Never once made mention that the overall color scheme is likely based on the scene where Godzilla mercs King Ghidorah and eats his soul to charge his cellphone. So I'm acknowledging it here!
This is a double-cast figure. The initial casting is made of transparent vinyl with the glitter embedded, then the second layer of solid black vinyl is poured inside the mold for the color. There's many higher-end vinyls that use this method to gorgeous effect. Also good timing on the review, as the upcoming Premium Bandai Japan version with the alternate Hamtaro head is up for preorder.
Seriously, what a way to honor such a fantastic movie and design! Reeeeaaalllllly makes me wish Bandai would do stuff like that a lot more! Pete’s sake, the Goji’s and Co. DESERVE IT!
It looks like the vinyl has two layers, the bottom layer is solid black, and the top layer is clear vinyl impregnated with gold glitter. If you look at the tail from the side you can see a line where the black stops, and when you looked at the plastic when you pulled off the tail you could see those layers too. That would also explain why the black didn’t go all the way to the fingertips as the vinyl didn’t flow quite right
Very likely. The way they make these figures is with a method called roto casting, it's what makes them hollow. What they do is shoot the molten vinyl in to the mold and rotate it really fast, the centrifugal force causes it to cling to the walls of the mold making it hollow. I'm thinking they used the clear vinyl with the flakes first, and then shot the black in. Edit: I think that's why the fingers are totally clear, those parts wouldn't cast hollow, nor would things like the tip of the tail, or the dorsal spine spikes.
HOLY DAMN! This lad does look freakin Awesome! SHAM could never....maybe....idk.......no....or could they...? Anyway this is really a great looking Piece. And i don't know if its just me, but you look a bit tired, hope you're doing fine^^ And as always a great video my guy^^
Mine is in the mail right now! This video was really crucial in making me want to buy this. Such a cool figure, and its a shame that the standard Theater Exclusives for GMK are just kinda boring in comparison. Keep up the good work, been really enjoying your recent Bandai reviews.
Apparently if Im reading this right. They made this by using some select unsold theater exclusive 2001 Godzilla molds and then injected black ink like paint into some parts of the body, tail, arms, head, and legs, and then put the gold glitter around the same time or after and could be vice versa. Then they painted the things like tongue, teeth, dorsal spines, and claws. I say since I have one myself and seeing the parts without the black ink like paint, it looks like a similar color mold as the aforementioned theater exclusive. TDLR, it's a art piece theater exclusive Godzilla.
having recently got the standard gmk goji as that figure makes me want to hunt this guy down even more like there's something so appealing about seeing Godzilla having yellow spines for whatever reason and this figure truly commands a presence i really do need to hunt one down for a decent price
Mandarake my guy, Mandarake! Keep them eyes peeled! And I really see where you’re coming from! The yellow dorsal fins man… they just grab ya! The whole thing does, now whoever I look at that shelf, I’ll immediately just see his shiny, glittery, self. Always. Unless I can somehow finagle the other two GMK variants I’m missing 👀
My PFP is based off this figure and the marmit glitter GMK. This is definitely one of my favorite bandai figures I have. It's a toss up with it and the limited clear blue 2017 Godzilla.
Aahhh, bruh, the Marmit Glitter GMK is such a beautiful figure! That’s another I’ve had a hard time finding (both in general and for not, a lot of money) Really do need to snag me that clear blue 2017, always see it on sale and always miss it lol
I genuinely want to cry when I look at that figure. 1. Because it's such a beautiful piece. 2. Because I will probably NEVER own one for myself, unless I somehow find the deal of the millennia before anyone else.
@@ShinRobjira never thought I’d see the words, “I’m committed to SHAM” come out of your mouth lol. I’ll probs get him if I save up a wee bit and the maybe review him.
I love all the monsters in that movie besides king ghidorah, never should king ghidorah be the hero 🤦♂️ that is the only reason why I don’t like that king ghidorah he is meant to be a villain
Honestly that’s one of the reasons I love GMK so much, the super role reversal for Ghidorah was (personal) super awesome and to see Godzilla take out 3 dang monsters himself as an evil piece of ass, man, it still gets me lmao But your opinion is entirely valid here! Speaking of Ghidorah from GMK.. poor guy only got ONE variant. Talk about a shame. As that figure is NUTS!
@@ShinRobjira ya that’s true seeing Godzilla take on three monsters makes it really cool. I like the film but just prefer ghidorah as a villain but I like what you said and agree

It's very deserving that such an awesome goji design receives an interesting repaint. Gold and black is always an appealing color combination.

That intro got me Rob. Love the editing XD
I don't think I've noticed the background music before but it's really nice touch. Good job, Great review.

I really hope you make a vid on all versions, there really cool and I low key need a review on all because I’m going to try to collect them all.

Keep your eyes on Mandarake, fam! That’s where I got mine and believe me, $80 total is way better than $200 or whatever people on eBay are charging!
Dude!!! Why didn't I ever think to use a card sleeve to protect the tag dang it! Gotta run upstairs and do that to mine.
Hey Shin! Any plan on reviewing new P.Bandai MUTO 2 pack?
Shoprite? A fellow east coast occupant I see?
Oh yes!
An unbeatable bakery this side of the country!

Probably not, he’s a bit on the pricy side and I’ve already committed to SHAM this spring/summer. MAYBE. IN TIME. Be there a good price lol
