Hi, thanks for another great beer kit review video. I tried this with 250g dark candi sugar and 250g brewing sugar. I stored it away for 3 or 4 months. To me it had liquorice and chocolate/cherry flavour a bit like a dark forest gateau. Very thick with a dark head, same as yours.

Cheese on fruit cake is a Yorkshire standard. Works really well

Good of them to replace your kit so fast, top service. Speaking of Xmas cake chaps, have you made Xmas pudding wine? They do get very cheap in the supermarkets after NY day.

Chris, you never fail to surprise. I have never made Xmas pudding wine and having looked into it I can't see that I ever will. Have you?

@@nigeandersextraordinarybee3723 Yes, its a bit of faffing around and it needs 3 years in the bottle, but the finished wine is very good and quite unique.

Not convinced I'm afraid, the phrase "quite unique" doesn't sell it. 😆

Yum my favourite. The Xmas cake and jam may a good addition to your next festival. What was your fg. Do you reckon it could have fermented out a little more. Cheers.
Ps I notice brew germ do a barley wine. Dangerous
I’ve just purchased the imperial stout with Muntons dark Spray malt. I’ve bought some bourbon oak chips which were also on clearance from beer to bottle. I think I’ll add some vanilla and maybe some coffee beans. Should be interesting. Maybe ready for Xmas.

I had the same hydrometer reading for three days. It had already been in the fermentor 33 days so thought it was good to go. In retrospect another week might have done it some good. Or at least a couple of days at a higher temperature. My heat mat and thermostat were being used in another Brew. Your brew sounds meaty enough to be served with a fork and knife!

Looks great. I’ve been tempted by a lot in the Brew Ferm range but never taken the plunge yet. I think I will get some in my next order 👍

I brewed Brewferm Belgian Brown, I haven't tried it yet but I bought it because it could make 15 litres and was the same price as the ones that only make 9. This video has convinced me to try the 9 litre ones. I wonder if it would be worth buying two 9 litre cans to brew at once, I don't like the idea of waiting a few weeks for less than half the bottles I would usually get.

I used some 330ml bottles, and the batch went much further. The Dubbel I made was all in 500ml bottles and it went so quickly, but I have saved some from the batch. I do get it, but it is stupidly strong. I have made a second batch of the Dubbel, and it is mostly in 330ml bottles. This stuff really benefits from months in the bottle not weeks. It really is worth waiting, the longer the better.

@@nigeandersextraordinarybee3723 Do you recommend Brewferm's Dubbel? I like Belgian ales. I did Festival's Dubbel and although it was quite good, it didn't quite meet my expectations.

Anders has done the Festival Dubbel a couple of times, the first was not that great, but the second one was fantastic. Both reviews are on here.
