    Can someone explain to me the advantages of a manual bailarm ? I have a Crosscast 35 SCW 5000C QD reel, didn't realise that it had a manual bailarm. The most expensive reel I've ever bought. I wasn't expecting that.

      Stops the bail arm tripping over when casting

    I know you guys are not the greatest and biggest casters, but you could always make a new great video testing the 13ft powerful distance casting rods ( 13ft 3.75lbs and 4lbs ), but the rods should be budget friendly ( maybe max. 250€ )!!!

    How did we ever catch carp 30 years ago with tackle we had available?!

    The reels diawa and shimano are producing these day are massive . Far too big for most uk situations .

      They're not for catching fish. Just customers. But you know that already. 😊

      it's not just about casting distance, in many situations you want a reel that can retrieve fast, say near snags, bigger reels also mean the lines stay in better condition, a small 8000 Shimano will be terrible with flourocarbon mainline. line lay is better with the bigger spool also.

      @dufud 6 месяцев назад

      @@johnnybegood9560 I’d say it’s minimal difference on line lay to be honest. The line lay on a 1400 or a 5500 is not much different. The only reason anyone needs to big pit reel is if your boating baits out mega long distances. Other than holding lots of line . They are completely pointless in the uk .

      @@dufud nah I disagree, I used Shimano 8000 and ss2600 for years, the line lay was terrible, all coily, didn't want to go bigger but use emblems now, no more crap looking line, miles better , casting much better

      @@johnnybegood9560 your talking about bait runner size reels . Im talking about Daiwa 35 spools vs the 45 and the same with the ultegra 5500 compared to a 1400 . The difference is minimal. Of course if you go just from a tiny ss2600 or a baitrunner size it will be different. There is no need in carp fishing for the big pit reels in the uk unless boating baits out .
