Robbie and his team are so respectful but this time they correctly called out the people who made this ghastly decision. My opinion is the person who decided to do this in this ancient two wheel drive truck with bald tires is a real tool. Not only that, they disrespected the land by going off and leaving a terrible mess. How hard could it have been to throw everything in the back of the truck before they took off with their rescuers. I sure hope they are able to pay for this rescue.

Good (difficult, challenging, hard-work, time-consuming, struggle) job rescuing the guy's truck (that wasn't worth 1/5 th of what your beat-up Can Am was worth before you broke it saving his truck) and helping out the Forest Service and the public so the trail could be USED by others guys! ;)

(Robby acted kind of like "are you kidding me?" when seeing what needed to be done. I think Matt said Robby was going to refuse the job and he needed a little prodding to get him to take it on.) I have a comment and a question about this video.
Comment: When you came to the fork in the trail, you looked on OnXmaps to choose which way. You said the site showed you the left fork would take you all way to road. (Whoops! Later you had to turn around, go back and take the RIGHT fork instead. (Was OnXmaps wrong about the left fork?) Now the question: Why in the heck did you guys decide to drive onto the log drag the two wheel truck along the whole length of it instead of moving it out of the way in the first place??🤔

    • @rudetuque

not to speak for the crew... but the log totally reads like late in the day, should just slide under the truck wth the side up the bank, wish we had more food and water and let's get it done. Or it happened to roll awkward.
As to On-X... likely the left fork was shorter and looked navigable (for the 50" designation), just saying that likely both worked bu the left fork had the appearance of benefits. As Berra said "when you come to a fork in the road, take it"

So many Pennsylvania connections. I live next to Mayfield, PA and Pinchot trail is named after Gifford Pinchot, a former governor of Pennsylvania and the father of the modern road system in the US. I’m done nerding out now, so I’ll keep watching the video.

Robby and Demri's Hillbilly has a LOT of sense plus a sense of right and wrong...the hillbilly who illegally took his family on a 50" trail, in a stock pickup truck, with two wheel drive only...DOESN'T HAVE EITHER. Good (difficult, challenging, hard-work, time-consuming, struggle) job rescuing the guy's truck (that wasn't worth 1/5 th of what your beat-up Can Am was worth before you broke it saving his truck) and helping out the Forest Service and the public so the trail could be USED by others guys! ;)

I had a 4X4 Dodge Ramcharger a long time ago that would go anywhere, and drag out stuck Chevys all day long. But there is no way in hell I would have taken it down that trail. Doing it in a 2 wheel drive with junk tires must have involved a bunch of booze.

The Austin Powers clip was funny and appropriate! There may have been some inconceivable factors to force this truck here, but o doubt it. Most likely some young dudes that aren’t smart enough and considerate enough to keep their 2wd beater on a trail open to full-size trucks. When people drive around blockades placed the state or feds, they deserve a fine. They also deserve pay Robby and crew for their and effort.

2wd, old beat to smith dodge, bald tires, pack of marlboros on the dash, enough junk in the trunk to conceal a body, endangers what sounds like their whole family, and they bypassed a 50 inch barrier. Real class.

She's the shinning star of layton recovery crew. 2nd like Hillbilly said wonder how much liquid brain reducer the trucks owner was on.3rd I'm thinking Robert Duvall in days of thunder taking a hammer and wacking a side panel. Awesome video again, like always - one thing, I'd reach out to Yankum, or watch a video of Casey Ladelle because that ring setup was designed to go through the hole and come back on itself but not through the hole again but around the around the ring (its why its not just a normal ring but the inner ring has a curvature to it, not to mention the ring hole being not dead center but offset) I apologize, its difficult to explain it into words. Either way its an awesome product by Yankum Ropes for sure.
