The Coen Brothers's 'Ballad of Buster Scruggs' was my fav Netflix offering last year. Loved it. It's got a short story thing going on like Stephen Kings 'Cats eye'. Black humour.. all that good stuff. Has a lot of heart and atmosphere which I find rare in new films
When I first saw Pan's Labyrinth, I HAD to have it on DVD. So much intricate depth of meaning in each chapter of the story, as well as it's artistic decisions on when, where and why the story took place.
Easy A is fantastic, Emma Stone is glorious in it *but* Stanley Tucci, playing Olives father never gets enough credit for his part, God damn, I almost wish he was my father. (good clip selection, the adoption joke is friggin spectacular 🤣)

Great video once again, good sir. Uncut Gems is an excellent film; break-neck pace, intelligent and pretty shocking with a great performances from all. Inside Man, The Big Short, Prisoners, Lady Bird, Birdman, Captain Fantastic, Roma, Lost in Translation, Ex Machina and You Were Never Really Here are other great films available (in the UK at least). Best series to watch is Better Call Saul. Oh, forgot to mention Snatch and Collateral

I've watched Train to Busan 3 days ago with a friend. It was so much better than so many Holywood ecranizations with zombies. I'll keep close eye on your other suggestions for movies. Some of them I never heard before and they were mixed in with some that I absoluetly loved.

Some foreign non english movies on there as well, unfortunately my netflix region is Japanese and I get no english subtitles. And my japanese is not on the level where I can relax and enjoy the movie while reading subtitles. So I miss out on a lot. Star Wars makes me feel ashamed of claiming to be a sci-fi fan. The whole online shitstorm with the latest films destroying the franchise make me laugh. This franchise was never good in the first place.

I really liked episodes 4 and 5, the 6th was good but already had the Ewoks, the prequels are mostly boring, the sequels are mostly an embarrassment, Rogue One is good, and the Christmas special is extremely painful. It's a shame because the mythology of SW is great. It could have been an epic series of great movies.
hmmm well I've never had strong opinions about Star Wars really. But I never really enjoyed it much, any iteration(though the newest ones of course are a train wreck). I love Sci-Fi, and could never figure out why I didn't like Star Wars like everyone else....Now the Star wars video games? Many of those have been excellent fun.

I remember seeing Pan's Labyrinth in the theater when it first came out. My girlfriend at the time dragged me to see it totally blind and I loved that fucking film. I don't think I moved an inch or said a word the entire time.
Several of these looked interesting enough to watch. Unfortunately, they weren't on Netflix. I honestly don't know how they manage to prune away all the good content so accurately - but they do and they do so fast. If you catch something that looks worth watching on Netflix, watch it there and then because it probably won't still be there tomorrow.

'Leon', known as 'The Professional' in the US of A and 'Léon' in France, is great, especially if you get the Director's Cut, which reinstates a few scenes that the studio executives thought unsuitable. First film Natalie Portman ever did, when she was still a child, over her parents' objections, as they thought the subject unsuitable at her age. Best film Luc Besson (director), Jean Reno (Leon) Natalie Portman (Mathilda) or Gary Oldman (Beethoven policeman villain) will ever do. Jean Reno played the same professional hit man character in the same director Luc Besson's previous French film 'Nikita', which is also good but a bit strange, and in French, which in the English-speaking World entitles you to think yourself superior and sophisticated for having watched it. Luc Besson has been called the most American-like of French film directors. Amazing how knowledgeable DVD Special Features can make me sound.

'Leon', known as 'The Professional' in the US of A and 'Léon' in France, is great, especially if you get the Director's Cut, which reinstates a few scenes that the studio executives thought unsuitable.

Jean Reno played the same professional hit man character in the same director Luc Besson's previous French film 'Nikita', which is also good but a bit strange, and in French, which in the English-speaking World entitles you to think yourself superior and sophisticated for having watched it.
Luc Besson has been called the most American-like of French film directors.
