Behavior Regulation Corner | Calming Corner | Self-Regulation | June 2024
We have implemented this behavior regulation corner to help our kids learn to recognize their negative behaviors and allow them to de-escalate them before they become a problem for everyone else. This is a positive place for our kids to go and be alone with their thoughts and actions, it is not a timeout or consequence to be in this corner. We all feel overwhelmed with our feelings at one time or another and it's important to recognize them and learn how to stop the negative behavior before it becomes a problem. Anger doesn't make you a bad person it's how we deal with the anger that will affect us in the end. I want my children to recognize their anger and learn how to deal with it positively. That can be writing out how you feel, drawing, looking at alternatives to the situation, praying, or just being alone for a few minutes.
