- We all know Wheeler and Nelson have opinions on what Magic had to offer in 2022, but how was their reading comprehension? Graham puts them to the test in this special 2022 edition of Stump the Expert.

I actually almost spit out my coffee at "holy crap lois i'm compleated, hehehe"
The Praetor Griffin pun broke me.
will this time Stump the expert finally show up?
Shit I just figured out an NPC thanks pal
No one knows that the lead singer of Fall Out Boy is a massive Magic fan
Legendary Creature - Treefolk
@@SirToastyToesI feel like any treefolk that has been reduced to a stump might not be the most reliable expert.
@@christopherlundgren1700 he's a better expert at being stumped than any of us
How did nobody laugh at Praetor Griffin? That shit had me rolling
I just gave a look for referencing Family Guy of all things, like Graham did, and moved on.
I had such an Um Actually moment when Wheeler so confidently said "That's an Aven!" for the original Shards art of Bone Splinters, and I reflexively went "No it's not, it's a Kathari!" Like it's one of the most obvious things in the world, when a moment later I realized no normal person would know this.
Would you believe you weren't the only one?
Fun fact: One of the rulings for Kami of Terrible Secrets is "Its terrible secret is that it always forgets to call home on Mother's Day."
In my defense - when James asked for suggestions for the Gladiator staple cards, it was almost exactly 1 year since Assemble from Parts had come out
Ah yes! The Stump after which all experts are named.
Praetor Griffin was a good joke Ben, thanks.
Uurg is likely a “frog beast” in reference to cards like Wretched Anurid which was originally typed as a zombie beast and then had frog added later. Presumably, Uurg is the same kind of creature, so they gave it the same types.
Whirler Rogue was ALSO reprinted in BRO Commander.
Love my 4c frog tribal decks for legacy and commander
Yay~
Even though these are usually "filler" episodes I love this format so much
i would listen to this every week if you made them
I felt like Nelson. Everything was going along well for the draft sets, and then the Commander stuff showed up and I was like "I'm out."
peter "sheoldred" griffin approved
I need a Praetor Griffin altar now
for Titania, the fact that its a 0/0 land with 4 counters rather than a 4/4 is important because it is an activated ability that can repeatedly target the same land
never mind, Nelson just pointed that out too
My favourite TTC episode format! Algorithm, you may consiser me engaged.
Tree thing - legendary land - tap add green channel 1G destroy target no basic land, artifacts or enchantment search for a land with a basic land type cost 1 lest for each legendary creature you control
the Chishiro card was in the EDSC episode that came out last week I believe.
I'm just out here, literally lol-ing in the grocery store so thanks for that. Planeswalker section is best section.
Horror on bedlam reveler was relevant, since it was in standard with Thing in the Ice
So can someone tell me why this stump has supposedly garnered expertise?
Ah yes my favorite segment!
Man a lotta cards got printed this year huh
15:34 Was "Neon Genesis Kamigawa" intentional or just another instance of Evangelion supplanting Neon Dynasty?
In case you're wondering (like I was), it's 855.
855 Secret Lair cards.
My god.
Nothing can stump my engagement.
Stump taught me everything I know
What's hard to remember about Assemble from Parts? There's not that much about Perpetual that is hard to track, that's the whole point of digital, you don't have to track it.
I would have never have guessed that lrr could make a topic I dislike interesting (art discussions)
Quietus spike was also in the obscura precon. Wheeler was right
I am generally pretty good at remembering the cards, but I am terrible with planeswalker ultimates. The entire section I would name every aspect of the card correctly and then go "IDK, it probably has an ultimate too". I guess better than when I used to only know the ultimates.
That family guy joke gave me stitches 🤣
Glad I found this had nothing to watch even binged Gvlogs for the 13th time.😂
Clearly, Nelly's mustache is migrating to Graham
Christmas done, kids in bed. Time for TapTap Concede. Stump that expert! Jingle the jangle, bungle the bongle.
Surprised you didnt try to stump them with a Transformers card
I somehow completely missed Dominaria United Commander
Weird audio issue with Nelson's mic at 2:24 and 9:18. It's like the volume drops while he's speaking.. (an auto-ducking plugin screwing up maybe?)
More at 20:15, 25:55, 26:41, 44:03 and it happens to Wheeler at 48:44 and 55:27
I feel silly noting these.. it's not a big deal, but I wrote 'em down; maybe knowing about them will make tuning the plugin settings easier or something.
Doesn't Minsc and Boo cost 5 in gladiator as its a arena only format and we have the alchemy version
Every single one of these made me feel like an absolute baller who knows exactly what they're talking about, until I got the the p/t or starting loyalty at which point I'd consistently have no fucking idea.
what set is assemble from parts in? i don't recognise it.
ah, they asked that question themselves. i only play paper
high stumping this time
How can you forget Elminster... I'm pretty sure someone drafted that card or use it as a commander on one of the streams
They play a lot of magic tbf, and that was Adam who was not in the room for this. (he drafted it and played it as his commander) Also I don't think either Nelly or Wheeler was in that pod, wheeler definitely wasn't because in my mind's eye I can picture him in the exact same seat (top right) in his Baldur's gate PPR game as Adam was. Graham did not participate in that PPR on account of all the crabs in his glands.
@@irreleverent I'm pretty sure it was Adam but it wasn't for the wamshamble
+
no wonder wheeler lost to the premier lands player serge. it was so one sided
Wheeler coming in with the Absolute Worst most unintelligible pronunciation of Prey-tore or prey-a-tore known to man
54 minutes ago whaaaaat
Jaceus, Alchemy sucks.
