Hey I just gave up building my website on Wordpress and started making it on Canva instead, starting from the free template that you have put here. I am watching this video over and over to make sure I do it correctly 😅 So far I am only struggling with responsiveness for mobile!
oh god yeah WordPress can take months haha. Squarespace is a nice middle ground between the two but yeah Canva's functionality is pretty great now. Awesome video💯Thank you. Thinking between Canva & Squarespace. Which one would you recommend. I love Canva but think it might miss SEO & analytics functionality. What do you think? Thanks a lot.
Hey Kai - it's a great question and I'm so glad you liked the video! So it depends... if you're just thinking of designing a landing page to embed your existing calendly into that will act as a landing page for people to enquire then Canva is more than enough for something like this. But if you'd like a multi-page website with maybe a blog portion or some more elaborate features then Squarespace is an excellent choice. You're right about the analytics. Canva has some capabilities in this area but it won't be as robust as looking at Google Analytics for example. But from an SEO perspective I can honestly say that unless you publish regular content on a site... it won't have much SEO power no matter where it's hosted unfortunately. Not to mention you can set up a Canva site in 20 mins whereas a Squarespace site will take days if not weeks to get up to the level you want most likely. So if it was me, I would start with a Canva site as an interim solution and then decide whether the upgrade is necessary. Because then if you upgrade - you'll already have your content ready to go... but that's just my opinion! If you do go with Canva btw I would still register your own domain and use that if possible.
@@Maggie-Stara I love it, awesome reply, many thanks indeed🙏I will do as you said, start with Canva and later on, if I see the need upgrade to Squarespace. The thought of building the perfect page was keeping me away from actually doing anything so Canva is indeed a great starting point and also fully agree, that I will link it to my personal domain. Many thanks Maggie and keep up the stellar work you are doing. Cheers.
@@SmartMoneywithKai I've been there!! 😅 it can be overwhelming for sure... and then you have a whole new skill to master which is web design and that is NOT an easy feat. Sorry I'm not sure how a standalone web page is different from a landing page? This particular demo is for a one page website effectively... but let me know if you're looking to do something different!
Hey Steeve - Canva has some timeline graphic templates you can utilise! Or you can create it from scratch as well of course. Here's a handy video on how to make it from scratch: ruclips.net/video/m8gIWvS4UFY/видео.html
Hi Maggie, thanks for your video. I just did everything right and works perfectly for computer, but when I see my design on my phone, I cant see Calendly well. I just can see the first week of the month and I cant scroll down more... Can you please help me with that? Or does anyone have the same problem? Thanks ;)
You can but each would have to be its own separate website for the time being. You could then have a button on each of them to say "view this website in spanish" on the english website for example and then vice versa on the spanish site.
Unfortunately Canva doesn't support a multi-page site at this stage. But you could create it as 3 separate websites within Canva and just link between them if you'd like. It's more work though of course.
haha I have to say, in all my years of teaching online that's the first time anyone has ever said that to me - I love it! Thank you so much 🥰 I'm honoured.
Hey Maggie, great video! Do you think there is a way to create a template or at least single elements for a website on Canva, and then export them and use them to build a website with Wordpress? Or is this just a terrible idea?
Hey Massimiliano - haha no such thing as a terrible idea! I've definitely seen people to this to a certain extent pretty successfully. That goes for like in-line images for opt-ins for example. Where you can create the graphic within Canva and just embed it as an image within WordPress. But anything beyond that would likely not give you the results you want. What theme are you using on WP? If you haven't checked out Divi yet I would give that a go. It's the easiest website builder I've ever worked with and it's a lot more robust than what Canva can do for you. It then also ensures everything is mobile friendly and stacks correctly. Whereas if you export a section from Canva and put it into WordPress as an image it'll likely look ok on desktop but the mobile version will probably struggle 😬
@@Maggie-Stara Thank you for your answer. I am using Astra theme free version and I was planning to install Elementor Pro, since it seems to be even easier to use than Divi and it's also very widespread, I don't know what you think about it
@@massimilianobellini9902 yes Elementor is great 😌 ... similar in terms of user-friendliness to Divi so that's a great option.I would also say that if you'll be using Elementor you probably won't feel the need to use the Canva website option as they're both quite easy to use but Elementor is definitely much more catered to websites than Canva.
hmm... not quite sure what's not working for you sorry. It's working for me! Make sure you're refreshing your Canva design as that can make things a bit buggy if it's been open for too long.
Hmm I'm not sure without being able to look into your account sorry. It might be just that the Calendar hasn't been activated yet within Calendly perhaps?
Thank you for the amazing video 😄 Can you please check the template link. I tried many times but I am unable to use it. I think there is a problem in the link.

Canva has the WORST customer support by FAR! How can a service so cool like canva lack one of the the most basics of all systems to take itself from great to excellent? I built my canva website over 2 months ago and launched it with an existing domain that I already owned only for them to send an error message after 3 days of trying to verify the domain that said my DNS records couldn't be verified. I went step-by-step with my domain provider (google) who made sure all of the DNS records sent from canva were verified and still NOTHING happened on canva's end. Cool! So I went ahead and scrapped that route and bought a brand new domain from canva to try to relaunch my site, after almost a week of them trying to "verify" their own domain, they sent me the same error message that my site's DNS records couldn't be verified. How and why can't canva verify their own DNS records of a domain that I bought from them? Trying to get support on the canva app is like trying to squeeze water out of a rock - GOODLUCK! However, I found a way to hunt down their support email which God knows they DON"T want anyone to have because... they just don't want to be bothered. Anyways, I emailed them about my frustration and you guest it,,, they won't even respond. Now, I'm way passed the scheduled date of the launch of my website (yes, I was supposed to launch the site to correspond to the 1st year anniversary of our unveiling event) and now that deadline is passed and I'm scrambling to come up with something else to launch the site with but there's no website to launch as canva can't even fucking verify their own domain. opportunity So sorry I had to take my frustration here, just hoping to find someone who might have experienced the same to guide me.
Wow I’m so sorry to hear it’s been such a struggle. But I have to say I’m surprised you’ve found their customer service to be sub-par I’ve felt like they have the best and quickest customer service response of any tool I personally use. You’re right that submitting a ticket isn’t the easiest thing in the world understandably so on their end as otherwise they’d be spammed with questions all day long. But I’ve always gotten a prompt and detailed reply to my questions. So I’m sorry that hasn’t been the case for you! In the interim I would maybe just try to redirect your custom domain to the Canva branded site if it’s already built and ready to go and just the actual domain is buggy. That way you can still provide people with the nice URL and it’ll just redirect to the free Canva branded one until they’re able to help sort it out for you. Could that be a possibility?
Thank you so much for this video. Subscribed and shared your channel with my folks.

So I think that's a great choice and will definitely make it easier in the long run if you decide to make the switch as well 😊 I'm so glad I could help!
I want to create a stand alone web pages using Canva. Can i do that, all that I have seen are landing pages with Anchor pages
Sorry I'm not sure how a standalone web page is different from a landing page? This particular demo is for a one page website effectively... but let me know if you're looking to do something different!
Hi, what tool for create timeline graphic please?
Hey Steeve - Canva has some timeline graphic templates you can utilise! Or you can create it from scratch as well of course. Here's a handy video on how to make it from scratch: ruclips.net/video/m8gIWvS4UFY/видео.html
thank you maggie 😀😀
thank YOU for watching! 💜
Hi Maggie, thanks for your video. I just did everything right and works perfectly for computer, but when I see my design on my phone, I cant see Calendly well. I just can see the first week of the month and I cant scroll down more... Can you please help me with that? Or does anyone have the same problem? Thanks ;)
Hi how about the domain of this?
Absolutely brilliant!
I'm so happy to hear it was helpful Shelley/Valentine 🥰 !!
Can we create the website in multiple languages?
You can but each would have to be its own separate website for the time being. You could then have a button on each of them to say "view this website in spanish" on the english website for example and then vice versa on the spanish site.
Hi, I have a question, it’s there another way that the pages can be separated instead off after the other one? Like a word press website?
Unfortunately Canva doesn't support a multi-page site at this stage. But you could create it as 3 separate websites within Canva and just link between them if you'd like. It's more work though of course.
damn you the real MVP!
haha I have to say, in all my years of teaching online that's the first time anyone has ever said that to me - I love it!
@@Maggie-Stara Thank you for your advice!
@@massimilianobellini9902 of course, anytime!! 🥰
Hi Maggie, It seems that typeform is no longer working on Canva?
hmm... not quite sure what's not working for you sorry. It's working for me! Make sure you're refreshing your Canva design as that can make things a bit buggy if it's been open for too long.
I can’t embed my calendly link into my canva pro. Do you know why this is? For me it doesn’t work
Hmm I'm not sure without being able to look into your account sorry. It might be just that the Calendar hasn't been activated yet within Calendly perhaps?

Thank you for the amazing video 😄
Can you please check the template link. I tried many times but I am unable to use it. I think there is a problem in the link.
@@vihaanpokharna5813 I'm so sorry Canva's affiliate links have been playing up for the past 48 hours and they can't seem to get it working. You can use this link instead and that'll work: livingtoroam.com/canva-website sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for watching!
Thank you for helping. Can you also make a tutorial on how to create a website like your main website in wordpress. Please 😀
@@vihaanpokharna5813 ooooh that could be a long tutorial haha but it's a good idea thank you! I'll look into doing something like this in the future 😊but in the meantime I would check out this video as that's the theme I use with my WordPress: ruclips.net/video/MyPVKG04uI8/видео.html and it seems like a great in-depth tutorial!
You are the best RUclipsr. You are always ready to help 🙂 Thank you
The template isn't working
Sorry about that Canva's affiliate links have been playing up for the past 48 hours and they can't seem to get it working. You can use this link instead and that'll work: livingtoroam.com/canva-website sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for watching!
Great information but I'll have to watch n pause it to be able to follow the steps. The video was to fast for me.
that's good feedback for me thank you! Sorry to hear it was too fast, but I'm glad you were able to find a workaround by pausing it 💜
Canva has the WORST customer support by FAR!
Now, I'm way passed the scheduled date of the launch of my website (yes, I was supposed to launch the site to correspond to the 1st year anniversary of our unveiling event) and now that deadline is passed and I'm scrambling to come up with something else to launch the site with but there's no website to launch as canva can't even fucking verify their own domain. opportunity
So sorry I had to take my frustration here, just hoping to find someone who might have experienced the same to guide me.
