Onam sadhya which is served on Banana leaf is served with a variety of food as seen in the video but what the video forgets to mention is that food is served as 6 suvai or 6 tastes of the tongue which is Sweet, Sour, Salty, Bitter, Pungent, Astringent and all the food served on the plantain leaf represents all the 6 tastes. So you will find a food with each of the 6 tastes.

Any one can celebrate the hindu festivals there s no religious restriction.....and u can also visit any Hindu Temple without any restriction....but there is some temples are only allowd ony for women and some temples are only for mens... But this is not for gender discrimination...
Iman, what Moazzam meant by 'state festival' and that anyone can celebrate, is that this is not just a festival for Hindus, people of other religions also celebrate Onam in Kerala. Christians and Muslims of Kerala also celebrate Onam. 👍👍👍👍👍
Plantain offerings is shown in the video. Plantain yaane banana, the whole bunch of banana is offered to the God. Without banana chips and banana dishes the onam feast is incomplete. Because holly cow concept is not hindus but its brahmin. But we are dravidians. We and cows are not emotionally connected. We saw it as just a food item. Thats all.
@PROs THETic apart from your view ,there was a huge volume of hindu conversion to islam after the first cheraman perunal got converted, then a lot were christened through ages by the missionaries, and finally tipu sultan converted many thus beef entered the upper caste cuisines post conversion ,rather a deliberate act to abolish caste system, the only act that can be attributed to abolish caste system in kerala is the temple entry proclamation for the non upper caste.

Prahlad the grandfather of Mahabali was as per me perhaps the greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu(we consider as god-the-almighty).He was the King of asuras and Purandara the present indra (the king of celestials or devas they are called.)All Indras are pre-designated for this kalpa(bhrama's one day time -4320000000 our years-14 Indras and manus rule celestials and human beings during this period-14x71=994 chatur yugas.First 3 and last 3 chatur yugas don't have any rulers as such.A clause says if a person conducts 100 yagas or yatnas as they are called they can Sit in Indra's throne and ask him to vacate. Mahabali after prolonged wars decided to conduct yaga and in his100 th yaga-Lord Vishnu came as a vaman(bhramin boy). He reached the yaga site asked alms-3 feet of space for performing penance-Bali was already enthralled by the aura and aesthetic handsomeness of the boy-he agreed-went inside to bring the utensils and water for the task to be performed-His guru Shukracharya warned him of the Lord and said he would be deprived of everything.His reply "If it is Lord himself ,I am the luckiest person in this universe,the Lord asking me for something which is his and I am only a temporary caretaker at this juncture."Lord measured the whole world in 2 steps and asked for 3 rd step to which Bali shown his head stating -you asked alms not in this form-take 3rd step in the original form and place your foot on my head-He was sent to Suthala -a nether world where he rules- nobody dare attack his world as Vaman is his security guard there.He will take over as the next Indra -after -(43x4320000)+432000-5122 years(period compleed in this kali yuga).A perfect powerful muscular body like a yaksha very handsome looks around a 40 year old of current earth.(had seen him-not like the comical figure shown in Kerala-arts and folklores etc.Also the story of he being King of Kerala etc also seems more of folklore or fairy tale to get audience interest - to me)
