      @@cc-cy How did she cheat? She wasn't allowed to keep running after the false start and it was the official who agreed with her appeal and did it right away meaning he heard the same thing she did from the crowd. Also who is Schiffers? Her name is Schippers. And women's bodies change, some women can maintain a track career for a long time while others for only a few years and some women are the fastest they will ever be in high school or even earlier. It all depends on the person. Also I do remember Schippers winning a Silver in the 200 meter in the Rio Olympics. She wasn't quite as fast a ET in that race but she did beat every other woman on the planet.

    You can see the kid in the stands, right across from her, hitting the side boards with his hands. Then when they restart the race he doesn't do it again. It's pretty obvious that was the sound that made her false start.

    • @armasrammo4793
      @armasrammo4793 4 года назад +6

      I'm totally certain of that as well. The kid was already trying to pretend he was the starter, trying to time his board hit with his hand to the gun. Thankfully, Dafne was done right by the decision. Meanwhile, the area near the start like that needs to be 'patrolled' to prevent such occurrences.

    Being DQed for one false start is unfair. If the rules commitees knew what they were doing they would add a 10th of a second or the amount of time of the false start to the competitors time but keep everybody in the race but Olympic committees, athletic committees, rules committees and fans still do not know how to think about these sorts of things. People are generally stupid. Dafne's winning time would have been 1/10th of a second more or more by the amount of her false start. That is fair and that is the way to do it. She might have come in second, third, or slower. In this race she would still have won.

    Okey, for all the keyboard warriors that wasn't even at the event: There were kids down by the first row(right besides the athletes) who jumped off of their seats(thus making the seat flap back into position and making a sharp noise). This is what Dafne said to the refs, so she was allowed to run "under protest"(read up on the IAAF rules). After the race the judges watched camera footage of the spectators that Dafne claimed jumped off of their seats, and it was indeed the case - hence why she kept her win.

They are PAID Pro athletes getting prize money and appearance money. Basketball gives 5 fouls and then your out. Can you image if you paid 50 dollars for a ticket, and took a day off work to see Michael Jordan, and then he had 1 foul in the first minute and was tossed from the game!

    Why would she do that in a 200 meter race?
    I mean in a 100 meter race you can say trying to get the jump in 200m it doesn't really matter. She got lucky on her birthday but it's correct that dafne is the big star.

    Re: false start elimination. It’s ridiculous to suggest a/any runner should get a false starting ‘warning” and then eliminated only on their 2nd false start. This encourages runners to anticipate and “jump the gun”` - in a field of 8 runners that could produce 8 unique false starts in a single race before any one is eliminated.
    Ridiculous.
