Such a shame that the new farm owner is not currently allowing access to the caves in this area. I understand that there might be ongoing negotiations regarding this and that the owner is concerned about cars blocking the lane. From what I've seen, the farmyard area itself has ample space for a good few cars if necessary. He might also be missing a trick here, in that probably all visitors would be willing to pay a £1 in order to park and have access to the caves, just like the situation at Alum Pot and Long Churn, just across the valley at Selside. I struggle to estimate how many visitors they might get per year? 500? 1000? What Yorkshire farmer would pass up on that free cash per annum? (Joke). Most cave visitors are outdoor people also, who respect the land and would do their utmost to follow any guidelines and visit with the courtesy required. I hope that the owners reconsider soon and allow access again to these wonderful and historic caves.
There's aliens in there and I mean like from. The movie, you guys are crazy and face huggers will get you!!!! From your paranoid friend in my basement bunker
I know, hopefully something will be sorted. Was always the cave we took people for their first experience of caving because it has a bit of everything over a short distance
@@benanddavecaving8573not to sound nasty or out but ,,,, nobody owns the country side ! ! History proves the worst of luck to all that try ! To try and stop access to the beauty of yorkshire is worse than criminal - it's a moral sin ! 😈
Thanks for this - first cave I was in back in 1966, not sure I could get through these days! We also did a short trip upstream.
