Shiba is from Capcom's 3-in-1 Three Wonders arcade game. He was known there as "Siva" and was the second player character in the Midnight Wanderers and Chariot games in that machine. The little fire sprite was a helper character there, too.
I used to own a copy of this game for Dreamcast but I was talked into selling it to the brother of a friend because he was collecting Capcom games. If I knew the Dreamcast had only lasted a couple of years I would have never sold any of my Dreamcast games, much less this.
- Shoot 'em up (mostly) - On Dreamcast - Late Release Check, check and triple check! 3 ingredients that make up the expensive ass game - No disrespect intended cuz Ive wanted to find this for a somewhat affordable price, but no. It does look great!
God, I fuckin love all these stupid boss names. If MVC 4 doesn't have "Cat Lady Beauty," then I riot. Also: Thanks, Matt, for remembering Lucia from DMC 2. The only thing worth remembering.
Dunno if it was mentioned anywhere, but yea it's known as Gunspike in Japan. The NA release is named Cannon Spike. And yea, Cammy also has her Alpha 3 Leotard
My brothers and I spend countless hours playing this when we first got our Dreamcast. We never wanted to part with it but eventually the disc did become unreadable and now it is SO expensive to get one. It is one of our biggest Dreamcast childhood loses that is so hard to get now, right next to Project Justice. T-T
That's why you take care of disc's when you spend $ these things too expensive just to let get all scratched up I've been telling people for years stop being stupid
I forget where I read it but Linn Kurosawa from AVP was supposed to be in this game, but because of licensing and stuff they had to make the new but clearly similar character Simone
If you take a screencap of Simone and invert its colors, you get Linn Kurosawa (well, kinda, at least her armor)! Also, the Ghost and Goblins level and Resident Evil characters are actually from The House of The Dead franchise, y'know, the arcade game that constantly says "RELOAD, RE-RE-RE-RELOAD", and also, there's a movie about it which is just perfect for a "What Happened?" episode. Great episode Matt, Dreamcast definitely needs more love.
I am somehow more surprised that they didn't localize this game as *Thrust Kick* given that was what they named Cammy's Cannon Spike during this time. Still good to see the King of Somersault Justice reign supreme on rollerblades though!
Cammy should have some new special moves involving guns in street fighter. And they should put some of these characters in. Much better than characters like El Fuerte and Necali.
Capcom could probably make a fuckton of money bringing this back. Make it like the 3D bullet hell battles in Nier Automata, add in more characters and a story and you’ve got shit fucking MADE!
Still cant believe I got this game back in 2008 for my birthday for my dreamcast along with power stone and heavy metal geomatrix. This game is short but damn the gameplay is so smooth.
So this is where Nash and Cammy's roller skates came from. Was unsure why Capcom gave them both those as costumes in SFV since they don't add much than cosmetic flair...
Loved this game, just sold my copy a couple of years ago. I worked at GameStop during this time in the Dreamcast’s life and grabbed every Capcom game that came out on DC. It didn’t occur to me at the time but it’s not surprising they’re rare now as only 1-2 copies of each DC release would come in and that would be it. Other normal releases you’d see 4-12 come in typically.
Shiba Shintaro and Simone are oc's for this game like like Ruby Heart & Amingo from MvC2 also that Balrog is actually Vega(Claw) they didn't translate his name based on the way he's named outside Japan.
Got this game for 20 bucks at gamestop for my Dreamcast, beat it with a friend in 20 minutes. We both were beyond disappointed, traded it back for full price (back when you can play a game and return it within 7 days for full price multiple times).
That sucks. Considering you could have just kept it, and sold it for a good chunk of change nowadays, if you wanted. But the Dreamcast was a arcade port machine, so I dunno what you expected.
@@MattMcMuscles I forgot to mention this was waaaay back when the game first came out. I remember it was one of the cheaper Dreamcast games. I wish I knew how rare it'd become!

I won this back in the day in Games Master (British magazine) competition, didn't know I'd won, it just arrived in the post one day. I traded it in, as a teenager I of course had no concept of future game value.
