As soon as I heard how great the bassline was on the original, I knew this remix would be incredible. SNES soundfont really does make everything better; with enough skill at using it, that is.
I see the Necron battle like a metaphor for a near-death situation choice: Hope - We are here for you, it's worth living on - fight on! Despair - everything is goin' to die anyway, it is not worth it...give up.
Nugem Yeah everything else about the battle is pretty metal, like that metaphor, and the song itselfs kicks ass. But i still feel like Kuja, should have had a another form after he gets defeated, and uses Ultima, on you.
There's one theory that Necron is the underside of the Iifa Tree (which is why its writing in pain after you defeat Necron and I think that it also dies).
This is what I've always believed about Necron. Garland tells you that you only destroyed the physical manifestation of the Iifa tree (the soulcage), so Necron most likely exists as the spiritual manifestation that is responsible for the souls flowing back and forth between the two worlds (the soulcage simply turns souls that refuse to return to the crystal into Mist, it doesn't send them back and forth between Gaia and Terra, from what I understand). As a result of this position, Necron is literally the manifestation of fear and death. When Trance Kuja kills you with Ultima at the end of your fight with him (yes, you do, in fact, die, which isn't that hard to believe considering that Ultima was responsible for the destruction of an entire world), Necron then summons the souls of you and your party after being called forth by the fear and misery of Kuja and informs you that he will carry out the will of Kuja and destroy everyone and everything by annihilating the crystal, giving you one final opportunity to change his mind and prove to him that life is worth living by defeating him in battle (which you do and are revived as a result, and then Kuja saves you by teleporting you away from the Iifa tree). Probably wrong, but hey, not bad head-canon I guess lol.
Nice! Gradually getting to them all, I take it? I got the original US release of this game for my birthday in 2000 (which this birthday will mark 20 years ago that I got it). Played it, loved it. I ESPECIALLY loved that this game did the following: 1) Returned to a more quasi-medieval setting that I-VI were known for. 2) Brought back the classic notes of the battle theme from said previous titles. 3) For once had a party of more than 3 characters, at least the same amount as V and VI (XII doesn't count because the FOURTH in that case was ONLY A GUEST CHARACTER; I still have yet to play XV). 4) The ability to actually equip party members in manners similar to IV through VI. 5) The use of an ability system similar to the Job system from V. Necron, in my opinion among other players of this game, just struck me as a ridiculously shoehorned-in final boss for the game. There was none of the story-line build up used in many of the previous games. It was just... there.
And yes, that is the VERY SAME party I used for that fight that you displayed in this vid. That was just the group I found the best use out of overall.
@@civilwildman Also same party for me, I could simply never separate Steiner and Vivi. And I can't separate Steiner/Dagger or Zidane/Dagger, they all stick together to the end.

Necron: Hey, that's a pretty nice party you got there, would be a shame if I... used Grand Cross
That's basically Supernova on steroids.
with a splash of neutron ring and a rare hint of meteor
It sure would.
@@HarbingerYT Supernova if it also inflicted status effects.
With auto regen and excluding a party member to be a healer (garnet or eiko) that problem is cheesed away 🤣
Necron: “Hey while we fight wanna hear my mixtape”
(Killer baseline mixed to tortured screams)
I would love a SNES version of FF9! these sprites look AMAZING
@Player 1905 They are the Record Keeper sprites.
You can try it on Final Fantasy Brave Exvius.
i just spent 20 minutes looking for a romhack somewhere but no

type like him make a better version of "Force your way(Boss battle music)" from Final Fantasy 8
This ost slams, I just beat this game for my first time in my FF marathon. My favorite game in the series, love it came out in my birth year
When you're fighting as an evil entity to reset the timeline... oh wait wrong game
Ahhh the most random final boss in the whole series.

Necron is about as random as Kaguya at the end of Naruto Shippuden.

Always loved the Mellotron in the intro~ So haunting!
I would love to play a snes version of FFIX
Necron Ex Machina! Hahaha! NECRON OUT OF NOWHERE!
Best boss theme in FF

Whoa! Didn't expect a reaction that fast! :O
You're welcome, pal! ;)

Same party here too ^^
I’ve honestly been waiting for this one. The track is an absolute banger

This is the sound of a great theme! I applaud you
Me too I like to finish the game with the starter team :)
This SNES version sounds amazing, well done! I also love the player sprites!
I would like to point out that these are amazingly done :)
Zombie Apocalypse kinda vibe
I noticed you don't have the Darkness of Eternity or whatever the name of Kuja's battle theme is
Dark Messenger.
Excellent job Nugem, keep pouring out these remixes for that fan game. :D
Keep up the great work. :)
Would Final Fantasy IX Be even better if it was on the Super Nintendo?
In terms of sales of course not.
Nossa!
Valeu aí, haha!
Great work!!
I’m glad I became a subscriber to hear these! Amazing job! 💖
¡Impresionante! me encanto esa musica tome su like
Zidane:Humanity Will Never Give In!!#°•.
I need To add the animations paced with the music, but I d'ont know how too u_u
1:20, to get to the actual theme, lol.
So true bestie
Me: Now i can finally put this amazing game to re-
*[see's necron]*
Also me: i have no idea who this is
It's like final fantasy 4, you only know golbez but then zeromus appears
Just awesome!
Sim ;)
🧔🏽Zidane:Not🚫As Long As The🪩Will🪩Of Humanity Still Exists!!#°•.#️⃣
Zidane:Wtf!?
Nice! 😍😉😘
I don't understand how this is a remix.
Sounds great. But nowhere near the original. Especially apparent on the best part of the whole track, 2:03, it just lacks the oomph
That part in particular sounds almost identical to the original! I genuinely don't know what you're talking about.
