I'm hoping that while you were waiting you got a chance to do some exploring. It's a pretty amazing country. Too bad you won't make it back for the "Arivaca Outback" this year. We could use tom *true* adventure stories.
Glad you are on the road again! I just looked up DRZ-400 charging problems on ADVrider. This seems to be a common problem with the DRZ-400. Info explaining how the connector between the stator and regulator/rectifier gets corroded and causes problems like losing electrical power. www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=253888 This might be something to check during your downtime, not that you need anymore. Ride safe! Otto Moto likes to blow seals. ;)
I watched this vid months ago, but Andrea's stripped screws and bolts came to mind the other day. I bet that bastard, Otto, replaced your good screws and bolts with shitty ones he had lying about the shop. Btw, another great vid.
Regarding the oil issue, Becky, I'm assuming you turned your bike off in time before the motor burned out. Do you think the motor got any damage? And that other mechanic never told you guys what was wrong? It would have been good to press him for an answer in case it breaks down again. You're going to have to always check the bikes before starting them when serviced by someone else. I hope your travels get better ladies.
Well, that's it ... I started with EPISODE ONE, around 10am CST, yesterday and it is now 5am, 19 hours later ... Whew ... I still think you gals need to learn to count to FOUR, though, dammit.
OMG Sara and I aren't sure if we should laugh or cry. We wish we would have known you were have such a hard time there as we could have got you fixed up easy and fast in Quito. Good on you for not paying and blasting the idiot who didn't do anything correct.
So I take it you didn't burn the mechanic's shop?? I would have been hard pressed not to. Good luck and if you head back north I know a safe place to stay in El Salvador. My in laws live north of San Salvador.
Hi again! Glad you are on the move once again. That mechanic must have been a real dick head when it comes to motors. What is your next destination? Have a safe ride! Best wishes! Jon in Sweden
I have to ask you exactly where you are in this video..... my goodness my prayers are now sent for you both! When you have time can you post a map for me?? I am on Facebook. or email is sheonepure@yahoo.com The Reason I see the rocks behind you and would like to know what and where you are leaning against. They look like mega bricks!

I can't imagine your frustrations with those 'mechanics'. You must have been ecstatic to get back on the road.

***** Ah yes the mighty hindsight. Guys at EFBR are great and really helped us out.
yeah, motorcycle mechanics can be real hit and miss, why I quit working for scumbags and started my own shop. good luck to you.
Ladies, I'm in Houston, Tx there are many shippers here taking bus's trucks and lots of equipment south, holler if I can help.
Take care Ladies Thanks so much for the adventure.....
If I had to wait two months I would have lost my mind. I know perception of time is different down there, but that is way too long.

Yes, Otto is not a mechanic. Glad you got the hell out of there. More like a rip off artist. Lol
Nail Polish Remover (acetone) should remove that sticker.
