The shade looks strong and dependable, besides worrying about bad weather during a hurricane its the Looters or vandals you need to watch out for. If there was a pad lock or prevent someone from unlocking it while you were away from your home.
We can place the arms on the back side of the shutter if you don't like the way they look on the sides. But they will have to be removed before deploying the shutter in the hurricane position. The shutter in the video meets the FBC code protocol.

Drilling and screwing the second screw is a better idea to ensure decrease the chance of it shifting out of level.
What is the overall width of this window? That’s including the trim boards.
Window and trim together is 44" x 45"
What size drill bit?
Did you mount to the window frame and was it Vinyl or wood ? We have new Construction Vinyl windows and don’t think we can mount to the frame.
These would be mounted to the frame, not the window itself.

Seems like a lot of unattractive brackets on the outside of the shutter. Would look nicer if they could be on the inside.
