Joe Hisaishi - Nostalgia | Howl's Moving Castle OST Lo-Fi Type Beat | Live Loop Version

I hope you enjoy this live play through of my latest original piece "Nostalgia". I wrote the piece with the inspiration of the incredible work of Joe Hisaishi, particularly the Howl's Moving Castle OST. I hope this song takes you to a calm, beautiful place; where your searching has finally ended and you are with those you love. I increased the tempo from my studio version from 93 bpm to 100 bpm for this to give a little bit better pacing for the video. Let me know if you would like me to do more live versions of my other works.
When I compose, I really fall in love with the way that every piece sort of finds itself and its identity just a little bit more with each added layer. Much like life, it is not until we take the time to look back that we realize how far we have truly come. As I play and each layer gets added, I feel as though another piece of the mystery is revealed. The jump cut to the video loop of Howl & Sophie reuniting on the hill side is meant to symbolize the revelation of what this song is. Just like in life, it isn't until the final piece is added that we can truly appreciate God's work in our own lives. Trust in him, for you will one day stand in a beautiful place and all that you can do is praise and worship him for his goodness, mercy, and love in taking every broken, seemingly irredeemable part of you and make it into something so beautiful. We often find ourselves going through life with moments of nostalgia hitting us for days gone by, thinking "If only I could go back and experience those days again, knowing what I know now and truly cherish them." It's a sad reality that we often live our lives wishing for days gone, only for the days we ignored looking back to become the days we one day will long for.
I want to encourage you my brothers and sisters to live your life with the eternal / future in mind. I am here to testify that I do not miss or long for any of the nights I spent on my own, I only miss those days spent with ones I cannot get back. Be purposeful in your time, for this world will take everything that you allow it.
If the present truly is a gift, then I want to give my time to ones who will cherish it with me. God has revealed so much to me through my incredible wife; the times I cherish most are the days and nights where we do simple things: sitting together, walking together, shopping together, talking together, playing games together, and just laying down to be with one another. But all of these would mean nothing if it were not together, the same way that doing the simplest of things with her outweighs any other option. For I do not know if I have tomorrow, but I will love, honor, and cherish God and her with my time today.
We do not all have the magic ability that Howl does in the movie to go back in time and find our lost loves once again. But through Jesus, we do have an eternal life in heaven to be together with the one who loves us so much that He, at the beginning of all creation and time; looked forward to this precise moment, and saw you. Yes you, listening to a random song you don't even know how it popped up into your suggested videos, God saw you. Not only did He see you, He loved you. As He loves you still. And He said to Jesus, "My child whom I love is lost, my child whom I love is hurting and lonely, without hope. They can't find their way back home to me on their own, so Jesus, will you please go and bring back my child? Will you please go get your sibling and bring them home. Though they left me, I need you to pay the ransom to get them back from the grasp of the enemy." And Jesus, knowing this would mean His death, said, "For your child, my brother, my sister, if none others are saved, only this one. I will go."
