This story is based on the legend of Kaian Myokei's restoration of Daichu-ji Temple, and in Yakumo Koizumi's ghost story, he is described as a "cannibal demon."
A monk lost his beloved child to an illness, and in his grief, he devoured the corpse and turned into a demon.
In order to save it, Kaian Zenji heads to the mountain temple where the demons live.
