I love my 2019 split. Uncomprimised float in pow combined with its all mountain properties that gives me the opportunity to also to go out on icy days. I'm fearing the 2.0 is less all mountain more pow than 1.0, am I wrong? For float and grip is solution my best bet?
Nice review guys, and thank you for putting the time and effort. Ive been reading conflicting reviews about the 2.0, generally speaking the opinion is that it def lost some capability to handle the groomers on a hard rail like the OG did (and was pretty awesome at). If thats the case it really is a big downside in my book> carving on this thing was magic.
Jury is still out on its groomer performance. My testing on it was on a DEEP powder day of cat-boarding. there is a flex profile difference between the the OG one and the 2.0 for sure. If groomers is a big thing for you, consider one of the jones freecarvers....Ripping folks are LOVING those !!
Ive had a hovercraft for 10+ years. My favorite pow board! I wish they would've kept the thick metal edges on the tail but other than that the new one looks awesome.
Late to this post, but is this considered a volume shifted board that's meant to be ridden slightly shorter? Been riding an ORCA for past 6 years, but would love to experience this board. Thanks and love your channel.
Currently riding a Korua Dart and an Otto. Love them both. Looking to add a jones board. Any one model come to mind as a good addition to my quiver? Mostly ride east coast but chase powder annually. Surf background, carve, slash, side hits. Thank you
Thanks for the quick reply, @@tributeboardshop Narrowed it down to the hovercraft, storm wolf or mind expander. Still thinking the hovercraft for best choice / least overlap? Thank you!!
Jones lineup is starting to confuse me. This and Mind Expander seem to overlap a lot, then isn't the Flagship also good in pow? Then all of these have ultra versions too.
Sidecuts and overall Profiles are quite different throughout the lineup ! Think of the Hover as a True "all Mountain" watch Garrett Warnick ride this thing!!
This is pretty Versatile - could be your one season board no problem! We tend to ride the flagship a little less since the Stratos and Hover have entered our fleet!
I think they should stick to carbon stringers customers don’t care as much for this recycling at the expense of a premium material. I can’t replace carbon with old snowboard decks. Weather it performs well or not is out of the question. As a buyer as rather pay for carbon then pay for recycle boards. I don’t drive a hybrid and never will. I hate seeing snowboard companies trying sooo hard to look responsible. Why does snowboarding have this negative connotation and to it?? You don’t see skiings being made from recycled materials and they never will.
Why do you care? If you just want buzzwords like carbon then look elsewhere, jones’ mission statement is to be a leader in sustainable manufacturing and environmental outreach.
@@glub__blub and it’s not “buzz” words I like boards that are lot more reactive. And you get that from carbon or metal sheets usually. I have a flagship and I have a BSOB both 169W the flag ship is slightly stiff but the BSOB launches. I’m not talking outa my ass I have a hover craft 2.0 in my hands and it feels super wierd they’ve thinned out the front end a lot to add these vertical old board strips. And not to mention their veneer top sheets with no finish on them. They get distorted and look like ass when they do! How about u stop kissing ass and be honest! And if you don’t know any better don’t comment!

Those splitboard clips are actually 1.0 Ultraclips FYI. The 2.0 has an adjustable set screw and nylon cap

Its yours and only better in the POW! If you love the sidecut then stay with Hovers!
great video. This board is on my wishlist. Mark: Did I just see you in the Whitehorse Canadian Tire? If so, Enjoy the mountains here! Cheers
Yes, you likely did. I'm usulally up at Sima with our canadain national para team for the month of November.
Another great episode, would you say this is better than the mind expander for powder ?
Many thanks

@@markfawcett9654 Thanks for the insight
How similar does the split ride to the solid? Does the seam flex as much as maybe it would seem like it would?
You will notice its a split - BUT , much better torsional stiffness than other brands !
Congrats on the sponsorship! How to those tail rudders compare to something like the burton deep daze?
Not quite as aggressive ....subtle fin-like action!
Very subltle comnpared to the deep daze

It’s really thin up front. A lot my flex.

That split! 😍
Love the channel guys!

I just got a 2.0 I layed my old hovercraft next to the new one and the new ones edge looks much thinner

This is the one to add .... shane usually rides a Dart and added this to his quiver after trying it !

I have an older hover and a dart +. The dart is pretty similar to the hovercraft, I would maybe look at one of the freecarvers?
How do you think this would handle for regular east coast riding?.. given the channel in the tail more designed for pow
The tail is a added benefit - this will still be amazing out east :)
Which size were you riding this one?
156cm !

@@tributeboardshop what makes this more versatile than the ship? What does it do better?
@@giladlavi4393 In our opinion - a better sidecut radius ....more stable
The outro sounds like Alternte Current Welding!
How does this compare to the Cardiff Goat split and solid?
Hi from Italy guys, for curving is better the Aviator or the Hovercraft? Thanks a lot.
Hovercraft is wider and has a larger sidecut radius. I’d say it’s better for carving
Get the free carver from jones for carving
