Best weather station I have ever had. I watched your original video on it and bought one. Ants built a nest in mine this year and ruined mine. I bought another one. I can’t live without it. 73s
My first one died after three years (3 years ago). They replaced it for free!! My current one is now three years old and is starting to lose connectivity. Not a solar charging issue- its in Southern Arizona. They say they will replace it for half price.
Same here, I bought mine when it first came out. The battery died last year and I had to buy a new one (at half price). I checked the battery in the old one and it is not an 18650. It is something i have never seen before. Even if I could find the correct battery, it would require soldering to replace. It would be nice if they made the battery replaceable, rather that getting a new unit when the battery dies.
I lost the temperature and humidity after 3-1/2 years. Soon after, the baro and uv sensors dropped out. During the summer heat, everything came back. Now, with the cool weather, the temperature /humidity sensor stopped again. I'm going to see how long it lasts. I do like this unit, but I worry about its longevity
I’ve had to replace mine twice due to batteries that stopped charging. They did it at no cost though. I have real concerns about the accuracy of the wind and rain sensors though.
I purchased my Tempest because of your reccomendation and I am so glad I did. So thanks Eric. And I may be about due for a new battery also. Even though I do live here in FL like you, we can run into a few days in the row that we don't get the needed sun to charge the unit back up as needed. So I will get the message that the device has gone into save mode till it can get it's batteries back up to what the unit needs to function fully. I will give them a call also and see about a replacement battery. I do like this thing. It just works. Again thanks. Vic de KE8JWE
I still have an original weatherflow (2016) before they renamed it to Tempest. It's not solar charge but the AIR unit I change the batteries every 1.5 yrs and the temperature and latest almost 5 yrs
I've had mine for about three years and when it works, it works well. It stays connected to my network for about three months and then it stops. I then climb up to my tower, bring the station down and power off the unit and the hub. Then I start it back up and pair everything, then climb my tower to mount the unit, and I get about two or three months, and it stops again. After doing this four times, I gave up, and just settle for a cool looking but non-functional weather station. I thought about calling Weatherflow to see if they can resolve, but I just don't think it is worth the trouble. Mine is a fail.
I've had mine about 3.5 years. I bought it on the recommendation of a retired National Weather Service employee. Thanks for the videos! 73

I have had my Tempest for about 5 years as well. Still alive and kickin !!

I bought one because of your review. Very pleased with this WX station. Still have an old style rain guage. 13-inches of rain from Helene at my house.
My temperature & RH sensor failed after 3 years, but then magically fixed itself. I like the historical record keeping.

I first saw that on your channel and ordered one. It is a great device.

Bought one today on Amazon prime.. hoping it turns out good! I want to add a weather cam soon as well
Just in time for Milton. Be safe
I just got one it’s nice I do like it.
Has it been 5 years already?!

I just watched your video on the Davis. Why did you sell it? It looked like a solid unit.
Just replaced my LTO battery, I pray that it works!
Let me know how the new one works, I have been wanting to get a weather station for a few years now, they just are a bit pricey
I've had one for just over 3 years and not one glitch. It's been awesome. How did your Tempest fair with Milton?
No problem it's still solid

Eric, I hope you are not in the path of the latest Hurricane heading Florida's way. Stay safe.
11pm models now show most agreeing on the center passing directly over my house, we will see tomorrow at 8am model runs
I’ve had mine going on 2 years now but 18650 batteries are cheap. How hard is it to change?
Takes some soldering with the correct cell
@@HamRadioConcepts Cool, I’ll keep that in mind when mine hits that age. I enjoy your videos, keep ‘em coming. 73’s.
