Great edit in LN Jim! I haven't used LN much, as you know, but I chose one of my fall color photos and followed along with ya in LN. It was nice switching gears on an edit. 💜😎💜
Unless I'm conspicuously trying to convey a fantasy look for my viewers, I try to keep a semi-realistic handle on my adjustments. While undeniably pretty, the colors in this lovely swamp image are simply far too blown out to be even remotely believable. It detracts quite a bit from the awesome scenery you've captured in your photo. Personally, I wouldn't have amped the color any beyond what you initially achieved with Supercontrast. Not meaning to be insulting. In my opinion you're a delightful instructor, Jim, and I've learned a lot from you about various software applications. As a subscriber, I appreciate you and all that you do to help others. Thanks and keep bringing it, my good fellow.♥
Thanks and no hard feelings at all, I totally amped up the colors here (obviously) but it's a "season to taste" thing which I always advise. I like the fantasy look though so sometimes I get a little edgy with my edits, like here. Thanks for watching!
@@JimNix - We're in complete agreeance; "season to taste". I adore and often go for the obviously artsy look as well. Remember this adage; 'Fantasy's always better than reality' (especially as it pertains to women). Ha … ladies, that's a flippable script. Thanks again, Jim! I love it. See you around.♥
Wow, you turned that flat original into work of art Jim! I love learning your techniques on manipulating the light. But I'm wondering why you shot the original so dark: normally it's to protect the highlights, but there's really no highlights here to speak of.
Hi Jim, enjoyed watching the edit. Interesting to see how far Luminar has come since 2019. I tried out both Luminar and On1 as my photo editor and settled on On1. Looks like the folks at Luminar have been busy and have made some great improvements.
Excellent edit! So, do you map out what you're going to do ahead of time? Personally, I jump from adjustment to adjustment as the picture takes shape in front of me. I wish I could visualize the whole thing earlier but I usually do the "OK what does it need now" approach.
Really good job with the editing process. As always, thanks for your videos - the finisded product looks great. The only personal taste comment would be the [overly done] really blue trees. Just a personal "season to taste" opinion.
Thank you Jim for taking the time to explain your editing process so clearly. It is very useful for learning the strength s of the Luminar Neo software. 🙏 I didn't understand the word you said after grunge at 12:53. Where can I download the final beautifully edited photo Jim? 😍 Stay safe.
Thanks and that word was "urbex", short for urban exploration, a type of photography of old, abandoned and grungy places. When I shoot those, I will often use Structure AI across the entire image, as it suits it. But otherwise, not so much. This photo is on my Facebook page and my IG too. Thanks.
Nice one looks great, being selfish would you do the same edit (as near as you can get it) in the new ON1 Photo Raw 2024, would love to see the comparison.
Jim, I think this is one of your BEST videos! Also, the finished image is the most beautiful landscape I've seen in years!
Aw shucks, that's so kind of you to say, I appreciate it!
Nice work through Jim as usual. Certainly like your colours.
thanks so much Ken!
Jim this is excellent information!!! Thanks for doing this!!!
Thank you for watching!
Beautiful Jim!
thank you Stacy!
Nice edit Jim! Love the swamp location.
thanks so much Dave!
Love Caddo Lake! I have a few swamps shots as well but I wasn't there in the fall so I don't have all that beautiful color. Looks fantastic!
thanks much Roger!
Great video JIm. Always learning from you. Saw your Sony/B&H Webinars (landscape and street). Great job.
Thanks so much Mark, and glad you enjoyed the webinars too. I appreciate it!
Great edit in LN Jim! I haven't used LN much, as you know, but I chose one of my fall color photos and followed along with ya in LN. It was nice switching gears on an edit. 💜😎💜
Thanks for watching TC and glad you gave it a whirl in Neo for a change!
Excellent as always Jim, loved the edit👍
thank you Mark!
Amazing photograph, great tutorial, much appreciated
thank you Paul!

Art is often "Unbelieveable" --- I LOVE what Jim does.
Großartig!
thanks so much Andreas!

thanks Carl and yes this was darker mostly from force of habit, but also bc we were in and out of light spots so I was constantly tuning the EV
I might have used the color refection a little. Really like these videos.
Thanks for watching!
Great edit and tutorial.
thanks so much Leon!

Thanks for watching Jim and yes Luminar Neo is really solid, as is On1. I use both and make vids about both. You can't go wrong either way!
As always love your videos!
oh thanks so much!
Love this edit for sure.... thanks
thank you!

Thanks and I usually have a rough idea of what I want to do, but getting there often involves a bit of experimentation to see what works best. Thanks.

Thanks for watching and good feedback. They don't seem blue to me, at least not very much, but I get the point. I appreciate it.
Perhaps I need to look at my monitor settings ... saving for the apple monitor.@@JimNix

thank you!

Thanks much, and I don't think I will do this same image in On1 although I am planning some more On1 vids soon for sure.
Il video sebbene complesso è stato di mio gradimento, mi piacerebbe avere la foto di partenza per esercitarmi. Grazie
thanks so much, but I do not release my raw files for practice
Well done!🤜💥🤛
thanks so much Robert!
