The “hiding elixir” trick also served another purpose. I remember training a barrack full of a troop that was about to be upgraded and the finishing the upgrade and refunding the troops back for the new higher price
Yeah, but it's not effective since you only can used it one times. It's just not worth of the time you spend if you using the hiding elixir trick to save elixir from enemy

Royal Ghosts were just a part of the Halloween season, but most people used them for completing their Single Player Goblin Maps
I did this too, they are so op, you don't need any spells, just a full royal ghost army and you could nearly tripple any goblin map.
I dint do this nor completed that part of coc
I defeated the last “ dragon lair “ with just 5 Royal ghosts , bcz we just needed to destroy only the buildings not the dragon itself

I just use sneaky goblins. Works just as well. That’s what I used to triple the final map.
One that always seems to be forgotten about - back around the time when TH10 was the highest, you could drop below 100 trophies, at the level you suddenly found LOADS of TH9/10 bases with insane loot. It was like a little fight club for looting! But the second you went offline you'd end up getting 100's of trophies in defences and have to work your way down again
It was wild, abandoned bases galore. Back when a few hundred thousand of gold and elixer was a HUGE take lol.

It just has the lowest % that you can steal at 3% compared to like 25% from storages and 75% from mines. Working off memory for the numbers so they could be off.

a tiny amount though that used to be worse as it used to be treated like a normal storage and so you lost quite a bit
An exploit that could be added in a Part 2 (if it will ever happen) would be fooling the old AI of Wall Breakers. Today, Wall Breakers prioritize rows of walls before individuals walls. However, back in the day, the Wall Breaker would prioritize any wall, so it didn't matter if the closest wall was a lone one, or a row. The strategy behind this exploit is that players would make bases where lone walls would be placed 3/4 tiles (I think) forward the wall that protects the base. In doing so, the Wall Breakers would never go for the rows of walls, essentially making them useless. Supercell's fix was an AI change, where Wall Breakers first target for rows of walls, but their troop count was increased from 1 to 2.
I remember mentioning that a few times in videos, I forgot about that one for this video haha.

I noticed current wallbreakers dont target specifically wall they target wall which have buildings behind them ,also they have a detection range if the buildings are out of detection range then they will simply bust the nearest wall.
@@md.sifatsarkar2775 Technically, the Super Troop version of Wall Breaker do that. The original would target the nearest row of wall, even if there are no buildings near it.

As others have mentioned, loot from the treasury CAN be stolen, but I probably forgot because it’s such an insignificant amount, 4% of what it can hold.
Anyways this doesn’t effect the “hiding resources” strategy, I was only showing features that have helped to keep more of your loot safe now a days.

I remeber in 2016 the top leaderboard i think was Moose who was an engineered th 11 account with only a level 1 cannon

Not exactly valueable to only destroy cc for cc troops since poison is a thing and you would have spent far less resourses by using those lightning on actual defenses.

Operation Blue Skies was a blessing and a curse... But they had no choice as people found ways to minimize their offline-time without shield. Especially for low th pushers - I remember a buddy who went full beast mode with that. Even the whole personal break system that was supposed to prevent stuff like this didn't work

You should have mentioned how earlier you could just bring a lot of healers and basically have an immortal hero. Now more than 4-5 is redundant because how much they can heal at least once is capped

My favorite part about havoc is how he puts a section for where the sponsor so we know where to skip exactly
Note on the storage shield
1: the storages are immune to all damage spells except skeleton and bat.
2: the Town Hall and Clan Castle were also given a spell shield to prevent easy star or even avoid CC troops
3: all collectors did not get a spell storage. You can still lose loot that the collectors picked up for you

Maybe you could have said something about the staying online forever time where people built machines that let them stay online forever, helping them to push. Also zapping Clancastle and wardenwalk wasn’t intended
A side note about the engineered base are the .5 bases that is set to trick matchmaking to be considered as a lower level town hall while having upper town hall attack strength

I remember when they weren’t, builder base walls are now seperate, you can now change hero abilities, the town hall has a built in weapon, there is a second stage to builder base if you 3 star it (at higher town halls)
Seeing King God Castel as my favorite game to kill short time like in queue or waiting something as ads in this video is definitly unexpected
As someone who played from when the game released this was a good flashback of happy memories trying whatever i can to make my progress smoother in the game.
I remember back in the day encountering a few villages with exposed town halls. I just attacked the town hall first for the guaranteed star, then let my army destroy as much as possible, laughing at the opponent the whole time.

I used to hide troops all the time :)
And the lightning spells destroying resource storages basically broke the game until they nerfed it. I also used shielding in EVERY base design! It was great! Removing it made me very sad.
I always cooked up some troops right before an event ended. For example, Golem event. 90% off of golems. Put them in the oven at low cost, event ends, cancel training, get the full 100% resources. I did that every time. Got a lot of free loot that way.

I left coc years ago and in 2022 i downloaded it again. Man was i shocked to find out that none of my friends knew what farming meant (keeping TH outside). Oh I'm also shocked that there's no global chat :(
I remember back in the day, troops were soooo expensive that even though I had access to the 7 troops, I'd always just use giants and barch 😩

Clan perks like auto upgrade upon donated troops even if they are a lower town hall also you used to be able to donate maximum level troops to all the bases in your clan a good example is in war you donate max troops to your lowest level town halls and the attacking army would fail or struggle to star

For the xp exploit, they kind of fixed it
Now players have customised request, you cannot donate anything else.
So if u are changing clans for xp by donating, u probably have to wait for training different troops
Outside town halls helped a lot when you could get the whole win bonus just by taking 1 star.

I remember storing loot in the barracks but I kept on forgetting about it and attack with my real army only for it to be replaced with an expensive and in affective one😢

Ah yes, I remember the Dark Elixir struggle with Lightnings, I basically had to attack people as much as possible every day to not go negative in Dark Elixir quantity every day.
I still have an Engineered base , but in the update , it auto added EA , 1 wizard tower, 1 archer tower , name was "DU30"

Req and leave clans are a blessing for me.
As a th 13 with my all my other accs only being th 10 - th 12. Req and leave clans are a perfect way to get my cc troops. Though now we can use raid tokens to fill up our ccs.

I love how passionate you are about these things. As someone who's been there since the very start of coc. i feel your excitement lol
The exploit i absolutely despised the most was “ghosting”. It allowed players in war to start an attack, put their phone into airplane mode, and do a practice attack against your base for a short time. The loss of connection allowed them to reset and attempt the attack again. It was infuriating to watch this happen over and over again, then get 3 starred because they knew exactly where all your traps were. I remember the sinking feeling in my stomach whenever we would get matched with an Asian clan, because we knew that they would probably use this strategy.
Engineered bases were bad, but nothing made me want to quit clash more than watching attacks being started against our top bases, then stopped, over and over again, until finally that person 3 stars the base.
What is funny is the fact that havoc is a true og he ain’t lying about these they’re almost to fact on these videos.

I think you forgot the troop level donation have no level reduction when donating to lower townhall levels where it is super annoying in the past until they nerfed it, that's all happy new year 🎉
I used to like that when I was lower ths I’d get like th11 troops donated to me through 6, 7, 8, 9 made attacks easier
i used to keep event troops in my army camps for the hell of it. one time i had giant skeletons sitting in my camps for like a year

An unintended way of fixing req and leave clans is clan capital
ahh i remember those days especially , when u have pc and emulator (bluestack or nox) install coc and viola you have 24/7 shield for trophy pushing.
I miss old school farming. I enjoyed playing that way. Come and go as you please knowing your loot was safe bc of a shield

Leaving Town Halls (TH) on the outside of your bases was legit one of the best strategy anyone could find out back then. Though it was changed, it is still used on some Clan Wars similar to how Engineered bases still exists to this day and are still used by some players. It doesnt work well in Clan War Leagues (CWL) but TH 10 players benefit a lot with this strategy in normal Clan Wars with the introduction of Siege Machines.
But Queen Walk was truly a miracle find. Whoever figured it out first back then was truly a mastermind in terms of strategy. I'm not sure as to how one could think of a strategy like that if it werent for their brilliant thinking skills.
maybe they just looked one day that: oh queen stays relatively far from defending things while attacking said things? and she has high health? what if i would put healer to follow her to heal the damage that she gets when she gets bit too close? ok that went better than expected, what if i would put 2 healers? that went even better.
Oh i remember reaching TH7 And getting my king back then waa extremely hard to do. It was 50k DE i think so you would need about weeks of none stop farming and spamming spells on DE was massive and everyone was pulling for their own.
I would like for xp to have a use in the future, like how it is useful in clash royale. Maybe a hero or defense with stats based on your xp level.

I still use the Skeleton, rage, and invisibility spell exploit on the dark storage. Pretty great for farming.

I think that the real utility of the req n leave clans was that if u were alone in you clan and needed troops you would just pop into their clan, get the troops and leave, usually according what to get talking in the global chat
I remember the time when tesla deals 2x damage to pekka because they have metal body and at th10 you could not heal through inferno beams because they were just "too hot"

there used to be an exploit which let u skip the entire battle after placing down all of your troops by just force closing and re opening your game (im not 100% sure if this was the method) but it let u skip the battle entirely and get the battle result
its still in the game today. the game doesn't need you to be there to simulate an attack. once you put in the inputs, the rest of the battle can be simulated again and again, which is how replays work.
@@taryth. this is true, i do it often myself. but what happens if the player being attacked is watching and you as the attacker close the game.
@@louisreynders8345 the attack still continues, however when you log back on you will see the results in your attack log since it has been simulated. the owner of the village you are attacking will continue to watch the attack as normal until it ends.
