This fascinates me. Something similar to this happens in Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. Spoilers…not sure if anyone cares. It’s an older series. Syaoran (clone) eats Fai’s eye as a way to gain half of Fai’s magical power. Additionally, Syaoran (OG aka Tsubasa) GIVES that clone one of his eyes when the clone is created. He gives him half of his soul, basically. The clone removes and returns it when he eats Fai’s eye. So eye eating/removal isn’t new as far as I can tell. Unless this person specifically pulled from that. But I suspect it’s more of a cultural thing. We do say eyes are the windows to the soul. In these cases, the eyes hold a person’s soul/magical essence. (Tsubasa is Japanese, and this creator seems to be Chinese based on subtitling, but perhaps it’s more wide-spread in eastern cultures. I’m from the west, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen it displayed so literally as these two examples.) Just me observing and thinking. In this case, I don’t fully understand what’s gone on. Childe eats zhongli’s eye and seems to maybe gains an identical eye? But Zhongli keeps both eyes. More confusing, does he eat the eye Childe ate that was originally his? Because he doesn’t gain blue, but Childe loses the eye that was geo. So many questions…

me too ,i dont get why zhongli took childe eye off even though he have his eye intact or he just created a new ,and sincirely why childe accepted the act (perhaps his pride) and in the last panel they were walking side by side childe hiding his damaged eye ,did they recouncil? or was zhongli controling him ,the plot is a bit weird after the kidnapping scene for me lol . and why the eye become geo in the first place ? i think it was zhongli did in purpose to punish or toy with childe . i have many ideas lol ,if someone understand the lyric pls tell us whats all this about an eye and its color.
