  • Treatments and getting set for over a month of healing the body. Broken bones must heal and must be stabilized in order to heal. Becoming more coherent. Learning more about a spinal cord injury. Reality is not pleasant.

I really appreciate these videos. I have been your father-in-law for almost ten years, and although we have had many conversations about your accident and its effects on you, these videos have covered even more ground and have given me an even better perspective of the accident and its aftermath.

Bob, on the one hand I find your observation interesting and yet mostly, I am not really surprised. Overall, my injury some 53 years ago is to me at this point, basically, old news. It is like picking up a newspaper from a box up in the attic noting the moon landing in 1969 as being news. It most certainly was big news in 1969 but not so much now in 2021. I have absolutely no emotional difficulty or feelings of personal privacy invasion with addressing questions and telling the story surrounding my personal experience with my injury and my life. Also, you of all people I would certainly be completely comfortable with sitting and talking about anything at all most assuredly including my injury and the aftermath. My injury is a personal experience. It certainly does have components which may be of help to people facing the same road ahead. You certainly have become a positive factor in my life, disabled or not.
