am not securing the kill every time. But it is easy most of the time since where they hang out is not as easily accessable to their team compared to other supports
Its usually not worth the time to pressure a lifeweaver, especially as a tank. You dive him and do some damage so he petals up, you wait for your cooldown so you can chase him. You dive after him again so he drops down, you get him low so he dashes to get his health back. All in the meantime he's been self healing from support passive and also happily healing his team and wasting your time making you useless doing nothing 225 hp btw
Too situational at higher levels of play for that to be a good idea. Maybe for bronze but there are plenty of situations that a pull saves a player who's high health like a sig ult or junk tire.
Also, the enemy tank switching to Ram was very effective. The enemy team adapted very well and won the game for it. The LW team couldn't adapt as well and pretty much got rolled. I 100% believe that soldier rage quit after getting stomped by Ram and the enemy soldier, it happens often enough.
As a lifeweaver the best advice I have is about the timing for petal. I'm not a great player but the cooldown for it is good for using one at the beginning of every fight to get a better angle to heal your whole team or move other heroes back that do better at a distance. Then by the time the fight plays out and builds momentum you'll have it back to have an escape if you get focused or help displace the enemy or saving a teammate. Also with Ult, especially when you have no comms, use the ult not where everyone is but instead where they are headed. It's an incentive to push when you have a rush comp
honestly from what I can see his aim is meh though it's not really neccesary on lifeweaver and he likes to stand in the open a lot generally speaking a high console rank doesn't mean a high pc rank
"If we not rollin we trollin" - Current Overwatch community 14:57 Also every time there is a pc/console factor someone in the twitch or comments brings to aim assist? Any console player will tell you that aim assist isn't an "i win" feature, not even close. Often it makes your aim worse and BARELY makes things even in crossplay.
the thing i noticed is that they are constantly open, with no petal prepped. its silver so they arent getting punished but i can imagine that games where the enemy do focus them they fall apart. I can usually tell a decent player bc they instinctively stand in safe spots when there is no reason not to. with support particularly when i watch lower ranked players i get stressed because my brain is like 'omg ur in danger' even though they dont get punished for it. a lot of their petal usage was 'i wanna be up high' which left them open to everyone when there is literally cover on the ground next to them (attacking first point near the checkpoint and defending second near the checkpoint is where i noticed specifically) Going up can kill you if you dont have a good angle or an escape route. Also lifeweaver is similar to mercy in that he can be extremely low impact. You need to do a lot to get max value out of them. I havent played in a while so i wont give any specifc advice as it might not apply but yeah. Esp in low elo i think going for plays that seem kind of odd on the surface can end up really helping your team.
The swap from console to PC takes a while to adapt to. From what I'm seeing you're playing lifeweaver to try to overcome the differences from using a mouse... and it's really obvious when you try to shoot anything. To work on that try aiming at your allies well you heal them to build that muscle memory well the auto aim keeps you from missing heals. Right now you just hover in there general direction and let the game take over
" do people really leave their comp games....." yes yes they do, just goes to show how much crap you dont have to deal with at the higher ranks if this isnt common for you
At this point it happens more in ranked than in qp and it sucks cuz you could have a good round but someone on your team gets mad ab something trivial and leaves leaving you with a loss
I had a game yesterday where we had a very bad defence and right before the opponent team was about to get to second point on escorting the payload one of our supports left and we lost defence then before we even attacked our second support left, I tried to get the opponent team to draw with us because a 3v5 wasn’t fair and they said no, so I took the lose, I just don’t understand why people DC/rage quit before they even try the other side
If I’m a lifeweaver there is definitely a sombra somewhere. And I find it fascinating how this lifeweaver wasn’t pushed once. I’m never in matches like this😂
I'll be the mean one in the comment section then. Overwatch isn't a spectator sport. The reason why Lw player is not in plat/diamond on pc is because they're very reactive and I'm guessing, only play LW. He's a good hero but you're not getting full value by how you're playing. Listen to Emongg's advice and you'll see improvement enough to climb to around the same rank you had on console. Your team was lowkey carrying you till everything fell apart on defence. What happened was unfortunate but it's a simple case of gg go next. It's definitely not a good enough example of "my teammates are holding me back." Happy New Year btw! I'm sure you'll get your original console rank back by around April.
This wasn't even mean, just real and true. This person needs to be a lot more proactive (actually helping secure kills, using tree more than once per round, better positioning, among other things) if they want to climb. Passive gameplay is not the way to climb.
honestly interesting video cuz i was 3300 on console and now im gold 2 on pc on the acc thats connected to my console but plat 2 on a new acc i made to twin with a friend. i probably jus need to play more on the gold acc to climb out. wonderful video !!!
as a gold console support this feels kinda passive play for LW especially near the start. I guess in diamond you can't get away with as much but when you're being put in silver lobbies you can definitely do some more thorn spams. Also if your grip in on CD and your tank is in trouble sometimes you can petal under them to save them and give them chance to heal up. Also you can be more aggressive with ult! I love waiting for the enemy tank to push forward then tree behind them so they can't go back to cover. Your team is getting healed and you can all focus them as they flounder.
There is no "my team holding me back" thing in Overwatch. If you can't win without good teamplay, that means you are in EXACT rank you need to be. The moment you start overperforming and dominate the match - THAT'S when you will climb up the ladder. It's not that complicated.
Okay, real talk! I know neither my positioning nor my aim are the best they can be, but I cannot count the number of times I've had leavers on my team in Ranked games. It's ABSURD!! Sometimes, it's even when we're winning! For some unexplainable reason, POOF! My teammate is gone. I don't care if your game crashed! Boot it back up! We were doing great! We need to punish leavers SO MUCH HARDER!!
Yeah people leave in silver, we had a tank rage quit. We ended up still winning because we had Mei playing tank and a Zen who was cracked+Moira with all the heals and struggle silver players have to kill her
This is the worst match to share if you want to prove that you’re being held back by your team. 1. Playing lifeweaver Lifeweaver completely relies on your teammates to do everything basically. 2. Having a leaver It’s gonna happen, people will leave matches, you just have to suck it up. The other team is equally as likely to have a leaver
Story of my life was silver 5 then three matches in a row had multiple leavers after first fight. Then three next matches in a row had throwers on my team for no discernible reason after first fight. Now bronze 2 and it's like I'm playing against bots they're so easy to kill. Usually getting most heals and most damage. So much pain. Though I do see that as teammates holding them back. That was a winnable game and they quit how in the world is that not teammates holding that player back? Luck has nothing to do with rage quitters.
In this particular match I’d argue yes it was his team holding him back cause in the end they all quit. they totally could of won that. Does this happen to him every match? I dunno and I doubt it. Just unlucky teammates this particular game
Im a hardstuck plat player. My brain is slow. Please blizzard give the option for a color swapsies in replays so im not constantly asking "why are you shooting your own team?"
I think GM console and PC is roughly the same, especially high GM. I have a friend who is GM on both PC and console and I’m GM console. People make the same mistakes gold players make IMO in terms of standing in the open
Their aim definitely needs improving if they want to reach PC diamond. We won’t even mention positioning and util usage… what goes on in console games?
If you want to climb, get off lifeweaver. Healing your silver teammates and expecting them to carry you is just not realistic. If you want to climb, go zenyatta, Ana, Moira, etc and hard carry. You simply cannot do that on lifeweaver.
Life weaver is bad. He’s a charactar who heal bots to enable your team. You’re gonna have to completely rely on your team. If you are trying to rank up, relying on silvers is just not it. Making plays with bap, having great Ana utility, zenyatta damage, etc is what you should be doing to rank up. Not lifeweaver heal botting.
No. That's just the difference between PC and Console players in skill level. This is why growing up using KB+M for FPS games results in a higher skill level, its inherently superior for control schemes to be able to have vastly more control over your aim and movement and not be totally dependent on aim assist to correct your mistakes for you.
Aim assist barely does anything all it does is decrease your sensitivity when you hit the centre of an enemies hitbox it’s far more detrimental than helpful
Unfortunately, console and PC ranks just aren’t anywhere near equivalent. I’ve played quick play with Console Masters players and they struggle in Plat-ish mmr pc lobbies.
I’ve NEVER seen a lifeweaver go uncontested for an entire match

if they got it right that would actually be kinda helpful
Right. Great idea!
Too situational at higher levels of play for that to be a good idea. Maybe for bronze but there are plenty of situations that a pull saves a player who's high health like a sig ult or junk tire.
So simply don't have option on if in higher tier. Like you said it's situational.
Enemy DPS going sombra to deal with backline was a great choice when they were forcing spawn doors
His tank was definitely started feeding at the 2nd half but he could of saved his tank or teamates with his abilities making it a closer match.

My thoughts exactly. Console ranks don't translate to pc ranks especially with how mnk accuracy and control is at higher levels versus console.
I disagree. Weve seen consoles and pc face off and they are roughly the same

I disagree. I think this is exactly Silver based on aim, positioning, and ult usage. I think they got placed accurately.

Yes people do rage quit even when winning because st ranks such as solver they often have no game sense what so ever.
