A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms Episode 5 Explained
ruclips.net/video/OJpLLRGW40s/video.html
when in doubt, blame bloodraven
He is best targaryen
😂😂😂😂😂 Exactly. Everyone always blames him for everything anyway 😂.
If Lyonel and Dunc have a falling out, I’d be sad.
Dunc kicked his ass when he rebel years later
Spoiler alert ⚠️
Dunk kills him later on
Dunk does NOT kill him later on....lol
@stephaniewoznicki2641they both survive the next trial by combat.
Maekar was devestated.
Aerion has a son latter so he didn't lose "lower parts".
Ya someone said it was Varys? Like is that true?
He lost his marbles though thinking wildfire is a delicious treat. 😅😅😅
@JellyJugzwe have no idea, it's all theories
@JellyJugzaerion had a legitimate son maegor, but it was said that he had bastard children in lys where maekar sent him in exile (he then comes back), however it would hardly be aerion's son since aerion died around 20 years before varys estimated birth (aerion died in 232 ac and varys birth is estimated between 250-260 ac), however since lys was a valyrian colony at one point there's probably hundreds of valyrian descent people there, even targaryen ones, and varys could be one
5:24 very unlikely, since he goes on to have at least one kid.
Baelor wore his sons armor the jousting armor not his own battle armor Meakar was rushing to help his son and didnt think that his brothers helmet would not hold the hit so he didnt really wanted to hurt him so badly kill him whatever.
It would be so sad to watch Dunk's gloomy 9and a bit of emo) phase as his soul is crushed after witnessing Baelor's death first hand 😔
I think the “Lionel is making a play for the Iron Throne” read might be a stretch from one trailer line. It’s more consistent that he’s furious about honor/debt (“I bled for you”) and sees Dunk as a once-in-a-generation fighter he wants in his orbit - not necessarily a coup. Also, with Baelor dead, succession politics get messy, so “perfect time to rebel” isn’t as clean as it sounds.
If Lionel is recruiting, do you think it’s about building a power bloc, or just a Baratheon being a Baratheon and wanting the best warrior?
Lyonel is going to rebel 30-odd years in the future, not because he wants to rule, but because of a perceived insult to his daughter. He will call himself the Storm King and try to remove the Stormlands from the Targaryens' dominion. A trial by battle with a certain very tall knight happens, and the rebellion ends. As part of the peace, the king's daughter is betrothed to Lyonel's heir - they become the grandparents of Robert Baratheon and his brothers.
Lionel fights with Dunk simply to have an opportunity to fight and make history, while also damaging some King’s Guard. He literally says it in a prior episode.
Maekar isn't next in line, Baelor had two sons and there is two other brothers before him. He was just fighting savagely to get to Aerion and save him from Duncan...
When did I say anything about maekar wanting the throne himself? I said in the video the reason he hit Baelor was to get to his son
@JellyJugzhe was in a 2 vs 1 with Baelor and Lyonel too, he hit Baelor while he was trying to hit Lyonel, he was in father mode....."my boy!!!"
I think your spot on about Lionel
I actually had the rumor Henry Cavill might be tapped to play Aegon the Conqueror...if this were true....that'd be cool....
ain't happening mate for a lot of reasons, first aegon the conqueror was around 25-27 during the conquest period, and cavill is aloready 42 and by the time they adapt something like the conquest he would be maybe nearly 50, the other thing is that the rumor is boit the season 2 of a knight of the seven kingdoms after a little tease in an interview, but that could just bé them trolling fans since it has been years and years that people were asking for cavill in westeros, plus everyone is saying that he might be daemon blackfyre in a flashback of the blackfyre civil war, and sure cavill does match daemon blackfyre's looks (especially him in gerlat looks), however there's also a problem there, cavill is 42 now and daemon blackfyre died at the age of 26
@selka4598 And Robb was 15 in the books and 20 in the show. They age up characters all the time.
@selka4598Cavill looks like still in his 30s.
@selka4598not the conqueror its daemon blackfyre
I'm more interested in who's gonna play as Queen Vesenya
the war coming is another Blackfyre rebellion. not sure Lyonel was thinking past that. he does clearly support Duncan and likely did want him as a knight
Yes it’s crazy to see how much dunk has changed, he dreamed of being a household knight, now he turns down a powerful house to keep hedge knighting
Why not show the trailer before the breakdown?
Because this is a small channel with not much experience. Oh wait.
Targaryen are extraterrestrial.
Was waiting for a rocky reference thanks
That’s what initially thought lol bro was getting destroyed out there
is that princess daenerys next to daeron that definitely isnt his wife since shes a martell and she looks to be a similar age so i think its daenerys also i think we see kierra of tyrosh next to valaar with the pinkish hair and probably myriah martell and maron martell behind daeron and daenerys
Lyonel is essentially a Targaryen as well js 👀 and yeah there had already been a long line of Baratheon’s trying be part of the crown by this point
Exactly! He’s an opportunity here and I think he is going to try and take it
Lyonel and dunk having a falling out makes so much sense with everything going on later
I wish we got to see some lyonel dunk action before it happen doe
No, it is not lol.
Yep, I kept waiting for Dunc to say, "Cut me Mick", LOL.
Bloodraven always killing the good ones 😂😂
Only two Kingsguards? The third one died?
Ya tbh I just assumed he wasn’t there lol but that could be why we never saw his face cause they knew they were going to kill him off
All 3 kingsguard survive. Only 1 had to carried off the field
@JellyJugz Wydle gets no love lol
KG are super overrated.
Lyonel did indeed risk more than Baelor, but lets not pretend he did that "for Dunk". He did that for himself in a selfish attempt to kill princes and kingsguard. Protecting Dunk was just a by-product of that and still not guaranteed as Dunks life was still VERY much in danger. Aerion was a better fighter than him at that point just because of the stark contrast in their upbringing. Dunk just happened to he huge and very tough. But isn't that always the way? Spoiled princes never have the grit of a person who came up hard in life!
Help is help. No matter what reason. He risks his life and helps dunk .
I read somewhere that during the fight... it was baelor and lyonel vs maekar.. However, Maekar cant seem to remember, when he hit the fatal blow to the head of Baelor. He really cant remember....So if Maekar did not give the blow to the head of Baelor, the closest fighting man to Baelor is......Lyonell. Lyonell mustve been the one who hit Baelor. However i just read this somewhere.. so its just a theory...
No Maekar hit Baelor...
It's strongly implied that Maekar was the one who dealt the fatal blow to Baelor, which Maekar will regret for the rest of his life.
It wasn’t lyonell it’s literally in the show
You see him hit him after Aerion first yeilds while hes on the floor, Dunk stands up looking about and it cuts to them and you see him get hit with the morningstar or mace
Don’t be dumb
If look it up on Google it tells you the whole storyline. Dunk becomes Lord commander of the Kingsgaurd to King Aegon Egg as a man not a child. Unless they revolt against the king and take the throne he stays true to Targaryen im assuming
Subscribed. your AKOTSK coverage is fantastic
Thank you so much that means a lot
It wasn’t all Darrion - he was battered by other knights on the field.
capítulo no mostraron nada y sir Duncan no sabe pelear
Lyonel isn’t talking about rebellion he’s talking about the next coming Blackfyre Rebellion coming
I like your thought about Lyonel wanting to recruit Dunk. This is not in the novella but this is a cool show addition. Dunk wanted to be hired by a Lord and to finally have a great Lord recruit him is a nice added emotional conflict.
Ya I didn’t expect that at all so to see in the preview was kind of nuts, but it made me super excited!
Maekar wasn't jealous of his brother, Baelor. He loved him. Even though they were total opposites, he respected his brother and was duty bound to him. What they did at the Battle of the Redgrass made them legends and they knew how important they were to one another.
Maekar was jealous. You can be jealous and still love someone.
@His@HistoricalRecords24 sure I can agree with that
@jurisranger it wasn’t really jealousy because he’s getting the throne. It’s more jealousy because Maekar is in the shadows of his brother.
@HistoricalRecords24that’s right 🎯
@HistoricalRecords24 Jealous nonetheless
I wish they had used more accurate depiction of their armor, there would have been, exceptionally thick padding and chainmail underneath those helmets,, so Baylor wouldn't have died or at least he wouldn't have died right away he would have been injured gravely but probably lived for another year or two
Baelor dies in the book.
He was wearing his son's armor, so it didn't fit him well.
That's why the hit from his brother Maekar's mace damaged his skull the way it did.
you're wrong dude. Lyonel wanted to marry Dunk but Dunk was in love with Baelor. That's why he got jealous. Egg wargs into a dandelion and saw Dunk crying
Love the theory, you are probably right 😅
@JellyJugz I have to agree the first part🤣🤣🤣🤣, but even egg might be a warg, I don't think you can warg into something without a brain, and how do dandeIion see with no eyes?😅
oh, do you think Lyonel was the one who hit Baelor?
Hahaha 😂 sounds plausible
The LBGTQ thing again.Enough of rhat.
SPOILER: Lyonel will indeed rebel against the iron throne and crown himself storm king. duncan as a member of the kingsguard will challenge and defeat him in single combat, ending the rebellion.
Nah bro. Lyonel had no intentions for the throne at all. The war coming is yet another Blackfyre rebellion.
8 mins on a small trailer is crazy!
Some people make 20 minutes ones! I feel like i was modest lol
10 Seasons planned? Am I dreaming?
Maekar offered Duncan to be a knight of Summerhall. But Duncan refused and told if Aegon wanted to be a squire then Aegon should learn from him outside of Targaryan place. Maekar screamed that Aegon is his son. He is not meant to bare poverty and difficulties. Then Duncan replied then why Aerion became a monster. Later Maekar realized that Aegon would be better be a squire of a hedge knight better be like Aerion in future.
3:37 it's not Dunkcan. It's Dunk. Don't be an egg 😅.
God I hope they don't throw Henry Cavill into this show and ruin it with some Hollywood bullshit. This show is perfect as it is.
Plus, I don’t think Henry has the chops for this show
They did
@universal3025Henry cant act, youre right
Here's what I can't understand. How can Dunc train Egg if he's not even a proper Knight. Him not even knowing the oath is a HUGE implication. And and in the Trial by Seven he really didn't do much. If it weren't for his size he'd have lost. The prince got the better of him. So in a royal house. Training a Prince to be a knight. With other knights. And other warriors watching.? He'd never get away with it. He won with size and perseverance. Which can't be taught to a smaller than average prince. He's been lying the whole time about being a knight. And now a prince is dead. I mean if they find out he's not a proper knight. And they would after watching him attempt to train anyone. So IMO it's starting to not MS.
In the book, maeker mentions this. He offers dunk a place at Summerhall where Egg will squire for Dunk and Dunk will train with the master of arms to complete his own training.
Baelor is The King That Never Was. Hes talked about a lot. Maekar loved his brother, and Maekar never wanted to be king. This incident haunts him the rest of his life. It literally says so in the novellas. Dude, if Baelor fighting came with no risk at all, explain then, to all of us, how hes dead....... seems like the greatest risk one couldve taken, you know, putting your life on the line, and then losing it. Id love to know what you consider a risk......
It’s not his fault. Baelor made his choice to fight alongside him.
Lots of "kind of" in this breakdown. EVERYBODY in a trial of combat is at risk of losing their life. One can make a point, but you can't be "kind of" right nor "kind of" wrong.
10 season?
Ya the way Parker the showrunner made it sound grrm has outlines for 12 short stories for dunk and egg, so if it’s a short story a season we at least got 10
@JellyJugz Outlines are not the same thing as the dialogue and descriptions that GRRM wrote for Dunk and Egg and others in the three novellas. I do not think they can stretch this show out another 9-12 seasons with mostly outlines, at least not of the quality seen in this first season. I believe that was tried after Season 5 or 6 of GOT.
@gailf1617Each GOT book was 1,000 pages. Each Dunk and Egg story is about 100 pages. Dunk and Egg will be fine even with just outlines, even if GRRM croaks tomorrow.
@JellyJugz nope, 1 season, this show is no good
[SPOILER ALERT!!!] is very possible that the three eyed Raven to plan all this and enter Maker mind during fight with this brother as Bran acces Hodor mind during that escape. Remember ? Bran Stark is the succesor of 3 eye Raven who got spyes everywhere and also wanted the throne. After all he is a Targaryen too.
Maekar isn't jealous of Baelor, they loved each other deeply. They had a strong bond with each other that they didn't have with their other 2 bothers. It's why Maekar was so hurt when he saw Baelor ride out in defense of "the hedge knight who attacked my son!"
Maekar and Baelor are the famous brothers for being the hammer and the anvil against the blackfyre rebellion. Unlike their other brothers Jaehaerys and Rhaegel they share a bond of swordsmanship and warfare. That same bond you claim Dunk and Raymun have. Now x100 because they are actually brothers. Plus Maekar isn't the second son either. He's the fourth. In the line of succession he's at least 7th, possibly 9th depending on how they're feeling about women at the moment (Since Aleora eventually gets named heir, more like 9th).
People seem to be misunderstanding what I mean by jealous. I mean he is jealous of the love everyone has for him, he is sick of people kissing his butt all the time, we saw that in episode 2 when Dunk was doing it, he rolled his eyes. Like you can still be jealous and still have love for them. Like Jon Snow was jealous of Robb Stark, but he still loved his brother. Baelor being next in line for the throne is not why he is jealous; that is never what I meant.
you need too re read the books Lyonel has no interest in the throne. And Maekar loved his brother. and Maekar is the 4 in line. behind Vallar, Aerys and Rheagal. Aerion ends up having a son named Meagor.
Where does it say in the books Lyonel has no interest in the throne? And where did I say anything about maekar wanting the throne? He was trying to get to Aerion that’s why he was going so hard at Baelor.
5th in line, Baelor has 2 sons...Valarr and Materys
These comments are wild with guessing and speculation. There is a book that tells you how this played out and what’s to come. No need to wrongly guess.
Well the show runner and Martin don’t talk anymore so the show might not follow the book on all points
@robertsole9970Martin is heavily involved, the actors have mentioned it multiple times. Also, again with the speculation. The series almost follows the book exactly how it was written, including most of the dialogue. There is only one episode left, so the evidence is overwhelming.
Not True about Makaer did not care at all... He really didnt want to kill Baelor.. Makaer started swinging his spike ball at EVERYONE including the Kings Guard when they held him back when he saw Aerion was getting thrashed by Duncan. He screamed My Son, My Son... they held him back and then he started swinging in the next shot. He was trying to get to Aerion, not trying to Kill his brother. Makeaer and Baelon were literally flip sides of a coin and believe it or not he loved his brother. Makaer regretted his death every day even though it was an accident and he saw inheriting the throne as punishment for what happened to Baelor. Makaer literally made everyone honor his brother every year for the rest of his life.. thats jealousy?
As wrong as he was, Aerion showed he could fight!!! Got my respect!!!
Why didn't Valaar become king?
I mean I can tell you but it’s a spoiler:.. up to you
Because Spring brings more than love.
