@@squamish4244 not really. He’s a pathological liar so he just made stuff up all the time about why he couldn’t be places at certain times. He would go weeks or months without seeing certain women. He’s scared of emotional intimacy so he never went too deep with any of them. The women were willing to put up with it because he’s rich, famous, and good looking. Not that hard to figure out. If you’re good looking, charismatic, successful and wealthy, you can get away with almost anything and people won’t question you.

Check the ending of the dr K episode when he was on diaries of a CEO, to say his beliefs arent mainstream is a stretch. Same with Huberman, if something he says sounds fishy double check it.

This might be too serious of a comment but finding out male scientist also being super misogynistic is a huge let down to me. It just came on that women in the Paleolithic Era hunted just as much as men did and were just as good at it too. Scientists’ bias throughout history is the only reason this has been recently discovered because all the evidence was there the whole time. It makes me hesitant to listen to his perception on the differences between men and women now. A man who is capable and willing to do this definitely doesn’t view women in a respectful and unbiased way. But can’t wait to go cringe at those conversations lol.

There's crossover! It sucks to hear but ...not surprising? He's a man at the end of the day. He never mentioned a wife or kids or family, anything. In all his podcasts he doesn't really talk deep into his own personal life besides his dog. So, I guess in that aspect, I never expected him to be a good family man necessarily. It could have easily been a situation of a bunch of women he was casually dating who thought wrong. If he's too busy to settle down and decided to casually date instead, there's nothing amoral about that until there's proof he mislead them. If he never confirmed it denied and they assumed, that's on them
@@alcibiadesonthestreets I doubt that 7 different women all happened to just assume that he was exclusive with them if he never indicated that he was exclusive with any of them. If all 7 women were genuinely under the belief that they were exclusive with him, then he clearly must have said something to make it seem like they were exclusive. Im not saying that it isnt possible that all 7 women made the mistake of wrongly assuming they were exclusive with him, but I am saying that it is very unlikely, so I wouldnt say that situation could have "easily" happened. Also, from their accounts, it sounds like Huberman was intentionally misleading them by going out of his way to hide the fact that he was seeing and meeting up with other women, according to them it sounds like he was constantly lying about where he was, who he was with etc. to these women, so I dont think that this situation was just a mistake that the women all made. Either huberman was intentionally misleading and lying to them, or they're all intentionally lying about him and he was honest with them from the start about not being exclusive. And realistically, I highly doubt that 7 different women are all intentionally lying about him. I can believe one, maybe two, people lying about you to tarnish your reputation, but if 7 different women come out all saying the same thing about you, chances are they probably arent lying (not saying DEFINITELY, but probably).

Besides, regardless of whether his content is about neuroscience or psychology, my point still applies, a lot of his content is intended to revolve around deep introspective self help stuff.

I dont really know much about him but I've heard that a lot of the sources he cites are not peer reviewed so idk if thats super ethical lol. Also its pretty ironic that he apparently has ethical science but engages in very immoral behaviour in his personal life.

- idk how nymag thought that this would hurt his reputation at all when maybe 5% of his fanbase is bio/neuro nerds and the other 95% are the ‘bio hacker’ types. if anything it boosted it.
- his science is still great, and that’s what i listen for, so im gonna keep listening. admittedly he has become some sort of idol to lots of ppl in neuro, myself included, and it is kinda crazy to know in the back of my mind that this dude is an absolute dog. hate to say it but at this point in my life it kind of adds to the idolization, im sure plenty of other young dudes can agree with how dating is now (especially if you’re a neuroscience geek LMAO).
TL;DR: he’s a bad person but the bad thing he did isn’t gonna ruffle many feathers in his own audience. he’s not really a major personality, he just gives useful information in a useful format, so most people, myself included, will be mostly unbothered. still sucks tho.
Yea, but even his science is questionable. He at least hocks AG1, which is basically a vitamin that has no transparency on measurements or dosing or efficacy of active ingredients. They have no sound science backing that up. I prefer the conspirituality podcast. The hosts have debunked quite a few ideas of his and many other grifters, even before this article came out.
