The reason the windows go up and not down on the exit row is simply because there's no room for it to come from the top! The over-wing doors aren't the biggest and so the latching mechanism for the door sits where the blind would usually stow away into. Loved the video, and what a deal to get all that for £2!!
I've only had the pleasure of doing the LGW BA lounge once (October 22, LGW-GLA) when I held Sapphire Status, I opted to fly to Glasgow from Gatwick solely to experience the LGW BA lounge and it was a good experience. Another enjoyable flight review!
@@liftoffandtravel The LHR T5 lounges are nicer, but get often crowded. The LGW lounge seemed a bit quieter on my visit. The T3 BA lounge seemed average.
Good video - its very annoying that BA no longer fly from LGW to FNC which they did for two decades before the pandemic. I don't like LHR and it takes me 3 hours to get home from that airport.
Thanks Michael 😁 Agreed LHR can be long, luckily it's closer than LGW for us. We prefer LGW though. Was that during the shake up? Used to like that Barcelona was from T3
Cheers speed bird 🍻 we love Gatwick. Such a relaxed experience. At least at the south terminal anyway.... I think you're right but it's been a long time since we made this one. Where abouts did I ask what the mystery plane was 🤔✈️
@@liftoffandtravel I have flown extensively from LGW and LHR but much prefer LHR to be honest (with a far better selection of lounges). The 'mystery plane' 8:48 - the sleek, swept-back wingtips suggest it's a 787 :)
@@shehebehsuebwisshgauwbevsjs at this rate we'll never see it 😂 gutted about the Manchester part. Still hoping that Old Oak Common might have a decent link to Heathrow
Not worth flying form lhr to Europe by ba unless you are flying from other countries like USA or Canada to Europe by using ba as an layover, Gatwick is better using ba to Europe so as easyJet wizzair and Ryanair most popular routes to fly directly
@@UmarKhan-w8l it's certainly useful for building points and I used to love the lounge access but living in the Midlands if I can fly locally now I will... Not worth the expensive of parking the car, train or coach cost and the allowance of time just incase there is traffic or something. We love Gatwick for BA. Have you been in the lounges?
@ Heathrow for long haul only wider planes, other airlines from Heathrow to Europe, not worth it like Lufthansa and Iberia unless you getting layover flight will be perfect choice at your next destination, London Luton Gatwick it stansted for Europe better to fly directly, I live in Luton I flew from Luton to Paris by easyJet, worth it mate.
Wait, you find it normal that the economy service on a regular airline is the same as a low cost airline while paying a $100+ compared to $35-$50 on Ryan air, except for the allowance of a hand luggage in the cabin ? Lufthansa literally downgraded their service as well compared to pre-covid. Only Air France maintains its consistency of offering a sandwich and a coffee/tea/juice on a short-haul european flight.
Normal can be such a broad word. Remove the sandwich and drink and most airlines are the same seat in a different colour. Perhaps with slightly different pitch and occasionally width. Air France have been pretty good. Except where they didn't load any food for me and one other passenger in Business Class. Have you tried their Airbus A220? It's such a wonderful way to fly ✈️
@@liftoffandtravel My apologies the if the term '' Normal '' sounded rude the way I put it in the sentence but literally, I think just a snack and a drink on board makes a massive difference on the soft product of an airline. For instance flying economy from Europe to JFK which is 6 hours-8 hours flight, the flight usually goes with a meal and a pre-landing snack with drinks in economy. Based on that, the snack and the drink definitely makes a big difference on a short haul flight for the price difference between a flagship carrier and a low cost airline. Moreover european domestic flights business class would appear more of a joke since the price is doubled and sometime tripled but the seat is the same in economy, and on Lufthansa the economy seat is even better than Business Class due to the difference in leg room 😂😂😂. So the soft-product is definitely a factor I am supposed to fly the A220 from Berlin to Paris on the 4th of September with Air France. Looking forward to it. But I did try the A220 with Swiss Air, really liked the aircraft

Thanks Coy, outside of the US this is really common to just knock out the middle seat.

If you have status, not worth it tbh (but very good food!). And agreed about the t5 lounge's hospital feeling...
Hard to give up the status 👍 but we live in the West Midlands so always a commute to London 😔

Does a320/21 fleet have WiFi available?
According to their website it's still being rolled out. Pretty sure most of their planes have WiFi now 👍

Believe me he as excited to go, he's just not the happiest to be on camera. Turin is abeautiful city very old school.
