"taking over the world" And over 10 years later still amazing, one of the biggest bands of both mainstream rock and Christian rock. They obviously knew what they're talking about. I have no doubt their commitment to music, which grew from their faith, got them all the way to where they are today.
correction. Ardent Worship was released in 1999, before Invincible in 2000. Kevin Haaland was on that album, as well as Invincible in 2000 and recorded the guitars on every track on Alien Youth in 2001 except for "Earth Invasion" which was done by Ben. Collide is the first album to strictly feature him on guitar, even though he was pictured on the Alien Youth album.
Heard "Refuge" on the radio and immediately recognized that voice. Had to go back and watch some old videos. My kids used to go to Skillet concerts in Minnesota. Good times and great songs.
This brings me back to my days of rocking out to Christian music at youth group. Not a believer any more and lyrics like 'worldwide Jesus domination' make me giggle now, but it was good times lol
This is an awesome Christian song. Thank God for Skillet and making a difference through His grace and art. I love the lead singers style and hair in this video by the way. ;)
Kory's pants are...Amazing haha I love Skillet. Invincible was my first CD from them and have gotten their new ones ever since. I am glad that their music videos have IMPROVED! haha Watch their Hero video if you havent yet and compare haha what a difference in style and performance but still love them then and of course now.
lol i remember i saw them in concert at age 9 on my birthday...first concert i hav ever been to and they sang happy birthday to me on stage...that was KOOOOOLLLL
wow, i was listening to monster hen i was like WOW these are the alien youth guys that i listened to forever ago! god, i missed this song and now im hooked, .....again.
@xdarktrollx Uh dude, even this song is a Christian song. I've seen many church bands play it. This song basically describes the "invasion" of Christianity in Europe during the late Roman Empire. Alien describes how Christianity was alien compared to the roman religion, and youth describes how it was a young religion at the time. And with the amount of non-believers out there these days, it seems like a group of Christian kids could be considered an Alien Youth.
don't know about the new thousand foot krutch album as i havn't heard it but the new skillet cd is downright amazing. pay special attention to the lyrics of the song one day to late if only everyone was like that
And to the guy who said Skillet is just a second 3DG, Skillet had FIVE albums out counting their worship album before Three Days Grace had one. And right now Three Days Grace only has 3 albums and I personally only like their first album. They sold out with One-X. One could argue Skillet sold out with Awake, but Monster is also a Christian lyric based song, as are the other singles Hero and Awake and Alive. And Comatose was just an overall beautifully epic album. 3DG is ok, but Skillet rocks
Haha Ben looks like a kid :D lol! I love this song!!! My youth group is called the "Alien Youth Group" with 1Peter 2:11 as our theme verse, and guess what we consider our song to be?! Oh yeah :D I LOVE SKILLET!
LOL. Yeah, I seriously don't blame him. Ever since they went mainstream, it's like 90% of people think the only stuff they have is Collide and Comatose. I was buying their first CD...when it FIRST came out. And I love their new stuff as much as the old, but people who hate the old need to shut up. Skillet's sound will always change, that's what keeps them going 10 years strong. You can't like the band just for Comatose...other wise, that CD will be all you listen to.
@MarilynFilth I think it's kind of hard for any band, Christian or non Christian, to introduce their own style. This is some early Skillet music when they were starting out. Now, after putting out several albums, they've developed their own unique costume and music style of their own.
@ Mr.Mickel11 You put up an @ before mentioning someones name so others can know who you are directing you words too, its like saying "at" @ everyone else: His hair is awesome around this time xD I love it
No I know but thats what it says on wikipedia is what I meant but yeah it says that Lori supposedly retired to but I dont know thats what I read but thanks for the info.
Love the song, although the video may be a little out there, I guess that sort of fits the theme of the song in its own way though. I do find it amusing that his shirt changes part of the way through the video.
@felderup but religion is how a person lives thier life, and we all fail. Christians have hope that God can make make good of our failures and weaknesses.

I agree
that riff of the intro... simple and really awesome.

used to watch this on those late saturday night music video shows that came on tbn and angel one.

This brings me back to my days of rocking out to Christian music at youth group. Not a believer any more and lyrics like 'worldwide Jesus domination' make me giggle now, but it was good times lol

Skillet! Don't take any notice of what anyone says... You are friggin' amazing!! :D
you still have to give them some credit. the songs they have to day, would not exist without these song. they have had a lot of practice.
johns such a dork!!!!!!!! haha i love it! :P
Thats Lori Peters. Jen was like 5 or 6 when Skillet was formed!!
Yep, Jen was 6 when Skillet formed, and 11 when _Alien Youth_ was released. And now she's 30, lol. This song is so old.
Little young Benjamin!
I can't say I like the dancing or whatever it is...but the song rocks!
Eu amo Skillet!! (♡_♡)
amen bro
Sick special effects
The hero vid is pretty good too. Its my favorite actually
don't know about the new thousand foot krutch album as i havn't heard it but the new skillet cd is downright amazing. pay special attention to the lyrics of the song one day to late if only everyone was like that
Back when Skillet made good music..Agreeing with the dude a couple comments below me. I love this song.
Nice

Old Skillet sounds so cool!
I like the older type of skillet, like 2000 era, which is when korey joined, i also like his hair i want it like that now lol.
Haha Ben looks like a kid :D lol! I love this song!!!
My youth group is called the "Alien Youth Group" with 1Peter 2:11 as our theme verse, and guess what we consider our song to be?! Oh yeah :D
I LOVE SKILLET!
I LOVE THE SONG AND THE VIDEO IS OK =)
wooooooo es el mejor grupo
i tear up everytime i hear it =[
I will never look at Skillet the same O.O
LOL. Yeah, I seriously don't blame him. Ever since they went mainstream, it's like 90% of people think the only stuff they have is Collide and Comatose. @ everyone else: His hair is awesome around this time xD I love it
I love John's hair here ;)
he looks so strange with his hair that color
lol thx for uploading
i luv deez guitar solos
I'm surprised that this video has Skillet's most famous line-up in it (Jon, Korey, Ben, and Lori), they look so strange
I know why does John have blonde hair?
@robertthegeek
OK OK but look on the date :)
No I know but thats what it says on wikipedia is what I meant but yeah it says that Lori supposedly retired to but I dont know thats what I read but thanks for the info.
This is the first song I heard from these guys..
@timaeus0 what song does he use it in?
this looks like part of the disney Zenon Movies but the song is great:)
Skillet is still a very christian band, just watch a few of there podcasts
I like this song. I don't think that it is as good as there songs now. They are still an awesome band though. Skillet rocks!!!
2001 was a simpler time
Ben is gettin it down!!!
Teh only part of the vid that I think is decent is 2:51-3:16 lol I'm so glad they've improved so much on vid making x3 I love Skillet
Love the song, although the video may be a little out there, I guess that sort of fits the theme of the song in its own way though. I do find it amusing that his shirt changes part of the way through the video.
I respect the way skillet was back then, but i have to say, the hard rock era (2004 +) appeals to me much more...
The only member that has stayed in Skillet since the beginning is John. Jen joined about 5 years ago. Anyone, correct me if I am wrong.
True
This song brings me back to 6th grade. O_O
Awesomee 83
They need to get a new camera man! xD
@felderup but religion is how a person lives thier life, and we all fail. Christians have hope that God can make make good of our failures and weaknesses.
Bro.. I think you're a skillet fan and a sonic fan. I can tell
@DerrickMaust2541 i agree he does look better what he looks like right now, then on 2001 they where really young
