    When I listen to this track, I always imagine a rapidly flashing montage of footage from impressive/terrifying moments in human history. The space race; the holocaust; the discovery of penicillin; the invention of the atomic bomb; the fall of the Berlin Wall... and on and on...

      I wouldn't say ripped off, I'd say advanced. I mean that in the most respectful way possible, the world lost something great when D. Boon died and the minutemen became no more and I think it's nice that Fugazi were able to build the frantic nature of this music into their sound.

      @@slimjim23 ugh never talk to punk fans, so self righteous. Sorry dude, D. Boon died and the band broke up they could have gone on but they didn't. Don't get butthurt because another band adopted their sound. I could just as easily say that Minutemen ripped off Captain Beefheart which by your standard would also be true, but I don't because I'm not some brain dead punk purist that thinks no two bands can sound similar or be influenced by one another without "ripping them off". I'm also curious as to how much of Fugazi's discography you've actually listened to. I mean if you think they made millions (they didn't and all live fairly modest lives) off using Minutemen's sound then you've not listened to really most of their music.

      i think its kind of a conciousness stream on the dialectics of practical life and self-reflexion as an individual which is part of a socio-economic-historical context....I guess. And probably also something about evaluating opportunity chances. Thats my guess
