Sure. Send an unarmed team of social workers to a home with an armed suicidal person.
That would not have ended well.
Some folks making a racial issue of this is crazy.
Poor training on the part of the police is the only reason the defendant got out of the house. But then most D ruled areas have substantially cut training budgets.
