Scrapper's connection as a right leg suuuuuucks. Honestly makes me wonder how sturdy Menasor would be now that I'm 3 members away from completing the G1 version
It's just a collaboration that nobody asked for that's too expensive for what it is. A shattered glass G1 devastator probably would have done better simply because it's something unique that we've only gotten from third parties. On eBay I saw someone do metal conversions of the constructicons from actual tonka trucks and these things were stupid expensive, really fn cool. I think kingbotz is the guy who makes them.
In the G1 series, The Constructicons were originally a neutral or Autobot team. Then Megatron reprogrammed them into Decepticons. In season 3, it showed the Constructicons and two others build Megatron. Chip Chase, the human ally, wanted to reprogram them into an Autobot team. It ultimately failed. The autobots didn't want to build their own version.
Don't take that shot of the contructicons building megatron from five faces of darknesss seriously, it was an animation error, Five Faces Of Darkness and all the episodes had more animation errors than ushual, do you really think them animating the contructicons at a point when they shouldn't be decepticons is really benethe them?
Yours seems much better than mine bud. Totally agree with the bad names and they should’ve chose a different colour. Make them red and yellow, not just all yellow.
Interesting ideal for a Collab, as well as seeing Hasbro bring back the original G1 molds. Only ever experienced Devestator from a KO set I got conned into buying on Ebay many, many years back, and never felt any real incentive to get an official as the whole experience felt pretty meh, and underwhelming as the newer toys around this time felt much more fun/better value, but subjectively I get the nostalgia, and love for these older toys. I do however like the Tonka branding, the pinned wheels, chrome bits, and improved QC on this release. Would have also been neat to see a more recent larger variation used, but as big as they are I still feel no Hasbro release has really come close to making a screen accurate/playable yet alone affordable G1 Devestator.
Hi Graham, long time no talk. :D So while nothing defeats the Devistator, a lot of things can defeat the Tonkinator. Mostly that it was just a rush job to remind people that Hasbro owns Tonka and have done since the 90's. Rush job names, quality control etc. But at least the box looks nice and a few minor things were tweaked I suppose. I too saw Toys Are Russ's review of this guy and I think yours was staying together a bit better then his, but that's just from what I saw. Maybe like him, you might one day do a quick video showcasing your many Devistator's, but I guess we'll see. Keep up the good work. :)
Not bad actually. I saw Toys are Russ’ video too and it didn’t look great there, you must’ve got a good one. I had to get two sets of G1 Constructicons to make a decent Devastator and the first set would not combine without it falling apart, especially where Long Haul connects and the damn silver connector that flops all over the place on a loose used example. Fantastic combiner though now I’ve got it to stand but it took two sets to do it.
I wonder if any of the third party Devastators will match the Tonkinator colors one day.

Constructibots Transform Phase #1 Now Transform Phase #2 into Tonkanator 🤖Hahaha 🤣😂
Your camera makes me seasick. 🤢
Your comment just makes me sick
@The Collector 75 🤣
Maybe I should have asked is that an homage to all those shaky cam action scenes?
this should be priced around 50 dollas-euros max... looks like crap quality wise
