To the end now time is hast'ning;
Earth for harvest ripens fast.
Soon the firstfruits will be ready;
These will Jesus gather first.
In the clouds again He cometh,
Ere the harvest dark begins.
Then our time on earth is over,
And to rest we enter in.
2.
Keep your calling e'er before you
In the midst of trial and need.
This you must if you're to ripen;
In the strife be glad indeed.
From this earth your thoughts are lifted
As your mind is turned to Him.
You are being freed from people,
And God's pleasure you will win.
3.
When God gathers in the firstfruits,
There'll be those who must remain.
Then the storms will break around them;
They'll stand comfortless in shame.
They will have to bear their sorrow,
For they disobeyed His Word.
They would not learn to be godly,
For they loved the things of earth.

Hear the Spirit calling clearly:
"Leave the world and turn to God.
Will you be among the firstfruits?
Will you be the Lamb's dear bride?"
If obedient, you'll sing praises-
Songs of joy to God on high.
When the earth with fear is trembling,
You will meet Him in the sky.
